So, hopefully this will be Jeremy's first and last...

field sobriety test...lol. A little backstory...A few guys that we went to high school with are sheriff deputies here in town. So, one of them is a good friend of Jeremy's and came over earlier and wondered what Jeremy's plans were once he got home from work. I told him that he might be going to work out but other than that probably nothing...He said that there was a new deputy that was doing field training here in town...They needed Jeremy to pretend to be driving drunk and they wanted Jeremy to give the guy a REALLY hard time. Resisting, calling names, the whole bit....So of course Jeremy jumped right on that opportunity! I guess he gave the guy the hardest time and Derek (the training deputy) had the hardest time not busting up laughing during the whole thing. The guy was seriously ready to take Jeremy to jail! lol. I felt so bad for the guy, but I know that they need to do this training for their safety and to get experience but I still felt bad. So, at any rate, the kid told him that he did better at the role playing than the people at the police academy. The funniest part was, they had pulled him over less than a block from our house and I was laughing thinking of how the rumor mill will be going strong. Tons of people drove by and I'm sure witnessed the whole thing. Too funny. So not much else going on. I only had to go into work for a little bit yesterday to do payroll and I'm home the rest of the week. It's nice, but I do get bored. There is a restaurant that is reopening tomorrow here in town. It was here all while I was growing up and it burned down while I was in high school. They had the best food ever and I'm excited to be able to eat there again. Trisha and I are going to eat lunch there tomorrow and I'm pretty sure we will end up ordering from there for dinner too. We'll see. No big New Years plans for us. Just sleeping. I can't stay up past like 10 or I'm a complete raging B! (Although, some might say I'm a raging B during the daytime hours lol) So, we'll most likely be fast asleep as we start 2009. Hope everyone has a fun, safe holiday!

So glad Christmas is...

OVER! I love it, but when it's time to be done, it's time to be done. We had a good Christmas, it actually snowed on Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning which has never happened as long as I can remember living here. I've lived here for 20 years (I know, that makes me seem old right?) and this is the first time that I can recall having a white Christmas. Anyways, the kids were excited about it. We went to eat dinner at my mom's house on Christmas Eve like we always do. It was good times. Jamie and my dad didn't make it up til after we had come home because my dad didn't get off work til 6:30 that night. Of course we didn't sleep well on Christmas Eve, I never do...Plus, we had gated Macey in our room because I was afraid she would mess with the Santa stuff...She kept running to the gate and barking all night! I think that that boys were out here alot looking at their stuff in the night so I'm sure that's what had her all riled up. We got up a little after 5 to open gifts. Here is a pic of the Santa stuff before the kids got to it...Way too much stuff and still had a bunch to open under the tree! So, we opened all our gifts here. The DS's were a big hit, Ryan hasn't stopped playing his since Christmas Day! Also, the boys each got each other hats this year, they both loved them
Funny story too, see the sandals in front of Tyson? Well, Tyson knew that he had gotten Ryan a hat so to make him think he had gotten something else, I grabbed those sandals out of my closet. They are Doc Marten's that I'm pretty sure I got soon after I had Ryan...Anyways, I put them in the box so it would be really heavy, when he opened it up, he saw the hat and was excited, then he saw the sandals and was like, "What the?" Anyways, afterwards we headed up to my mom's house to open gifts because Jess and Eric and the kids had to head back to have their Christmas with Eric's family...Back at Thanksgiving, Tyson had watched Jeff Dunham's Christmas Special over at Grandpa's house. He's a ventriloquist and ever since then Tyson said that all he wanted for Christmas was a ventriloqiust doll...Well, Aunt Jamie came through in that regard... Creepy right? Jamie said she had it shipped to her office and then had to ride home with it in the car with her. Eek! I honestly don't know if Tyson has ever been more excited about a gift, ever! It's probably the ugliest thing that I've seen, but whatever. He insists that this is the "Best Christmas Ever" Afterwards, we stopped by Jeremy's parent's house and opened gifts there. We came home for awhile and were able to get all of our Christmas stuff taken down and stored away. I love to be able to get things back to normal. We went back to his parent's house that night for dinner and then came home and crashed. I was so tired. We went to Vegas yesterday to get my main Christmas present (okay, it was really my only present from Jeremy besides my Kitchenaid hand mixer...) After about 1/2 an hour in Sam's Club we emerged with this gem... We had actually looked at this one online and I wasn't too sure of the bronze color, but it's alot more subtle in real life. I was glad that I was able to get my 17" screen and also the number pad on the side. I got alot of cute clothes from my mom, and also a pair of comfy slippers and a super cute purse. I got gift cards and cash too. What could be better? This doesn't really pertain to Christmas, but I was thinking of it the other day and I want to post it so when I come back and read later, I'll remember it....When Ryan was about 4, my friend Kate was pregnant with her daughter Mikelle...Ryan was just a shorty then and was right about "belly" level with her... He looked up at her one day while he was over at her house playing with her boys and said so innocently..."Kate, you're starting to get fat!" lol. She was probably about 5 or 6 months along by then but I don't think I had even told him that she was even having a baby. Kids are so funny. He is still using his irish accent with a vengeance. The other day he was going on and on and so Jeremy started talking irish back to him. He's so funny about it because when he is talking that way, he'll totally use words that he wouldn't normally use...Like the other night Jeremy had asked him if he would help him pick up some tissues that he dog had shredded on the floor and Ryan replied..."Oh father, I'd be delighted to help ya!" lol. He's a strange one. Well, I hope everyone had a nice Christmas!

Slacking...

