Enough of the ....

.... festivities!!! Back to business, I tells ya!! Hope everyone who reads this (and even those who don't, although they won't know any better anyway!) has been having a lovely Christmas. Still a week of holidays left - excellent!

Just posting a card I made for a forum friend whose birthday was perilously close to Christmas. I had had the blue/cream watercoloured paper knocking round my desk for ages, and wasn't I pleased when this new stamp just sat nicely on it.

I think I will be celebrating the new year (not that I generally go in for such things!) with an exceedingly small giveaway - more in 2009!

DS was jumping around the kitchen during dinnertime today.

DH asked him to sit down, adding "You're like a bag of ferrets".

"A bag of carrots??" replied DS, to hysterics all round.

I participated in a Secret Santa at a crop a few weeks ago. I made this bag to put the SS stuff in - it matches the other things I made, but I can't show them yet!!

I think I'll use my blog to record some of the funny things DS (now 6 - and three quarters!) says. Shame I haven't been writing them down over the past years, but anyway. Here's this morning's offering:

DS: Dad, I know why boys are more important than girls
DH (mind boggling a bit!): Why?
DS: 'Cos God is a man and Jesus is a boy.
DH: Oh right, I see.

I did ask DH why he didn't ask "What about Mother Earth?"

Christmas? I'm on schedule ....

.... well, craft-wise I am!!

Having finished making the Christmas cards (writing them and sending them is another story!!), I've been making some gifty things and I'm really pleased with them. Can't show them, though, until the recipients get them.

I made this card for a friend who is my birthday twin (but he's a whole sixteen years older than me!!)

I am going to make a mini-studio for taking pictures of my cards, 'cos I'm fed up of the rubbish light at this time of year. I scavenged a perfectly sized box for making one at the parish bazaar yesterday (also burnt my knuckles making pancakes there, but that's another story!).

And, for the record, even though I'm on schedule craft-wise for Christmas, I'm ridiculously behind on all the rest - pressies not bought, food not ordered, need I say more!!

This is exactly why ....

.... I said I wasn't going to have a blog.

You have to keep updating the damn thing!!!! I will never "tut-tut" at anyone else again for not updating frequently enough!

Anyway - what's been happening? The postman didn't bring my parcel in time for that crop - it didn't arrive until the following Tuesday. Lots of BG paper, yummy. Went to London last weekend and bought a few crafty bits in Hobbycraft, Paperchase, Blade Rubber Stamps, sigh!!!!!

And I have been making nothing but Christmas cards - nearly there - 52 done, 12 to go. Here's a pic:
