Went to Land's End yesterday for the Black-headed Wagtail. Not easy to get and really these are the best of a bad lot. Judging by the lack of photos around I guess most people had the same problem.
Also went to Brew for the Blue-headed but didn't see it, only massive clouds of Midges.
Spent four hours walking around Porthgwarra and saw very little. Everything seemed to be sheltering from the rain. The only thing we saw a lot of were Painted Lady Butterflies but because of the rain they mostly kept their wings closed.
First time we've been out for a few days, was great to see the Sand-Martins back at St. Gothian Sands, also saw some Swallows but didn't get a shot of them. John managed a distant Sandwich Tern at Hayle Estuary. We went on to Marazion Marsh, there were Cetti's and Sedge Warblers singing everywhere but didn't show. Also saw Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff. Took the mating Speckled Wood, Heron and others at Marazion.