I haven't been the greatest on posting. It's been over a week! But what I really have been slacking on is reading private blogs! If they aren't on my "following" list, sometimes I forget to read them...I have found out some interesting tidbits from some friends...one's 19 month old threw up real throw up for the first time, another put an offer on a house...A certain tiny framed pregnant lady is busting out of a C cup and her sister in law finally caved and started Twilight, and is liking it! See what you miss out on when you aren't on the ball? So, last week was pretty busy. The boys had haircuts on Monday. Tuesday we had tithing settlement. Wednesday we had the boys Christmas program at school...It was cute and my favorite part was that we were in and out in under an hour (and that was even with Jeremy taking time to stop and talk to every person we saw.) We had snow pretty much off and on all week..It's supposed to snow more this week, we'll see if it actually sticks. I am off work for the rest of the week so that should be good. We had the Christmas program at church on Sunday. I love it. I wish we could have that every Sunday. I usually enjoy music much more than talks. In fact, poor Tyson said the other day that sacrament meeting was worse than school! It was high council Sunday, but still...Well, I need to finish getting ready. I hope everyone has a great Christmas! I'm really going to try and remember to charge my camera battery so that I'll be able to post pics of our loot in a few days.

Dreaming of a white christmas?

Not really! It snowed during the night which we were expecting but I'm not a huge fan. I like it if I don't have to go out in it, but you come in, you track snow all over, which then melts into water and translates into dirty wood floors! Oh well, what can you do? So, another thing, I have to drive Jeremy's truck today because my car is real wheel drive and I would rather not smash into a telephone pole. I don't have far to get to work, but I would really rather not take the chance. There isn't that much, but if it snows all day, I don't want to have to drive the car home in it...so I'm cruising in this beast for the day...
So I'll have to go fire it up, lock in the hubs, etc to get it into 4 wheel drive! Oh well! So, Macey's surgery went fine. We had to drop her off early so that meant leaving the house early. We left here around 6 and after we had gotten into Vegas we can hear her throwing up in her carrier, great! Awhile later, Tyson says he is gonna throw up, I don't know if he actually did, or just gagged into a plastic bag...About 15 min later it's Ryan's turn...But he did throw up a bunch in a bag! I wonder when they are going to grow out of this carsick problem! So, we got Macey dropped off and headed to our dentist appt. Ryan has had a loose tooth for awhile now, it was one that was closer to the back of his mouth, it was a small molar...So, the dr says that the other tooth was starting to grow in so that's what was pushing the other one out. So, we all got our teeth cleaned and looking good. The boys played some guitar hero while they were waiting for Jeremy and I to finish up...The dentist showed them some youtube videos. It's always a fun adventure at the dentist office! Afterwards, we headed over to the orthodontist. They did put Ryan's appliance back in which he was less than thrilled about, but he told Ryan that maybe he can have it removed for good in the spring. They also love it at the orthodontist's office because they have PSP's that they can play with while they are waiting or getting worked on. So, after we finally got done with all of that, we headed to my sister's house. We dropped the boys off and Jeremy and I went to Rubio's and got some lunch and then headed out shopping. We didn't have too much to do so that was good. My dad went over and visited with the boys. They had pizza, watched football, he showed them google earth to look up cool stuff, he showed them his massive scar from his surgery! Good times were had by all! After shopping we just headed over to my sister's house to wait to pick up Macey. We headed over at about 4:30 and all the girls at the office were going on and on about how sweet Macey is...They said "We've all been carrying her around like a baby because she is so sweet and she'll just let you hold her all day" lol. She is sweet in that way, she likes to cuddle, but it seems like when she isn't cuddling, she's into presents or something! lol. So, we headed home, she just laid on my lap on a soft blanket the whole way home. Since she got home, she's been fine. She's been jumping and running just like normal. I've been giving her pain meds still, they said to give them to her til they are gone, but she doesn't seem like she needs them. She has to wear the lamp shade thing on her head. I feel so bad because her ear or face will itch and she tries to scratch it with her back leg, and she can't get to it because of the stupid plastic thing! Oh well. Well, I better go get Jeremy's truck fired up and ready to go!

Bored to death!

So, here I am at work, blogging. Shameful I know, but I really have absolutely NOTHING to do! Thursdays are supposed to be my half day, but my boss asked me if I could work all day today. I at least have a TV in here, although there isn't much on. Too bad I don't have my DVR up here or I could be catching up on some of my shows. I have been so tired lately, the other night I was asleep before 9. I'm not sure what the deal is. Just tired I guess. We have to go to Vegas tomorrow. Macey is getting spayed, we can drop her off between 7 and 8:30. Then we have dentist appts and the boys have orthodontist appts right after that. My dad is still off of work so he is going to go to my sister's house and visit with her and the boys while Jeremy and I finish shopping. It shouldn't take us too long. Hopefully if we get Macey there first thing then they will call us in the early afternoon to go and pick her up. I feel bad that she is going to not feel good for awhile after the surgery, but what can you do? I felt the same way when both of the boys had their tonsils out, but they are better off and I know she will be too. She has been such a naughty buns lately. She keeps digging in the yard, she got into the presents under the tree, I tried gating her in a certain area with a baby gate and she jumped out! I have no idea how, but she did. I had 2 larger snowmen and 2 smaller snowmen sitting in front of the tree and she drug the little ones off. Ryan said he thinks they are under his bed. One of the larger ones that we have sings and dances if you push a button on it, the other day I heard it start up and I went out there and she was trying to drag it away too! Naughty! I'm hoping that once she is spayed it will help with her puppy behavior. We'll see. So, some of you have heard about Ryan's "Irish Prayer" the other night. It was time for family prayer and it was his turn and he started out so well...."Dear Heavenly Father, We're so very grateful for this beautiful day today..." Great prayer right, except he was saying it with a full irish accent. He is too much like his dad lol. It was so funny, I keep thinking about it all week and it's cracking me up everytime. I had to stop him and make him start over because there is no way I could be serious with him talking like that. Well, I better get back to "work" lol. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Not again!

