The haps...

So, I feel like not alot new has gone on here, but if I don't blog about something, I'll feel like a total
lame-o sooooooooooooooo......

The boys have been out of school for not quite a month and haven't driven me completely crazy yet. Good news right? We haven't done anything really fun that's noteworthy, but we plan on it. I think a bunch of us are going to rent out the pool at the Mesquite Rec Center one of these days and take all our kids.  Also, next week, we are taking a girls day out to go have dinner and watch Eclipse. Should be a good time!

Tyson is working on getting ready for his braces. They put an expander in his top jaw and it's for sure working...this is the look he's sporting right now, no joke...

Well, he doesn't have that good a tan, but you get the idea ;)

It's seriously working so fast, he hasn't even had it in for 2 weeks and the amount of expansion is crazy. We go back to have it checked on Wednesday and I'm hoping they'll tell us to stop turning it, I can barely take the kid serious anymore lol.

This past weekend Ryan had his little basketball camp. It's put on by these 2 fabulous ladies, Kalee and Jess and they did a great job! He had a great time and said it was the best basketball camp he has ever been to. For the record, it was the only camp he's ever been to, but we'll go with it... It was just a short, 2 day, 4 hour total camp. Tyson is going to one by them as well towards the end of this week. His will be longer, 3 days, 5-3 hour sessions. Tyson is especially excited to have someone to teach him some skills he needs to continue to play underneath. I think it will be really good for him.

We went as a family to see Toy Story 3 yesterday for Father's Day. Highly recommend it! Very cute. We went for Mexican food beforehand and it was delicious as usual! We had a little time to spare, so we went to this little department store they have there. While perusing the kids clearance section (not sure why, even Tyson and Ryan can't wear kids sizes anymore...) I found myself this nice pair of nikes for less than $20!

Mine are this style, except they are red instead of pink and they also have some black mixed in. Actually, back in April when we were at Disneyland, I saw a lady wearing this exact pair and had been on the lookout for them ever since. It always pays to be able to wear kids size shoes! :)

Well, that's about it! Hope everyone is having a good summer!

Tasty Tuesday!

One of the things we learned at our photoshop workshop the other day was how to make photocards. They would make great gifts too! I just found this linky party...

so I decided to link up with one of the cards I made. It's supposed to be printable and ready to go at 4 x 6 but I'm still learning, so if it isn't, I'm sorry!

Hoo am I?

So, my SIL has a new link party on Tuesdays that's kind of a get to know you type thing. A few weeks back she was asking my input on a link party and I told her I thought something like this would be fun. She has a weekly crafty link party, but as I've stated before, I'm not super crafty so I'm not able to participate in that one very often. ;)

So, each week, she posts a few questions. All those that participate can post them, along with their own answers on their blogs. We can then blog hop back and forth finding out more about our favorite bloggers and finding things that we might have in common! So, go on over and check it out for all the details!

Here are my answers for this week's questions!

1. If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass on to your children, what would it be?

It would definitely be how laid back and easy going I am, Jeremy is this way too, so I'm hoping it will for sure pass down. The boys are both already showing signs of it so hopefully we're good to go there!

2. What's your favorite candy bar?

I have to agree with Leslie on this one, Snickers for sure. Sometimes I go for  a Twix but it's usually snickers.

3. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Hawaii for sure!

4. What 3 adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

easygoing, trustworthy and awesome. ;)

5. In one word, how would your best friend describe you?

While she would definitely use the above words to describe me, I'm fairly certain she would add organized to that list!

Now come on everyone, go post your own answers and link up!

Lame-o!

So, here we are, over 2 weeks later! I always seem to get into these blogging slumps and once you're in one, it's kinda hard to get out! I think alot of it lately has to do with how much work I do on my giveaway blog, I feel like I don't have time to write on this one! These last few weeks have been nothing really new. The boys got out of school last week. They are glad for school to be out and to be able to hang out with their friends.

We all had dentist appts on Friday. Ryan had 2 adult teeth that were trying to push his baby teeth out but had been unsuccessful. Dr Brad told us they needed to be pulled. Ryan started to freak out. He had a traumatic experience with a children's dentist when he was younger, you can read a shortened version of it here. Anyways, so he's all nervous because for some reason, Dr Brad can't use the laughing gas. He kept braving up, then backing out, we finally talked him into the shots so he could start numbing up. He then decided he didn't know if he could do it, he knew he needed to, but was so scared. It's hard because I know he's afraid and completely untrusting after his bad experience, but it's also frustrating when it's something that has to be done and he's refusing. That being said, the poor kid was physically shaking! Anyone who knows Jeremy knows that he's not the most sympathetic guy.... So, after awhile, Ryan finally let the dr pull the first one. It was already fairly loose so it was no big deal. When it came time for the 2nd one, he told Ryan it was pretty secure and he'd need to use the pliers. Ryan freaked again and refused to let them anywhere near his mouth. So, our dentist, being the awesome guy that he is, gripped it as best he could with his fingers and was able to get it out. He totally had insta bruise on his fingers too, but he's good enough that he accomodated my crazed, scared child and didn't use the pliers on him when he was afraid.
So, other than that, nothing new. I did go to an awesome digiscrap workshop on Memorial Day. It was so fun! I'm waiting on one of the girls to send me some pictures and then I'll do a post about it!
