My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

GET WELL SOON

Hi Everyone

Many thanks for the lovely comments on my previous post .. .. they were all very much appreciated.

Amongst all the excitement of everything that was happening, unfortunately, in the days prior to our celebrations my brother-in-law was taken very poorly and was rushed off to a nearby hospital to be sorted.

Quite a long recovery ahead for him (as well as more intervention) but for now he has been allowed home to build his strength back up in readiness.

He is such a lovely chap and idolises his pet dog .. .. so he was pleased to get home to make a fuss of it.

So when considering what to put on the front of his "get well soon card" I thought this might amuse him .. .. .. .. and it did.

LOADS OF LOVE

Hi Everyone

I hope your week has been a good one and that you are ready for your weekend.  Hope it is one filled with things you enjoy.

I needed to nip to the supermarket for some additional supplies for Mum today and I couldn't help but see what other folk were putting through the check-out!  Most folk appeared to be buying food that wasn't going to take much preparation to eat alongside the football on Sunday .. .. .. a few people even had bottles of bubbly so were clearly planning on having something to celebrate!  Oooooo .... ... wouldn't that be nice .. .. .. an England win .. .. .. in fact that would be very nice!

Anyway, just a quick share from me tonight:

This used:

Image:  Julie Hickey "SKU: JH1043" Sweet Daisy Stamp Set
Sentiment:  Penny Black Clear Stamp Set "30-146" Loads of Love (Great to be able to curve clear sentiment stamps).
Backing Papers:  All from my snippet mountain
Distress Ink Pad:  Bundled Sage
ProMarkers
X-Cut Corner Rounding Punch
Ribbon
My Trusty Sewing Machine
and Sketch Number from Five from my Rectangular Sketch Library  (feel free to use it if you like the look of it).

Enjoy your weekend everyone .. .. .. whether you are a footie fan, a tennis fan or someone who isn't interested in either.

Personally I don't have the foggiest idea how to follow the scoring with tennis .. .. .. but footie .. .. I will definitely be there for that!  Come on England!!!!

FOR THE LOVE OF POPPIES

Hi Everyone

Happy Friday .. .. another weekend is nearly upon us and it looks like it might be a chilly one.  In fact I have even had to break out the "long sleeves" again this week!

A busy day here with quite a bit of it spent with my lovely Mum as today is her birthday.  She is now a whole 89 years young and this is the card I made for her which reflects the poppy flowers on her tea cup and lap tray .. ..

This used:

Image:   Penny Black "4065K" Bountiful
Sentiment:  Lili of the Valley "Sentiment Tags"
Backing Papers:  Frou Frou Craft "Red Poppies"
ProMarkers
Ribbon and metallic cord
My Trusty Sewing Machine

and that is it.

Many thanks for your lovely comments on my previous post .. .. I was asked how I made the jar look full of water.  To do this I stamped the jar twice and die cut them both.  Next I stuck stamped and coloured die cut flowers on top of the first jar, then trimmed an aperture into the centre of the second.  This was then glued on top of the first and then glossy accents was used to fill the aperture.  All you needed then was a barrow load of patience to leave it alone and not keep poking it to see if it was dried through.  Once it was it could be added to the card front.

So that is me for today.

Happy weekend everyone!  I am hoping for a super productive one!

CASCADING BUTTERFLIES

Hi Everyone

I hope you have been having a lovely weekend.

Wedding duties have spread over into today and one of my lovely brides came and signed her invitation proofs off .. .. so I now have a mountain of card to get cutting, printing and assembling .. .. and we all know what that means .. .. yep .. .. even more snippets!!

I did fancy a little bit of a play once everything was signed off though and came up with this little creation:

This used

Backing Papers:  We R Memory Keepers "Love Notes"
Spellbinders Die:  Cascading Butterflies
Distress Inks:  Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord
Pearls and Metallic cord from my crafty stash box

Not many supplies at all.

The distressed butterflies have actually been cut using leftover pieces of pre-glittered paper that have been used to make some wedding stationery samples .. .. unfortunately my distress ink pads now have flecks of glitter on them!!!  Eeeekkk!!

I have decided to start doing more cards without a sentiment on them .. .. that way a card can be used for a variety of reasons .. .. rather than just what is written on the front .. .. and I would include a little note inside this card telling the recipient to lift the wings of the butterfly.  I would hate to think they were just lying flat on the card LOL!!.

Anyway, I'll catch you again soon.

FEMININE FRIDAY

Hi Everyone

Happy Friday!

Nearly the weekend .. .. and I'm not ready for it yet!!  LOL!!

Still lots I want to do ahead of the Wedding Fayre on Sunday.  I don't know why I put myself under all this pressure though because by the time I get there and get set up I have more than enough anyway.  But I do like taking new things too .. .. and hopefully the delivery from my local craftsman will be arriving this evening.  I wonder how much of my list he has been able to cross off?

My lovely Sis can't make Sunday .. .. it is her works BBQ .. .. so Mr Heart has kindly volunteered his services for the day.  What a kind soul he is.  I hope he enjoys it!  I will be even more impressed if there is football on the TV and he could have been watching that!!!

Anyway, round to my share for today:

This used:

Image:  Bugaboo Stamps:  "Umbrella Mouse"
Sentiment:  Computer generated using font "Aracne Condensed Regular"
Backing Papers:  Nitwits "Up Up Away" Collection
MFT Die-namics Die Set:  Blueprints 14
ProMarkers
Glossy Accents (for the raindrops)
White gel pen
Ribbon from my crafty stash box

and that is it.