So, we're sitting at my mom's house today and Ryan was eating a piece of Twizzler's licorice...All of a sudden he starts freaking out and pointing inside his mouth...I was thinking that his loose tooth that he tells us about multiple times a day (this will make #12 lost I think?) had come out, but no, it was his stupid orthodontic appliance! And this time, it came all the way out! Ugh. Dumb thing. Luckily, we have appts this Friday so I we can get it cemented in again....Not too much new going on. I'm so stuffed, Jeremy just made us rib eyes, mashed potatoes and gravy and salad for dinner. Plus, I've been eating sugar cookies that my mom made all day. They are irresistable and even as stuffed as I am, I'll probably eat more later! Now, Jeremy just got done cleaning up the dinner mess and he's been washing towels all day! I don't mind laundry, but I hate towels. Mostly because putting them away is a pain, there never seems to be enough room to store them...but, Jeremy used the last washcloth when he showered today...and we have ALOT of washcloths! I guess it was time. So, I'm about done shopping, I just have to buy for my one BIL and then a few stocking stuffers. We'll be in Vegas on Friday so hopefully I can get it all finished up then. It has finally gotten cold here, well, to me anyways. Jeremy never thinks it's cold. He actually had ordered some stuff from Tilly's the other day and when I opened it up it was a beanie and a pair of board shorts. Who orders those two things at the same time? He does of course. He swears that he would wear board shorts and flip flops everyday if he could. I have to quit wearing flip flops in like August or my feet are eternally frozen. Well, hope everyone has had a good weekend so far!

It's beginning to look...

and sound alot like Christmas...First, a picture of the tree. We got it up on Saturday!

Now, for Ryan's recital...His first song was Scooby Doo, Where are You?

Next, he played Away in a Manger...He was so nervous for all of it, he kept whispering to me, "I don't know if I can do this..." But he did such a good job...

His last song was Oh Come all ye Faithful, my favorite!

All of the kids did such a good job. Here is a picture of the whole group...Kate and I have been good friends for about 4 years and she does such a good job teaching the kids...

This is Ryan's "incentive" for finishing this session of piano. He was so excited to get it, he loves Indy!

Kate had these ornaments made for the kids, they turned out so cute!

So, there you have it!

Thanksgiving recap...

So, thanksgiving came and went! It was kind of stormy leading up to it. I got a call from Jeremy's sister on Tuesday. She was subbing at the Elementary and Ryan had come and told her that his orthodontic applicance had come loose on one side. So, I had to call the orthodontist and get an appt for the following morning. I didn't want it to end up breaking off over the
holiday. That thing was expensive and our insurance only paid a portion of it. So, he and I headed out first thing Wednesday morning. It rained the whole way to Vegas and the whole time we were there too. Ryan boycotted at the orthodontist and about got his butt beat. He has this fear that I think stems from when he was about 3...We had taken him to our regular dentist and he had some cavities so he referred us to a children's dentist because he didn't have nitrous oxide at his office at the time....Well, long story short, Ryan was scared of the mask, so they just held him down and drilled and filled with no numbing or pain relief of any type. He screamed and screamed and I'm pretty sure he's scarred for life from it! So, after about 20 minutes I talked him into letting them take a look and they were able to re cement it in. Both of the boys have to go back in 2 weeks so hopefully it won't be an ordeal then too. We hit wal mart, vons and taco bell and then headed home. We got home around 1 and I had a haircut appt at 2 so once I got done with all of that, I came home and started on some leftovers...No matter where we are eating, I always make a turkey breast, potatoes, stuffing, etc. here so that we can have leftovers whenever we want them. Thanksgiving day Jeremy got up and went an played football for 2 hours and then we went and ate dinner at his parent's house. We just lounged the rest of the day. Friday, Jeremy decided he wanted to go to Mesquite and eat at the Mexican restaurant there and do a little shopping. Of course the kids didn't want to go so they stayed home and played with the cousins and we left. We got a little more shopping done. I still have a little bit to get, but I'm not sure when I'll do that. There are only 3 more Saturdays before Christmas and the next time I'll be in Vegas, we'll have the kids with us. I might have to leave them with Jess while we go and get the last few things....Ryan has his piano recital on Tuesday night so I'll post the video after that. I'm hoping he'll keep up with it after Christmas break. He's getting a really cool reward after the recital so maybe after he sees what I got him, it will give him more incentive to keep going with it. The funny thing is, every time he gets sent to his room (which seems to be alot lately) we'll hear him start to practice while he's in there. He also knows a really simple version of Jingle Bells by heart, but it seems like he keeps jazzing it up a bit. He for sure has a knack for it so my fingers are crossed that he'll keep it up, and maybe talk Tyson into starting up again too!

Update, movie review....

