Nascar and Stampin' Up

I have a few friends that are Stampin' UP demos and are also Nascar fans. Well, yesterday I was at the Nationwide race in Richmond, VA and we get pit passes for that race because you can see both Nationwide and cup car drivers all in the same day and if you are lucky, you can get their autograph. I have gotten a lot throughout the years but I never really aimed for Nationwide drivers but I took a liking to a driver Justin Allgaier.
Here is a pic of Justin just after qualifying for Nationwide in Richmond.

Here is a pic of Justin's car as it is being rolled out to pit road after inspection.

I had made up a Top Note pad of sorts to get autographs on and when I held it out for him to sign, he looked up and asked are you a stamper? And I said yes and he said Stampin' Up! and I said yes and I asked him how in the world would a Nascar driver at the age of 24 know about Stampin' UP. He told me he recognized the top note die and that his wife does Stampin Up. I asked if she was here and he pointed her out to me and I went and talked to her. She says she gets him to help her all the time when she has lots of items to do. Here name is Ashley Allgaier. She was so nice. So all you women out there, tell them this story. I mean, Nascar drivers are one of the busiest people I know. So now I have another reason to like Justin as a driver because he also helps his wife with Stampin' Up. That could be a big story for Stampin' UP. It would reach a whole set of new people. It also shows that by using SU products, you never know who you will meet.

Here I am showing Ashely my Top Note Autograph book.

Here she is telling me the story of how she get Justin to help her and about the last project they did for a Baby Shower and it used the top note die which is probably why he recognized it.

Nascar

Kasey got third tonight and moved from 12th to 8th in the points for the chase. Only 7 more races until the chase. He should do really well next week. I am so excited.

Happy Independence Day

I will be celebrating the 4th tonight by watching the fireworks at the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona. Go Kasey. I hope he makes it into the top 12 tonight. He is only one point out. Have a good weekend.

Nascar Weekend at RIR (Richmond International Raceway) VA

The first picture is of Kenny Wallace during a Q&A session and I got to ask him a question. The second is my driver Kasey Kahne watching qualifying before he qualified... but he did horrible or I should say the car did horrible in the race tonight. And the last picture is of my daughter Charlotte by Mark Martin's Nationwide Car. If you go to my Facebook page, I have all my pic's I took on there.

Nascar Weekend

This is Nascar weekend in Richmond for us so I will not be doing any craft stuff this weekend. Yesterday I took my daughter for the Nationwide race and my least favorite driver won. But Charlotte loved going into the pits seeing the cars and drivers up close and personal . We had a lot of fun and the weather turned out perfect. It was supposed to rain. Today it is really supposed to rain and my favorite driver Kasey Kahne is racing in this race. Lets pray that is clears up by race time. Last year both races were rained out and they ended up having both of them on Sunday. Not a fun day - overload on racing and I love racing. I will upload some pics when I can.

Kasey and the Daytona 500

Kasey begins 15th in a field of 43. I guess we will just have to see after 500 miles. It could have been a lot worse.

Bud Shootout

As you can tell by my picture, I am a Kasey fan. They just finished the Bud Shootout and Kasey came in 6th which isn't bad but he could have done better. He qualifies 2nd tomorrow for the Daytona 500 and that isn't good. His car for the Shootout is much better than his car he will drive for the 500. He was lousy in practice yesterday and going out 2nd is qualifying is like suicide. But he did dodge a few big ones tonight so we will have to see. That race was only 75 laps and 28 cars. The 500 is 500 laps and twice as many cars.

Lowe's Motor Speedway

Just got back from a long fun weekend of Nascar racing in Charlotte, NC. (Actually it was in Concord, but we stayed in Downtown Charlotte). Had a blast. But I am really tired.
