Perhaps They Are Not The Stars .... Papertake Weekly Challenge

Papertake Weekly Challenge this week is "Happy New" so this can be anything new - new year, new baby, new stash, new technique, and as always it is up to you how you interpret this!

So my weird and wonderful interpretation of this is .... another "new" year without you ....

I made this card for my Mum on the first anniversary of my Dad's passing.  I wanted her to know I was still thinking about her and of him constantly....

.... I also used a "new" digital sentiment too!  The image is Mariko is Mad by Mo Manning ...

Do Not Open Til Christmas .... Papertake Weekly Challenge

Papertake Weekly Challenge is "Anything Goes".  I'm loving all these "Anything Goes" challenges.  It gives me the chance to enter the cards I've not had time to show yet! :D

I made this card for my gorgeous Grandbaby Rylee. I used Mo Manning "Nicholas Bearing Gifts"

Home Is A Starting Place Of Love & Dreams .... PTW Challenge

I've had the past couple of days relaxing, making cards, peace and quiet :D ... before Mum returns again tomorrow!  We didn't want her to be on her own seeing the New Year in alone straight face ... so DH and I are back on the airbed tomorrow night ... sadly, I get so excited about this rolling eyes can't believe how comfy it is!!!

This card has been made for my youngest DD, who will be leaving home January 14th, next year party ... I'm on countdown and have been since last week :)!  Whilst I love love struck her dearly, I can't wait for her to move out with all her faults and the puppy,  and I'm really hoping that becoming totally independent will be the making of her and turn her into a nice young lady!  raised eyebrows

This week sees the last Papertake Weekly Challenge of 2011, which is a fantastic sketch ...

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas ... PTW Sketch & DP2 Challenge #102

:-o I slept until 10:02am yesterday morning!!!!  Not quite sure what or how that happened cos normally i'm an incredibly early riser ... however, I must of needed it and I do feel better for it.

Upon my awake I :)] Mum to see how Dad was feeling.  Apparently, he fell over in the night on the way to the bathroom :( ... he was OK, 8-| just couldn't get up and had managed to wedge himself between the wardrobe and chest of drawers ... not a pretty sight ... he was :)) about it though, so it must be all good!

I did think that I'd be able to do loads of things with not having to visit the oldies but it never works that way does it? :|  I plugged the vacuum in upstairs to make a start on the chores and ... :-< ... it died!  DH did a mad dash down to Argos and purchases a new one ... its one of the cylinder ones ...#:-S ... flippin' heck I knew I was using that ... it nearly sucked the floorboards through the carpet.  The suction was that good I could hardly push it!

I sort of multi-tasked for the rest of the day, doing a bit of baking and made a card ... I had a go at this new recipe using manky old black banana's ... Banana Creme Caramels ... will show the photos of them tomorrow.  I whipped up a batch of meringues too with the egg whites I had left over :D ... oh happy days!

So onto this weeks PTW challenge and as it is the last challenge of the month (September) there's a sketch …

As always, please feel free to resize, flip and rotate the elements - as long as you can still see the sketch, it’s completely fine.

Heard You're Feeling Wrung Out .... Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ Creature Comforts

*Listen*  ... it's amazingly quiet here ... DH has taken the mutt to the park for playtime and i'm left here all alone making the most of my playtime before the nutter puppy and hubby return.   I've finally had chance to finish a card that's been sat on the table since Sunday.  I found a brill sketch to follow and now can't for the life of me remember which blog its from  :-? LOL!

We've now done 3 sessions of Chemo with only 1 session left :) .  It was decided yesterday that the strength of the Chemo should be reduced by 10%, this hopefully will give Dad some quality of life in between now and his next session, rather than him being bed bound for a fortnight.  So let's [-o< it works.  Yesterday was the longest day ever, or so it seemed.  I did  6 hours at the hospital with Dad and by the end of it I was feeling physically :-&.  We did however still manage to have a giggle whilst we were there, but once home I had to jump in the shower and put the old jim jams on, I was more than ready to I-) for a week or two.

So onto this weeks PTW  Challenge ... you can use any other animal, cute or otherwise as the challenge is ...

Creature Comforts

Happy Freezin' Season ..... PTW Challenge

Shhhh, yesterday was peaceful.  I made this card and the one downstairs!  I sat at the laptop for most of the day only moving to eat lunch and to hang out the laundry!  How much fun did I have?  I've made 2 whole Christmas cards for this year, this could mean that I wont have to buy a box ... but we wont hold our breath on that score just yet!  Dad was feeling good yesterday, but then we know its the 2nd day after Chemo when it all kicks in.  So in theory today is THE day!  I'll keep you posted on here and for those of you that have me as a friend on Facebook you can catch up with me on there! x   In the meantime the chicken is in the slow cooker, the veg is in the steamer ready to be switched on and i'm still in bed LOL!

This week is Papertake Weekly's  last challenge of the month, and as always they have a sketch ….

Please feel free to resize, flip and rotate the elements - as long as you can still see the sketch.

As it’s the last challenge of the month, they are sponsored by those fabulous people across the pond

Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ Sketch #41

Another fantastic sketch to work with for this weeks challenge which is sponsor,ed by Simon Says Stamp .
Now i can't be 100% sure that senile dementia's not setting in, its either that or the peroxide has seeped into the brain, but i am positive Fae asked for birthday card for a party that Rylee is attending (he's got a better social life than me!) for a little girl! Here's what i did ....
... ain't she just adorable?! Anyhow, i showed it Fae and she laughed ... not a normal response from one of my cards LOL! She reckons she said it was for a boy, i'm not convinced. I must have girls on the brain .... btw, did i tell you that Fae is pregnant again? She found out a couple of weeks back, it was no huge surprise really cos the beginning of April we went to a Psychic Supper and she was told she would be having twin girls within the next year! Scott's (Fae's partner) Mum is a twin and there are twins on our side too, so there is a good chance that we could have pink twins .... she's been having a lot of sickness, day and night, which is something she didn't suffer with at all when she was pregnant with Rylee!

Back to the card ..... to make it I used:-

  • CS ~ Stash
  • DP's ~ Pink Petticoat Gingham & Bearly Mine Flower Delight
  • Image ~ Angelina ~ Mo's Digital Pencil Too
  • Sentiment ~ Create with TLC
  • Ribbon & Gems ~ Stash

Papertake Weekly Challenge Sketch #39

Flippin' heck i nearly forgot to post this card on here ... had such a hectic weekend with Scott's birthday celebrations, but everything came together and went well ... the chocolates went down very well. I'd made little gable end boxes and put one of each flavour chocolate in a cello bag inside the box with a party popper! Mine and Andy's chocolates were stolen ... we were told we could eat the ones we had at home LOL!

You should've seen me Saturday morning dressed in my finery, tying helium balloons up and trying to make them stay in a bloomin' black bin bag! Then on my hands and knees painting my sisters toe nails ... green of all colours, whilst she still had her sandals so i only had to do the toe nails that showed PMSL!

Anyhow ...