So, my dad is doing quite a bit better. He had the surgery on Wednesday night and is finally today able to have some liquids! Pure torture if you ask me. They had given him a little bit of ice chips twice during all this time. I remember what that was life after having c sections. Horrible! So, we went and saw him on Saturday. Luckily, the surgeon came in just after we had gotten there. He said that the mass that they had removed was indeed colon cancer. The good news was that they had removed quite a few lymph nodes as well and had determined that it had not spread and that it was a Stage 1 cancer. He will have to have chemo once he is feeling better, which he is so not looking forward to, but they need to make sure it's all the way out of his bloodstream. Hopefully it won't be too strong since they have removed the mass. He is just scared it will make him too sick to work I think. But, today was a milestone, the dr said that he had to fart before he could have any liquids...(Which normally for my dad would be no problem! lol) and we got word that that had finally happened today so hopefully he will be home within a few days. Still not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving. If he is home in time, my sister wants us to come down there, but still not sure what will happen...I'm hoping we can make a decision tonight. Now, for the movie review...It was so good! Worth breaking my 10 year movie theater drought for. I think I went in not expecting to love it so maybe that's why I did. Wasn't excited for Edward's casting, but Trisha and I ended up thinking he was cuter and cuter as the movie went on. It made me like Jacob more than I originally had....Anyways, I was quite pleased with it and would possibly even pay another $7-$8 to see it a second time before it comes out on DVD (Which is estimated to be in April) So anyways, it was a good time for all. We had to save like 16 seats at the theater, luckily we didn't have to throw down with anyone for them! Jeremy's sister found out she is having a 3rd boy. She was pretty surprised because she had been feeling like it was a girl, she was even more surprised to find out that she is due almost a month before she had originally thought! Now, she and Jeremy's brother's wife are due within just a couple days of eachother! Ryan is hoping one or both of the babies is born on his birthday. We'll have to see what happens. It's kind of freaking me out because Ryan is turning 8 on a Friday and I wanted to have his baptism the following day. Now I feel like I can't plan in case there are babies being born. I'm not sure what to do since I always like to plan everything and don't like to feel like I'm not in control of the plan lol. Oh well! We'll see what happens!

If it's not one dad, it's another...

So, Jeremy's dad is feeling better and better each day...Now it's my dad that is having problems...For the past little while, he has been having fainting spells and they had done some blood tests and found he was anemic. They knew he was losing blood somewhere internally, but weren't sure where. He had a colonoscopy on Tuesday to see what they could find. He started having pain in his side Wednesday so he went over to the hospital. They realized that they had perforated his colon during the procedure the day before and admitted him right away for emergency surgery. Apparently the day before, they had told him that they had found a mass and wanted to admit him right then for surgery to remove it. He didn't tell any of us because he doesn't want us to worry! Ugh! So, he told them that he couldn't because he lived alone and didn't have anyone to take care of his dogs. He also wanted to see if it was cancer, if it had spread, he wanted to only have to go into surgery once. So, they repaired the damage they had done the previous day and also removed the mass. Last I had heard, they hadn't confirmed if it was cancer or not. I was in town today, but didn't go to see him, he is really out of it and doped up on a morphine pump. We are going into Vegas on Saturday and we'll go see him then. So, if you could keep him in your prayers that would be great. I'm not sure what this will do with our Thanksgiving plans. He should be out of the hospital in time for Thanksgiving but I doubt he will be able to travel so I'm not sure if we will go down to Vegas and have dinner at my sister's house or not. I guess we'll just have to see what happens. I'm heading to Mesquite tomorrow for dinner and a movie (Twilight, what else...) with some friends. I haven't been to a movie at the theater since I was pregnant with Tyson. Sad right? Not really, I can usually wait til it comes out on DVD. But for this one, I'll make an exception, let's just hope it lives up! lol.

Family pics...

First off, before I get posting about the pictures, Jeremy's dad had to head back over to the hospital tonight. He had the procedure the other day to help get his heart get back into a normal rhythym and it worked well. But, he has had a history of gout and he got it bad again. It's causing him so much pain that his heart was racing and his blood pressure was sky high. We think this is what's causing it anyways, but regardless, he had to head back over there. I'm thinking it might be a good thing, no one likes to stay in the hospital, but when you are in that kind of pain, it's better managed there and when pain is having that kind of effect on you after a heart procedure, it's better for him to be there. So, if you could spare a prayer, that would be great. So, I took Macey in for her appt at the vet. They gave her a rabies vaccination and I scheduled her spay for December 12th. It will suck because I'll have to drop her off at like 8 and then wait clear til 5 to pick her up, but what can you do. Hopefully they will get her done early and get her woken up and feeling better so maybe I won't have to leave as late...I hate getting home late, I usually try to be home by no later than 6 when I go to town. We'll see I guess...So, we had family pictures at 9 this morning. They went pretty well..Here are my 2 top picks, let me know which one you think is better....

I really like this one...Our smiles are all collectively better in this one, it's the sun on our heads that I'm unsure of...Or there is this one...
It's cute, Ryan's smile is a little off, but not bad...So, I'm not sure what I'll choose. I did get some of the boys alone, but I haven't chosen my favorites yet, they are at such a hard age...So, Jeremy and Tyson went down to the high school football game today. It was a playoff game to determine who would go to state. Our team won 128-72...Seems like a basketball score moreso than one from a football game...State is next Saturday in Vegas and I think Jeremy wants to go so we'll see what happens. Well, I better go, Ryan is cleaning everything in sight, I have no idea why. He has the pledge multisurface cleaner and has cleaned all the tv's, the mirror in my room, the back of the chair I'm sitting on and who knows what else!

Sooooooo...

