Trip to Washington

Andy and I got to fly into Portland, Oregon to do some babysitting for my brother who lives in Vancouver, Wa. We got to play mom and dad for a couple days and test out our parenting skills. It was a lot of fun to spend some time with my nephews and see my family! Unfortunately it seems that my family can't get together without getting sick though. By the end of the week we pretty much all had gotten sick. Luckily we didn't get it until we were done baby sitting the boys.

So we flew in Saturday morning, Ily showed us the ropes and then her and Bryan took off! Isaac, 8, and Micah,5, were riding their bikes around and playing with the neighborhood boys, so Andy and I only had to watch Reece. Reece is a pretty calm two year old. He played in the sand box and Bryan hooked up a trailer on the back of his bike so we could all go for bike rides. We soon found out that Reece got very demanding as soon as he sat back there in the trailer! He was ordering Andy where to go and how fast to go. Haha, he is too cute to get mad at though! For dinner on Saturday we went to Melinda's and had pizza and watched a movie.

The rest of the week we had a blast going on bike rides, bowling, played hide and go seek for like two hours, watched movies, went to the zoo and the rose garden and just had a lot of fun playing with each other!

It was still good to see family, even though we were all feeling miserable. After Andy and I left we really missed having the boys around. It definitely is a hard job to have and I really appreciate all those moms and dads out there!

Somewhere over the rainbow!

I think we brought the rain to Provo when we left Florida. It has been raining for the past two weeks and tonight we had the most beautiful rainbow! It was so bright and so big! The picture does not do it justice!

More concert pictures and videos

So we had a lot of fun at the concert, Andy is hooked now. Along with Relient K the Classic Crime and Owl City played. The Classic Crime is more hard rock and Owl City is more techno, a lot like Postal Service. Andy and I did our homework and tried to learn all the songs of the other bands too so we could rock out with all the bands, we felt like we were the only ones who knew the Classic Crime, more people knew Owl City, and EVERYONE went crazy for Relient K you could barely hear him sing at all because everyone in the crowd was screaming every word of his songs. We went with our friends James and his wife Melissa.

This was the Classic Crime. I liked his songs but I have to admit I am not really into the the whole indie look. I guess I prefer my bands to look more grunge. The classic crime guy came out with beautifully styled and highlighted hair, yes, HIGHLIGHTED. But he did put on a good show despite being an hour late!

This was the set up for Owl City. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from them because they don't play the normal instruments like more bands you see. They had three mac books and just stood there pushing buttons. They ended up being pretty fun to watch just because they were so different. They were definitely dorky but that is what made them fun. They had a screen projector behind them and when they started playing their music all the lights were turned off except the projector. It looked pretty cool.

Next up was Relient K! I was surprised to see that there were so many little kids with their parents there! Relient K is a pretty clean and family friendly band.

He played a lot of different songs that weren't his, which was kinda fun. He played the Office theme song, the dollar foot long song for subway, and one of Cake's songs, The Distance, which was awesome! They had a fun set up, a piano on stage, like 20 well we counted 10 guitars, a banjo, an accordion, and trumpets!

Andy and I pushed our way to the front for a couple of songs, it was about 10 degrees hotter and to the right of us were a bunch of guys that were moshing. All the sudden I felt Andy leave my side, I looked over and he was in the middle of the mosh pushing guys around and going crazy. I couldn't believe it! I started laughing my head off. I think it was a group of little high school kids because Andy said they were wusses and that it was nothing compared to playing in the post when he plays basketball.

When we left our ears were ringing and we stopped at the closest 7 11 and got drinks because we were so hot! Now we are looking for the next concert to go to! Anyone in?

Happy Birthday Andy!!!!!!!!

For Andy's birthday I got him concert tickets to see Relient K. Andy has never been to a concert so I thought it would be fun for him to go and Relient K is one of his favorite bands. IT WAS FUN!

Vero Beach!

Our last week of vacation was spent on Vero Beach! It was a lot of fun and we lucked out and got some sun! Every morning we would lather up in the sun screen and head down to the beach and switch on and off from the beach to the pool. By the afternoon when we all had too much sun the clouds would roll in and it would down poor rain!

Darrin Moody brought me Congo to read ( which is a really good book) and Andy tried to read the Samerillian ( I dont know how to spell it), he was having a hard time getting into it though. All in all it was an awesome vacation and had lots of fun.
