Backpack for your lil ones

I have tried out this cute lil backpack tutorial ... its really great. I really love it...

I made this just for the sake of participating in a sewing competition held by Epal Craft Centre, Malaysia, recently --- theme "Back To School - Hello Kitty".., any kind of bag are accepted.. as long as it meets the theme..

All participants must buy the kit provided which consist of 1m Hello Kitty fabric, batting & a name tag sticker... thats all...

So.. tada.. this is my bag. Thanks to the tutorial from That Crafty mrs V... Really saved a lot of time... especially when I always do things last minute... I managed to finish it in 1 day...

The Doctor Bag

I love this bag...I just love it.. I fell in love with it the moment I saw the sample at Epal.

This is an extra project I made and learned from Epal Centre. If you are an Epal VIP Member, you should receive a newsletter from Epal for December 2009, about this bag.. and they are selling various types of bag handles including the inner iron support handle (for the opening of the bag)

Side view
( the ends of the zippers are neatly wrapped and hand-sewn in a button shape plastic holder)
sorry I didnt manage to take the picture of the inner stuff.
I never knew there are so many things used to make a bag that I never seen before..

This is the opening of the bag... very wide.. I like it... The openings are supported by a hidden metal handle , also hand-sewn into it... hardly noticeable right?

The best of all... I've gone thru the challenge of sewing this bag.. looks easy... but if you got the technique wrong... only God knows if you have such great patience..

Last but not least, the leather handle are also hand-sewn... to attach to the body. No worries.. it is strong enough to support your load... cos I used the strong thread for sewing shoes.. That should hold up the strap firmly..

This bag is not for sale or order for this moment... maybe next year...! I would turn it into a diaper bag... or mommies bag...

FYI, I'm the first who made this Doctor Bag here in Epal KK Centre... wow... not sure why no body wants to buy the Kit.. In my opinion, although it is quite pricey.. but the the technique is very unique.. and you can learn a lot from it... Even my hubby can't believe I've made this bag!!! He finally HOLD it.. OPEN it... PEEK inside it... OBSERVE my workmanship ...and was quite impressed with my work.. "THIS IS GOOD WORK" he said. I never heard him complimenting my work all this while.. hehe.. He made my day today~

Whatever bag you named it

I made these bags last night... Similar technique like my diaper bag.. the only difference is that these bags have no extra pockets like a diaper bag.

It can be a shopping bag, casual bag or a handbag.. or stuff-everything-in-a-bag

I wonder if these bags are able to sell

Patchwork handbag

This is the November project I did finally completed yesterday.. Quite an interesting technique I learnt from Epal. They call it Fireworks Patchwork handbag.. not sure why "fireworks", I guess the sparks pattern is like fireworks..

The beginning of "patchworking"...
TADA!! I made it!..

The Epal trainer Idah said my workmanship is very neat...
(whoaahhh!!!... kembang!!)

And I love the inside too!

And I finally used my bias tape maker... so very easy to use! Now I can make better bias for my smocking dresses..

My very own diaper bag!

Finally I made my own diaper bag for Maya... Quite hard to find the right diaper bag in stores.. so I made it just rite for me. At least it doesn't really look like a diaper bag... More like a handbag when you see it..

It can fill all these too...!This is how it looks inside... I wanted to make more pockets & with zippers.. well.. next time.. This is a last minute work.. I made it on new years eve.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!