I've kind of been in a blogging funk, well, more like laziness I guess...I have things to blog about, just don't want to take the time to do it. So, Jeremy and I only made it as far as Mesquite on Saturday...I woke up with the worst headache ever and was so sick all day...But we were able to go get a few things that we needed...We were supposed to have family pictures on Tuesday, but Melinda had a small mishap at her house involving her 5 year old, some stitches and x rays so we are shooting for Saturday morning instead...Jeremy's dad had his procedure today and it went well. Hopefully he'll just keep feeling better and better as the days go on...I've got to go to Vegas on Friday to get Macey her rabies shot. Hopefully she'll ride okay in the car, Teddy has always gotten carsick so hopefully she will be alright. I'm taking the boys with me so that they can keep her occupied on the ride there and back. I had to bribe Tyson with lunch at Red Robin since he DETESTS shopping of any kind...Teddy and Macey both got groomed on Tuesday morning and they are so cute and fluffy. I would take pictures, but once again, as usual, my camera battery is dead! Tyson quit piano a few weeks ago. It was becoming too much of a struggle, I wish he would have stuck with it, but I don't think the fighting everyday is worth it. Ryan is still doing it until the recital, but hopefully after having a little break during the holidays, he'll be willing to start up again. I'm hoping Tyson will too. He's really good and he picks it up really fast. Oh well. I told him that I guess when Fall Out Boy needs a new keyboardist, he won't be up to par to apply! lol. Ryan is playing 3 songs for the recital. I'll post videos of them once it's all said and done (which isn't until Dec 2nd). He's playing Scooby Doo, Where are You?, Away in a Manger and O Come All Ye Faithful (Which is my favorite Christmas song ever!) I was so excited when Kate told me that she had chosen it for the recital...It's always been my favorite and he does such a good job. It's just a really simple version, but it's so cute. Anyways, speaking of Christmas music, I keep wanting to listen to it. I can't wait til DirecTV switches one of their music stations to it so that I can listen all day at work. I'm almost done shopping for the boys, I just need to get Ryan one more thing...Who knows, I'll most likely end up getting more anyways!

What's up and a fun game...

So, not much new this week. We ended up postponing our family pics until Veteran's Day so I'll post those next week...Ryan is recovered from whatever was ailing him on Monday...Wednesday a bunch of us got together and played volleyball at the gym. It was so fun but now we are so sore! Especially because I kept diving all over the place. I have a huge bruise about the size of a softball on my knee. I'm seriously picking up a pair of knee pads tomorrow. Anyways, Jeremy about killed Jason during the game....Jeremy went to spike it and it hit Jason in the head so hard, his face was super red the rest of the night. Fun times. Anyways, Jeremy and I are gonna go to St. George tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to get some more Christmas shopping out of the way. I was able to get all that I had done already wrapped yesterday afternoon so it will be ready to go once we have a tree up...Well, here is a fun game that Tonia and Ang have done on their blogs..Have a good weekend...

Halloween Hangover?

So, Ryan is home throwing up, I was hoping it was just from eating too much Halloween candy, but he's still sick so I'm guessing that's not the case. Anyways, Halloween was good. It started out with the stuff at the school on Thursday. I went at noon to help with their station rotation. I was in the same group as my friend Em so we were able to visit a bit. I did see more than my fair share of booger eating (Ugh, kids are so gross lol) but it was a good time. Then it was time for the costume parade. Trisha and her SIL Becky and I parked at the church and sat on the grass waiting for the parade to come by. Here are a few pics of the kids...I have no idea why Ryan looks like such a goober in the pic, maybe it's just the age...So, Halloween day...It was overcast all day and actually ended up raining most of the time. Not so much a rain, more of a drizzle. But I'm sure it helped all of the kids cool off in their hot costumes. This was Tyson's first year that he went out Trick or Treating with just his friends. They left about 5:30 or so and hit a few houses. Then they went to the carnival for a bit and then went to a few more houses. I had told him that he had to be home no later than 9 so I was surprised when he got home a little after 8. He had a good time, I guess they were just done. Jason and Leslie came down so Jason and Jeremy took Ryan, Brock and Ben trick or treating and Leslie and I stayed and passed out candy. Saturday Leslie and I ended up going to Vegas to get some Christmas shopping done. We got home about 6 and then Jeremy and I had to clean the chapel. It was our family's turn so we headed down there. Jeremy is so funny, he totally hates being in the church with no lights on...I figure that would be one of the least scary places to be in the dark, but he feels differently...

I don't want to think of a title. I know, lazy, but whatever....So, not much new going on here. Ryan's cold had been getting worse and worse, so I took him to the dr yesterday. He's got a pretty bad sinus infection so he is on an antibiotic to get it cleared up and he has a few different cough medicines too, one for day and one for night. He has been so funny lately...The other night we were at my mom's house and she had asked how everyone at church was...She said..."Is anyone sick or...." and then she paused waiting for me to answer and Ryan said..."Afflected"? We were dying laughing. I guess he pays attention when we pray for "all those who might be sick or afflicted..." lol. It was so cute. I about die laughing everytime I think about it. Also, today, he stayed home from school and since I was working, he stayed at my mom's house with my grandma. His cell phone wasn't charged (big surprise there) so I told him that he could call me on my work number if he needed anything. So I tried calling him and the machine picked up. I tried again after and it was busy so I figured that he had tried calling me back while I was calling him. I waited a few minutes and sure enough it beeped that there was a voicemail. The outgoing message at work says something like..."Hi, we're not in the office right now, leave your name, number and a brief message and we'll get back to you..." So I push 1 to hear the new message and it says..."Hi this is Ryan Jorgensen and my phone number is 725-3742. I just wanted to call my mom to tell her something...(picture about a 40 second pause here) K bye..." I about died. He sounded so sad yet so mature. I told him most adults don't leave that good of a message. What made it more funny is that he was at my mom's house but didn't even hesitate for a second when he gave her number instead of ours (BTW, that is my mom's real number so don't think about prank calling her, she'll hunt you down and kick your trash lol) So, those are Ryan's funnies for the week. So, has anyone used a netipot? It's this thing that you use to flush out your sinuses...It's kind of gross, but really works so good. Especially for Ryan who doesn't quite have the whole concept of blowing his nose down so good. So, Jeremy's brother Jason and his wife Leslie just found out they are having a girl today. Now we just have to wait another few weeks to see what Jeremy's sister Ang finds out...to see if we will get 2 little girls in the fam or one of each. They are due just a few weeks apart...So quite a bit of the family is coming to town for Halloween. Jason and Leslie and Brock are coming either tomorrow night or Friday and Jess and Jamie are coming up with the kids Friday and then Sam will ride up with Eric after they get off of work on Friday afternoon. Should be nice. We are getting family pictures on Saturday afternoon. We'll see how that goes...I'll post them as soon as I get them!

