Sending Warm Thoughts Your Way .... Sketch Saturday Challenge #203 & DP2 Challenge #130

This lateness is becoming a little bit of a habit!  I do apologize  once again, but I really don't know where the days are going!  Last week has passed in a blur .... with hospital, drs and family visits, grandbaby babysitting and a spot of retail therapy thrown in for good measure!

We've started a new project .... baby watch!   We've taken over Dad's greenhouse and planted lots of seeds we found in his drawer and we now have runner beans, beetroot, carrots, red onions, lettuce, purple sprouting and sunflowers growing.  I'm proudest of the runner beans, only cos they seem to grow the quickest so have the best results ....

ahhh how cute is he? :D

Debbie is the host of the DP2 challenge this week and has decided on the theme ...
"I see SPOTS" w/ a Mo Image!

This weeks Sketch Saturday is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp , they are offering one lucky winner a $25 gift certificate :D/.  All you have to do is follow the sketch below ....

My card ....

I used the fab Mo Manning "Soaking Up The Joy" she is one of my favourite images.  I still can't look at her too closely though after my godmother pointed out that she had a battery operated pleasurable device in her right hand :|

.... again I printed her naked on the inside of the card, along with a little verse ...

Heard You're Feeling Wrung Out .... Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ Creature Comforts

*Listen*  ... it's amazingly quiet here ... DH has taken the mutt to the park for playtime and i'm left here all alone making the most of my playtime before the nutter puppy and hubby return.   I've finally had chance to finish a card that's been sat on the table since Sunday.  I found a brill sketch to follow and now can't for the life of me remember which blog its from  :-? LOL!

We've now done 3 sessions of Chemo with only 1 session left :) .  It was decided yesterday that the strength of the Chemo should be reduced by 10%, this hopefully will give Dad some quality of life in between now and his next session, rather than him being bed bound for a fortnight.  So let's [-o< it works.  Yesterday was the longest day ever, or so it seemed.  I did  6 hours at the hospital with Dad and by the end of it I was feeling physically :-&.  We did however still manage to have a giggle whilst we were there, but once home I had to jump in the shower and put the old jim jams on, I was more than ready to I-) for a week or two.

So onto this weeks PTW  Challenge ... you can use any other animal, cute or otherwise as the challenge is ...

Creature Comforts

so any lil critter you want to use is fine.
This challenge is sponsored by ....

Hearing Voices In My Stethoscope .....

In the grand scheme of things this week has been fairly uneventful.  Dad only had one hospital appointment and it wasn't a procedure!  It was his Pre-Assessment appointment prior to the start of his Chemotherapy next Thursday.  He was on top form and performed beautifully to his captivated audience.  Not much serious talking and far too much laughter really LOL!  But then its his positivity that's keeping us all going.  I've also been asked to design his "Funeral Program" ... talk about feeling obliged to do something!  I have to admit i'm finding it extremely difficult to do, but he has me over a barrel LOL!!!  I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to Jo who has offered to help me out with cluster frames.  I decided I would design some and use on the back page .... Pfft, hadn't got a clue how to do them or where to start, just thought they look pretty L2MQ, didn't realise it'd be that difficult!

Anyway its Saturday again and means just one thing .... Its time for SKETCH SATURDAY.  This weeks fabulous sketch has been designed by my gorgeous, kind, caring, generous teamie TERRY.  She has designed a brilliant sketch and arranged the most fantastic prize too from a very generous sponsor who is offering copious amounts of goodies!

They are ...

Art Journey is the most specialised, but above all the cosiest (online) StampStore in Holland.  The Website has 3 different languages, so therefore is accessible for everyone. Service and quality are very important to Louisse for her store. Visit the online webstore through http://www.artjourney.nl and you will see lots and lots of yummie stuff that we crafters really really need (LOL).

Art Journey offers a wide range of goodies for all crafters.

Besides lots and lots of common craft products, they also have their own stamps!
If you have the opportunity to visit the Store in Sleen (in the Netherlands) then Louisse and Liesbeth will be very happy to say Hi to you during a workshop or in the store itself.  Don't hesitate to come on over to the online webstore or to the store in Sleen and you will find lots of yummie stuff. Terry went there yesterday to in with a workshop and had a great time ...

The fabulous prize on offer is .....

This fabulous stamp sheet is called "Boys"  How adorable is that .... definitely need this for my boys!

This stamp sheet is called "Birds"

You can rotate it or flip it, but follow the sketch ....

I wanted to make yet another card for my Dad ... he's not going to have room on his mantelpiece at this rate L2MQ ... It's just a "stay strong during your treatment" card!  I used Teddy Bo Doctor for my card ... a huge THANK YOU to Terry who made this card possible x

Sh*t Happens

Sh*t happens ... hmmm, what an apt sentiment for our lives at the minute!  For those of you that don't know, my Dad has been diagnosed with stage 3 Adenocarcinoma of the left lung.  His prognosis isn't that good and with treatment he has a minimum of 12 months left with us.  Which will go by in no time at all because you want it to go slow!

My parents have adopted the "Sh*t happens" approach to this horrible disease and can be heard saying it in nearly every conversation they have LOL.  Dad has said that he refuses to give in and be beaten by this, he says he's not ready to go just yet.  His positivity gives us hope.

As soon as i saw this image i just knew what i wanted to make with it and who i wanted to make a card for ...

Isn't he adorable?  He is one of Mo's new creations ...

The fantastic sentiment was created especially for me by Paulette at Create with TLC

and i used the cute little image again on the inside but left it black and white.

To make the rest of the card I used:-

For Paula ...

This card i made a few weeks ago for my gorgeous real life friend Paula. I've set myself a bit of a mission really, to make sure that whilst she's unwell i shall send her lots of cards LOL! I'm beginning to run out of cat images/stamps, cos i've used something with a cat on for each card up to now.
Paula is in hospital at the minute undergoing stem cell replacement (she has Crohn's disease) in the hope that at some point she will be Crohn's symptom free. Since we met Paula 9 yrs ago (love at first sight LOL) she's been in and out of hospital and spent weeks being unwell. She has to get really sick before she gets better and could potentially have some rough weeks ahead of her. But here's hoping that this is all gonna be worth it and one of our dearest friends is back on her feet soon!
