I'VE BEEN BOO-ED!

Boo Ya'll!

Guess What? I've been Boo-ed by my sweet and talented friend Pat at Back Porch Musings! What fun!

Here are the rules: "Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been Boo-ed." Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends. (Then put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows you've already been Boo-ed and to send the picture to someone else.) Are you scared yet!!??

Gotta run...I've got some booing to do!

A REPORT FROM THE "CAPTAIN"

**Warning***Lots of pink ahead!!
As I mentioned in my last post, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Saturday (25th) was a big success and so much fun.
We all gathered in the kitchen at 7:30 for a quick breakfast before the walk.
Me with my brother-in-law Rusty and my sister Karen
Karen and I in our pink "survivor" t-shirts. Karen is a 20 year survivor!
Our friends Bob and Jennifer joined us for breakfast.
Breakfast of champions: cinnamon rolls, cereal, fruit, coffee and juice. LOL
Our son Eric and daughter-in-love Angela
Mom setting out the cereals, bananas and walnuts
The guys took the golf cart....
and the girls followed in the car (Angela stepped out to take a photo)
We had to pull up alongside the guys and tease them about wearing pink. Bob cracked us up by pretending to kiss George's neck.
When we arrived, Karen and I were given a survivor sash to wear and a message stone.
Mine says courage and Karen's says strength
Bob, Lisa, and my hubby George
My brother-in-law Rusty, Aunt Sherry, Mom, my sister Karen
Bob and Jennifer
Eric & Angela on the left and Linda & Jack on the right (Linda's cousins who were visiting are in the middle)
Robin, Charles and Carol
Some of the girls who work in the hair salon I go to came to walk and brought their daughters too!
Here we are warming up before the walk...yep that's me acting like a fool!
Hey, everybody else was dancing and having fun too.
When everyone starting lining up, Karen and I went to the front of the line for a photo under the balloons.
And we're off!

Me with my biggest supporter....my hubby!

Look at this cute group of girls - "Suzy's Breast Friends"... I assume the one with the survivor sash must be Suzy?...so young!
Debbie, Beth, Me and Jeanette

Check out these survivors and their cute "ride"! Look at the H-U-G-E pink bra strapped to the front.

Me with Angela...she's not just my daughter-in-love, but a very special friend!
Mom had no problem keeping up! Go Mom!
Debbie and Ralph, George, Bob and Jennifer (Debbie was a sport...she had surgery on her hand not long ago)
The finish line!
Mom and George
Karen and Rusty
Santa walked too!
After the walk, we gathered around to talk and celebrate.
His t-shirt made me smile!
Before I left, I signed Team Davenport up to walk next year. It's a tradition for us now.

It might be a little hard to see, but the silver sneaker (with tiny pink shoe laces) I'm wearing around my neck was given to me by my friend Carol's sister who is also a breast cancer survivor. She wore it 14 years ago when she did the Race For The Cure and decided to give it to me. How sweet is that!
~~~~~~
What do you do after a long walk?
Go out for a big breakfast, of course! Not everyone could come, but it sure was nice to have quite a few of my team all together.
~~~~~~
After we got home....
Me, Karen, Sherry and Mom relaxed out on the lanai
Eric crashed on the couch for a few minutes
Rusty tried to nap, but.....
Miss Daisy wanted to play
We "had" to play some games
We all went out for barbecue for dinner and this unusual truck was parked outside. Have you ever seen anything like this coming down the road toward you?
Meow!
Our team photographer. Thanks Eric!
~~~~~~
Thanks to everyone who donated, walked and prayed for Team Davenport. Together we made a difference! And...we raised $3,205.00!!!!