Talk about becoming a blogging...

LOSER! Here I am, slacking again....I'll try to get back in the game and start posting a bit more regular now...Here's a recap of this past week...I had decided to do a little more for FHE (usually we just do a short lesson out of our '52 weeks of family night' book) and I decided that I would do a lesson on Baptism since Ryan will be getting baptized in March. The lesson went well and I'm hoping that Ryan understands baptism a bit better now. During the lesson, Tyson asked a few questions about how repentance works so I think Jeremy is gonna teach a lesson about that tomorrow before we carve our pumpkins...Tyson had his last football game on Thursday. It will be nice to have him be able to eat dinner with us everynight again. Ryan and I had started coming down with colds on Monday and they still haven't gone away. We ended up getting flu shots on Tuesday so I don't know if our colds actually got worse, or if it was the side effects of the shot that made us feel worse. Jess and the kids came up on Wednesday so we got to hang out quite a bit. Saturday Jeremy decided that he wanted to go to Vegas. He wanted Mexican food and mangoes so I guess that's what we went for. Tyson stayed home because he had spent the night at his friend's house and then had a movie night to go to at another friend's later that night. Ryan came with us though so we headed straight to the mall. We ate at Chevy's and then did a little shopping. Afterwards we went to Costco and it was such a nightmare. It reminded me why I NEVER go there on a Saturday...I wanted to murder someone! In fact, today when we were walking out of church, we got behind some older people that were walking pretty slowly and Ryan said "Hey, mom...this is just like it was at Costco yesterday" He was right. Today at church was the Primary Program in sacrament. It's something I look forward to every year. I love seeing the kids up there singing their songs and the cute little ones saying their parts.

So, a few of you have asked what I'm sending the winner, I'll post the list after she gets it, I want it to be a surprise to her so I don't want to ruin that by posting it...So....stay tuned for that...So, our new car is a Pontiac G8 GT...I'm still loving it and not having much sadness over the Tahoe...I did love it, but I think it really was time for something new. We ended up taking it to Vegas yesterday (Jeremy and I both had the day off) to get the windows tinted...Jess came over with the kids and took us shopping while we waited for it to get done. We were able to go and eat some nice In N Out Burger too... Now the car has a nice dark limo tint and it will be much cooler to ride in when it's hot and sunny outside. Here is a pic of it with the tint, it looks so nice...

Once again, this pic had to be taken with my phone, I'm not so good with making sure the camera battery is charged...So, I've had to take the mean mom stance again...This time it has to do with dinner...I made Cheesy Brocolli Soup in breadbowls for dinner and Ryan doesn't like it. He keeps asking if he can have something else but I won't let him. He hasn't really said, but I'm sure he's mad at me about it...Jeremy's sister had to sub at the Elem School today so I had Ben and Jacob after I got off work at noon. Trisha came over to visit and have lunch and she was talking to Ben...This was their conversation...

Trisha: Ben, what does Uncle Jeremy call you? (She was looking for the answer "Milky" Ben has pure white hair and he is pale so Jeremy has called him Milky since he was tiny...)

Ben: Derelict (I don't even know if that's how you spell it...:)

Trisha: (While laughing) What else does Uncle Jeremy call you?

Ben: Numnuts...

It was HILARIOUS...He was totally straight faced too lol. Too funny. The sad thing is, they are both things that Jeremy calls him lol. Oh well.

So, I wanted to post this in case anyone has missed this gem of a blog...Seriously, So Blessed... This blog is HILARIOUS! It's a spoof and the girl is too funny. I know that alot of people have gotten offended over this blog, not knowing it was just a joke, but me, not being offended over anything...(Well, if you kicked my dog maybe, not the big one, but the puppy lol) LOVE IT! This post is one of my favorites...you can read it by clicking here Also, another of my favorite posts is from September, you can read it by clicking here....Anyways, read it if you need a laugh. I promise it won't dissapoint!

Farewells...Winners...

So, Jeremy drew the big winner out of a hat this morning....SissyAnn is the lucky winner...I would link you to her blog, but she is private. She's awesome and I know her through my message board. She works at the prison so that will tell you what a bad A she is lol. Also, my BIL Jason wanted to win this so bad, he actually commented. He wouldn't like any of the stuff I was giving away since it's all girl stuff so I'm going to send him a little something for being the only guy to comment...

