Bunting Banner

I was in a quilt shop recently and saw a bunting banner similar to this one.

It is time for green around here. We have had white for a very long time,
and white continues to fall from the sky as I type this. UGGGGG...

I used a template that was equal to 5 inches in width to make a triangle.  Cut triangles from 4 different fabrics.
Sewed the rick rack to the top and...

then hung it!!  Pretty and simple!!
Only 26 days til spring--but who's counting?

A Missionary

"I will go where He wants me to go."
Our sweet and beautiful Jessica received a mission call for

She will be serving 18 months in the Philippines.
A LONG WAYS AWAY!!

My Mom served as a missionary in the Philippines, 50+ years ago.
She and her companion were the first sister missionaries to serve there.
How wonderful that her grand-daughter gets to follow in her footsteps.
This is where she is supposed to serve Heavenly Father's children.
There is no doubt.

She will love the Filipino people and they will love her.
This Mom's heart is tender with gratitude and faith.
Go and Do Jessica!!
We love you eternally.

It's Blue. Ice. Fish.

We have been in the deep freeze for the past 20 some days. I have tried to remain postive about temperatures that don't rise above freezing. But, honestly, it is time for some WARMTH!!
We decided to escape the smog, not necessarily the cold, and go fish on the ice.
We had a great time---frozen appendages and all!!

Look at those avid fishergirls:)!!

Karissa with no gloves---I promise, as a Mother, I made her bring some!!

Rebecca!!

Savanna stuck with it the longest and caught the most fish.
We had perch tacos for dinner cuz of her:)

When the fishing is slow, sledding is fast..and fun!!

Even Sammi was trying to stay warm.

Lunch time--can you say frozen pb&j's?

My handsome honey.
I am thinking spring is just around the corner----mind over matter, on this one, folks:)!!
Stay warm!!

Friend-Sheep

Christmas 2012...blessed. That is a one word description. We had a wonderful, peaceful time together as a family.  The girls created a Christmas Miracle for me. I love them. They are the epitomy of goodness and selflessness.  We shared the Christmas story from the scriptures and set new goals to improve ourselves and show our Savior, Jesus Christ, our love for Him.
I am always saddened when turning on the radio the day after Christmas, and the Christmas songs are gone. The magic seems to leave some and the hustle and bustle slows.
What a magical time of year!!
I am so blessed!
FRIEND-SHEEP QUILT

Just wanted to share my newest quilt. It stemmed from a challenge in my quilt group. We were challenged to make something with about 80% of it being wool.
The ladies in the group then voted on a favorite.  Mine WON!!
I got a cash prize for it.  What sweet ladies to vote for my quilt.
I really appreciate their "FRIEND-SHEEP"!!
I hope Santa was good to you and yours this Christmas Season.
Merry December 28th!!

Santa-Tizer

Saturday morning I was up before the sun. When I opened the blinds this is what I saw...
It only lasted mere seconds. I think it was Heavenly Father's way of saying, "Good Morning. I love you.
Have a beautiful day."  What a wonderous world in which we live.

I made some Santa-tizers for gifts for a few friends.
Items needed:
Bottled sanitizer(dollar store variety)--remove the labels
Fabric--glue it on
Black Ribbon---use double stick tape to put it on
Washers--I wish I had bought a little bit bigger ones--use hot glue to glue it on
The word "Santitizer" is printed on that clear film stuff--that I can't remember the name of--. I cut it, rolled it and put it in the botttles. It worked if I held my tongue, head and body in the right position!!
jk--but not really!! It kind of gave me grief, but they did turn out!!
Hope you have a splendid Monday!!
Thanks for stopping by.

December 1st

I absolutely love this time of year. The feelings, the memories, the music, the children, the magic, the snow, the kindness, the lights, the food, the family, the parties, the decorations, etc. etc.
However, the focus on Christ ranks first.  I will share our nativities in another post.
Here are some images from around our home.

Subway art. It is new to me and to our decor.

A picture of four little girls who aren't so little anymore.

I  made new burlap stockings this year. The girls didn't want to get rid of the old ones we've had since they were little, so we hung them downstairs.

I  made this burlap countdown banner!!  It is new this year, as well.
As the sign in the background states...
"It's a WONDERFUL LIFE'.
Happy December 1st!