Off to take some pictures now before the sky gets any darker!  Looks like there could be rain afoot!!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Love Jules xx

PROBABLY MY MOST USED STAMP

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all OK and that the day is being kind to you.

The weather here is grotty considering how lovely it has been the last few days.  I really did think Spring was on its way .. . but perhaps not just yet :-(

You surprised me yesterday with how easily you all found the heart .. and there was me thinking it was going to be difficult.  Clearly everyone is getting to know my hiding places far too well .. .. or you are cultivating super speedy heart spotting eyes LOL!!!

Today's share uses probably the stamp I have used the most in my collection .. .. I love it.

This used:

Image:  Stampendous! "M217" Dandie Trio
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat "Quatrefoil" and "Stripes" (both sets on offer for £1 each at the mo!!)
Martha Stewart Punch:  Traditional Scallop
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Gold Embossing Powder
Ribbon from my stash box

A little more of the cream card has disappeared too but there is plenty more to go at.

These are the snippets left over from just one wedding card cutting session!!!!

Lots of hearts, butterflies and flowers there .. .. and possibly a few little easel cards if I get my act together.

Cream is definitely going to be my new white!!!  LOL!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

GET WELL THEME - 5 OF 5

Hi Everyone

Here at last with my last card in the mini "get well" series.

I saved this image until last as it is my all time favourite image for get well cards.

I just love that cute little ted propped up on his pillow .. .. and I always imagine that he is getting a dose of Calpol (love the smell of that LOL!!).

So I am sorry Di but you didn't guess right this time .. .. no Penny Black image tonight .. .. surprise, surprise !

This used:

Image:  Lili of the Valley
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Nitwits
X-Cut Punch:  Flower
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Diamond Stickles
ProMarkers and Chalk

Another wedding order picked up today so that is another off the list :-(  .. .. it always feels sad when I come to the end of a journey with a "happy couple".

There was a framed table plan with this order and when I bought my roll of bubble wrap downstairs ready for wrapping it I thought there was loads on the roll.  But by the time I had finished wrapping there was hardly anything left .. .. .. and I am going to need to wrap another two this week (once I have made them!!)    Eeeekk!  Bad planning on my part there and hubby wasn't impressed I could tell!

So the hunt for another roll of bubble wrap was on the cards.  A quick look on Ebay found a decent priced roll .. but there was 100m on a roll.  That did feel a little excessive.  So whilst we were out picking up ribbons for samples we went to get one from where the original roll came from .. .. only to find that I could have this huge roll for far fewer of my lovely English pounds .. .. and there would be three times as much wrap on it.  How many extra bubbles!!

Once home I ordered the huge roll .. .. now I am wondering whether it will fit through the front door .. .. eeekkk!!

Story to be continued on delivery LOL!!!

GET WELL THEME - 2 OF 5

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a good day .. .. and if not that tomorrow will be much, much better!

Here I am carrying on my "get well" theme.

I have a pretty good idea what images I want to use on my cards for this theme  -   but there is a naughty one that I just can't get out of my head.

I won't do it .. .. .. but I am picturing a man with a lawn mower .. .. and fancy adding the sentiment

"hurry up and get better .. .. .. the grass needs cutting"

that would be cruel wouldn't it?

Mind you there is no way our grass will be able to be cut for quite some time.  We have had quite a lot of standing water from all the rain .. .. .. and although it keeps draining away slowly .. .. the lawns are just like sponges!!  Yuk!!!

But on the happy side .. .. we have cucumbers and tomatoes appearing in the greenhouse and I haven't had to keep going out and watering the runner beans and courgette plants!!  See there is a silver lining to those rain clouds!!

Anyway, here is my share for today

This used:

Image:  Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit "MR132" Butterfly
Sentiment:  Computer Generated using font "Pass the Chex"
Backing Paper:  Funky Hand
Go Kreate:  Scalloped Squares
ProMarkers and Chalks
Glamour Dust
Self Adhesive Pearls

I printed the sentiment first onto linen cardstock and then stamped the image at the side of it.  Hence the textured look of the image .. .. .. and that is me for today.

Time to start those printers whirring again and start measuring off strips of ribbon!!

It's a busy old House of Hearts at the moment.

Have a lovely evening and I'll catch you again tomorrow.

GET WELL THEME - 1 OF 5

Hi Everyone

Well so much for thinking I might be posting early LOL!!

I have ended up later than normal .. .. but I have spent time with a lovely happy couple designing their table plan ready for their big day (and as always happens the bride struggles to to choose what bling she likes the best .. .. all brides end up liking everything and it all becomes a major decision .. .. as it is!!).

So my card is a late night rush jobbie .. .. but at least I managed one.

Thank you for taking part in my little poll yesterday .. .. as you will have seen from the title of my post "Get Well" was the most popular choice.

So here is Get Well .. 1 of 5

This used:

Backing Papers:  Wild Rose Studio "Wintry Christmas"
Image:  Stampabilities  "HMGR1006" Mouse Drops Friends
Sentiment:  Elzybells
Martha Stewart Punch:  Embossed Zig Zag
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Scrap bits of ribbon
ProMarkers

and that is me for today.  Short and sweet.  Hopefully tomorrow I will be a bit earlier but I can't promise.  I am meeting myself coming backwards at the mo.  LOL!!!.