So, yesterday Jeremy and I went to the temple. We hadn't been in just about 2 years! I know, that's so horrible. We only live about an hour away from the temple, I'm sure that there are people much farther from one than that who make a better effort than we do! We'll try to be better. We went to the St George temple. We had only ever been to one other session there and the last time we went, it seriously looked like people had risen from the grave to be there. I swear they were all at least 95...This time there were a ton of young people in the session. Afterwards we went over to the car dealership...We said goodbye to this old friend...
It was sad, because I did love it...But it was time for a change...We got one of these...

It looks just like this, only it's white. It's so nice. Love it. We've been wanting one for a long time even before they came out. They have alot of power. Jeremy kept romping on it, then I would be locked back to the seat in my seatbelt. He thought it was fun anyways...So tomorrow the kids have school but Jeremy and I both have the day off of work so we'll just be hanging out I guess. I'm excited because I bought this yesterday

I've been wanting to look into one for awhile now, and Rosie posted on her blog how great it was. Hopefully it can help keep the kids attention...Jeremy and I have been good about listening to it on our ipods but we haven't made the kids listen or read lately...

Tyson's eye is getting better but it's one of those things that looks worse than it did at first. Poor Ryan, we told the kids we would get them McDonalds on the way home...Ryan had been so excited waiting for it...We got home and opened it, they hadn't given him his cheeseburger! Poor guy, they did give him his toy and fries, but it wasn't the same. I think he ended up giving his fries to Tys anyways...

Ever get your trash kicked...

by a chin up bar? Tyson has...Yesterday Tyson had football practice at the children's park because the field that they usually practice on was flooded with irrigation water...So, about the time practice was supposed to start, he comes through the door holding his eye...It was huge and purple. I guess before practice started they were playing ball tag and he was running and looking behind him and when he turned around, he totally got clotheslined on a chin up bar. This pic was taken last night after he had been icing it for about 3 hours! I don't know if you can really tell from the pic, but the part that is red is completely huge and puffed up. It looks even worse today but luckily it doesn't hurt unless he pushes on it and he doesn't seem to be embarassed about it so off to school he went! I do feel bad though, it looks horrible! Luckily we weren't planning on family pics or anything! So, anyways, today is Jeremy's birthday! He is 29 today. We are supposed to be going to the temple on Saturday for his birthday but now he is in talks of trading in our Tahoe on that car we were looking at awhile back. We'll see what happens!
Also, don't forget to go to my last post and enter my giveaway. I promise it will be worth it!

Giveaway!

K, so I haven't done a giveaway in awhile so I thought it would be fun to do one. I'm going to be doing a giveaway of some of my favorite things...Just comment on this post by Saturday night and I'll post the winner on Sunday. So, we had a good weekend. Macey is doing pretty well, she still doesn't have the potty training thing down pat, but she's doing better. Jeremy decided he and Teddy aren't too strong in the "alliance" that they had supposedly formed against her because she and Teddy play all the time (even though Teddy acts like he doesn't like her) and Jeremy and her are "best buds" now according to him. They are such good buds that he keeps feeding her treats from jerky to french fries...cinnamon rolls to hamburger...He only gave her tiny tastes but I swear it made her poop more runny lol. The problem is, she isn't fully house trained and he doesn't have to clean it up! Here is a video of her and Teddy playing on the grass yesterday afternoon...

Tyson had a "real" game on Saturday. Usually they just split up and play against eachother, but on Saturday Tonopah's 5th and 6th graders came here and played them. Tyson was QB and did really well. He had a couple of awesome passes that were right through the receivers hands! Oh well. He also played defensive end and had a few sacks and nice hits. They ended up tying but we will go there to play them again on the 18th so we'll see how that ends up...Here's a video of a nice QB keeper...

Not sure why the videos look like they are from back in the day...The weather was overcast so maybe that's why...Anyways, that was our weekend. Don't forget to comment for a chance to win the giveaway...Hey stalkers...this means you!

So I was starting to feel left out...

First it started when my sister Jess had Colin in January, then my friend Kate had a sweet baby boy Jesse in March, then my SIL Tonia had cute little Kaia in June....Then my friend Milly had a cute baby girl, Alivia in August...They all had these sweet babies...Now, my SIL Leslie is due in March and my other SIL Ang is due in April...Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......since I can't have any more human babies, I decided to get one of these....Not the best pic, but it was taken with my cell phone, my regular camera battery is dead! Her name is Macey and she is so cute and tiny. She is half sister to Teddy, the dog that we have had for about 6 years now....Teddy wasn't sure what to think of her at first, but they became buddies really quick...
She has done good so far, she has peed every time I've taken her out, but I don't think I have given her enough time to poop. I don't dare just leave her in the yard yet, she is little enough to squeeze through where the gate meets the fence! Jeremy was trying to be all funny and tell me how he can't wait to see how many times she wakes me up in the night to go out...This coming from the guy who still wakes up and lets Teddy out every night! When he was gone to AZ, I told Teddy before we went to bed that I wasn't waking him up to let him out and lo and behold, he slept in til 7! I think he just knows that he totally owns Jeremy lol. Needless to say, guess who did get up and let Teddy out and guess who didn't get up and let Macey out....Yeah, pretty much how I figured it would be!

Sorry, no pics yet...

