I blinked ;;) and it was Saturday again ... where has the past couple of weeks gone?  I know I've been busy firstly doing =(( bedside vigils for a week with Dad and then helping Mum sort the funeral, make 100 funeral programmes and the million :)] calls that have to be made, sorting finances and informing different people/places/departments.  It's been that hectic  and I've been so (:| tired that I've not had time to post the last 2 weeks cards for the SS challenges on this blog .. but I promise over the next few day I will try too.

The Lord Will Guide You Always ... Card Pattern #138 & DP2 Challenge #106

I really don't want to jinx things by saying this week ain't been too bad up to now!  :) ... We've had a GP, District Nurse and a St Giles Nurse visit already and its only Wednesday!  We've got a cupboard full of "just in case" drugs awaiting the need for a syringe driver :| ... the good news is ... Dad isn't sick enough to be even considered for one of those yet :D

I've got a much needed day off today. DS is at the oldies this morning cleaning and DN (niece) is off down there to play dominoes :-B  I've already been to the opticians for a sight test and also took DGN (darling great niece) for her's too.  We also did a spot of retail therapy and managed to bag a right bargain and a whole outfit for her to wear at the grandbabies Christening \:D/ ... which cost under £15 and consisted of a Wallis jumpsuit and all the accessories ... OK so it didn't include shoes and handbag, but it did include ... bracelet, belt, ring and headband thingy ... and i pushed the boat out and treated myself to some knickers from good old Primark! :">

Moving swiftly on to the fab sketch produced by Card Pattern's and sponsored by Catherine Pooler  I made a card for Rylee for his Christening.

The Challenge over at DP2 is ... "Any Holiday or Celebration"

I used John drawn by the fantastic Mo Manning at Digital Pencil Too

and again on the inside of the card in just it raw form ...

Sketch Saturday Challenge #111

Boy did i have a job with this weeks sketch .... no matter how hard i tried it just wouldn't seem to fit ... i did however persevere and managed to make a card ... it definitely was a challenge this week!

This weeks challenge is sponsored by the fantastic Simon Says Stamp.

To make this card i used:-
CS ~ Stash
DP's ~ Bearly Mine Flower Delight
Image ~ Digital Pencil Too ~ Baby Flora Fairy
Sentiment ~ Create with TLC ~ Sparkle and Shine
Ribbon, Flowers, Pearls, Hook and Eyes ~ Stash
Tools ~ Sewing Machine, Pencil Crayons, Blending Stumps No.0, Diamond Stickles, Sakura Glaze Pens (Orange & Yellow)

Poor Rylee has chicken spots (pox) as he calls them, bless him ... he's really suffering at the minute.  I've never seen so many spots on a childs face before and some on his body are enormous.  Its his birthday on Tuesday too and he's supposed to be having a party this Sunday!

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks challenge is to make a card using the sketch below, which is another one of Katharina's. Fae and Scott are off to a wedding on Saturday and they asked me to make a card for the occasion, so I thought it'd use Katharina's fab sketch to do that. Here's is my interpretation... CS ~ stash, pp ~ dont remember where I downloaded it from sorry! Image was part of a RAK, blooms and brads ~ stash and sentiment is a stamp that I've had forever and have no idea where it came from! I coloured the image using watercolour pencils and H2O's and added some glamour dust to the centre of the flower.

I was also asked to make a card for a naming ceremony and this is what I did today too....
I used Raspberry Road Designs ~ My Baby Love, Girl printed directly on to CS from Crafts Central, its the linen look card. I embellished with gems, hearts and flowers and added ribbon so that it could be tied up like this ....

I made the flowers using 2 flower punches and then added punched leaves. Then, to finish it all off I made a little box to put it in...
I never know how much to charge for the cards I make and I'm definately thinking I've underpriced myself on this one ~ £4!

Just wanted to leave you with one last photo that I took today of Rylee...
He's going to be really pleased we're his grandparents when he's a teenager, don't ya think lol!

Exploding Box!

My first attempt at an exploding box and i'm hooked!

I was asked to make a Christening card much like the ones I've done before, but you know how it is ... I was bored of making them. So on the off chance that the person who specifically asked for a name card would like something different I set off with this creation. I found instructions here http://glitteradventure.blogspot.com/2006/11/exploding-box-class.html which I found easy to follow and started printing papers from Pink Petticoat and Crafters Companion Cds. I dont think its too bad for a my first try.