I haven't had a chance to get a pic of my hair yet. I'll try to soon, if nothing else, we will be getting family pics in a month or two so you can see it then! So, Tyson's game went good the other night. We got some good videos but they are long. I told Jeremy next time to stop and start at each play. He has another game tomorrow so I'll post a video from that. So, Vegas was good on Friday. We did some shopping first and I got some cute Halloween decorations. I got the cutest Halloween tree, I'll take a pic and post it next time because it's so cute. We went to the eye dr next...Ryan had been saying all along how he hoped he needed glasses. He went back for the exam by himself and when he came back out the dr told me that Ryan could see very well far away. He said that he might be able to benefit from a slight reading prescription (basically the smallest that they would write) and since Ryan was eager to have them, I figured we might as well go with it. We have insurance so why not? Here is a pic (not a good one mind you...and also, keep in mind that he was just showered and ready for bed, hence the sleeveless shirt!)So, he likes them and looks so cute in them. He picked them out himself and did a good job. They are the same ones that I would have picked for him. Anyways, Tyson and I had exams too and neither of us needed glassses...We did a little more shopping and then headed to the boys orthodontist appts. Afterwards, we went to Jess's house to visit for awhile. Her birthday was the day before and Eric had bought her a cake from the Olive Garden. They have the best lemon cream cake there and she loves it so her ordered her one. She shared some with Ryan and I...Afterwards, we headed to good old Costco and then home. Oh, I also got some new perfume at Macy's...It's called Burberry Summer...I love it. I got Jeremy some new cologne too since he was almost out, Kenneth Cole Reaction...It smells so good. So, Sunday morning rolls around and Ryan told me that his church shoes were too tight. Well, that's probably because they are a size 4...His school shoes are a size 5...Tyson's were too tight as well so I ordered them each a new pair from Kohls...Not much else going on...My visiting teacher was just here. She is so nice. The first calling that I ever had after being baptized was the Acheivement Days leader for the 8 & 9 year olds...She was the leader for the 10 & 11 year olds at the time and so we would combine activities alot. Then after that, we were in the Primary Presidency for a few years together too. She's so nice, quiet, but nice. I need to be better about trying to get out to go visiting teaching...I've been horrible!

Happy Birthday....

to pretty much everyone that I know of....lol, not really, but we do have a few birthdays in the family today. My SIL Tonia turns 28 today and my little sisters Jamie and Jess are turning 23. It's also Jeremy's mom and dad's anniversary today too. So, happy birthday and anniversary to all. Tyson has another football game tonight and I actually have the camera battery ready and charged so hopefully I can get some good pictures and video. I cut my hair the other day, I don't have a pic of me yet, you know self portraits always turn out bad...lol, but this is pretty close to what it looks like...

It's a little shorter in the back and goes longer in the front, not too drastically, but it's so cute. I really like it. I'll try to have someone else take a picture of me so I can post it. Also, I belong to this message board that I've been on for probably 3 or 4 years now...We always do a "good mail" swap...We usually do at least 4 a year, themed along with the seasons...So, I got my fall swap package from fellow blogger Amy yesterday....I love it all! Here's a pic of all my goodies...

There was a DVD, Fools Rush In (that also has some candy and popcorn attatched), who doesn't love that movie:) halloween dish towels and a cute decoration, sugar cookie mix with sprinkles and cute halloween cookie cutters, a cute pumpkin plate, a Halloween food and fun book with tons of cute halloween recipes, 2 candle holders with some pumpkin spice melts (I have to admit, I don't have any tea lights right now, so I used one of them in my scentsy burner...I just couldn't resist:) 2 cute little marshmallow monsters that the boys loved, a brown beaded necklace that will go perfectly with a dress that I have and the cutest homemade fall card! I loved it all! Thanks again...If you have time, check out her blog, she has the cutest little girl ever and a sweet boy on the way! Oh, from my last post, Laura...We have been in school over a month here too, not sure why back to school night was so delayed...Leslie, I swear that you were with me at Tai Pan when I bought the ashman melts, maybe you were just excited about your purchases and not paying attention to mine! Ryan got his school pictures back...They turned out cute despite his jack o lantern smile...Tyson is getting retakes today...He hadn't had his hair cut when he had them before and he had a weird smile in them...Well, hope everyone has a nice weekend. Hopefully next time I post I'll have some pics of Tyson's game and hopefully one of my new hair!

Fall...

I love fall, I wish we had more of a real fall here, but I'll take what I can get. I'm so tempted to get out my fall decorations and get them up. I'm going shopping Friday so I'm going to look for some more to buy. I'm also starting to crave the fall scents...I'm ordering some online right now. I originally ordered scentsy about a year or so ago, but then I discovered Ashman candles...They have the 'Beanie Melts' which are the same thing as the scentsy squares but they have way more in a pack. Scentsy comes 6 cubes to a pack for $5 and the Ashman ones are 20 cubes in a pack for $7.95...They sell them at Tai Pan Trading, but since I don't plan on going to St. George for awhile, I'll just order them. We just lounged over the weekend. Yesterday we had our dinner at Trisha's house. We had tacos and they were so good. We played Rockband a bit, well, Jeremy and the kids did. Tonight is back to school night for the boys...I hate back to school night, I know that's not the right attitude to have, but I really do. At least I know I'm not alone, most everyone that I know dreads it. I only work til noon today and then I have a haircut appt. The boys and I all have eye appts on Friday and then they also have orthodontist appts too. Hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Anniversary to me...

10 years we have been married. It's kind of weird because we dated for years before that and it still doesn't seem like we are even old enough to be married that long! In fact, the other day when I was at the dr, the nurse asked how old I was and I told her 27.....A few minutes later I was like "Wait, I actually think I'm 28..." I can't even keep track these days! I've already gotten a few "Happy Anniversary" texts from friends this morning. Almost like it's my birthday or something! Sweet. Next thing you know I'll be blogging about my 60th anniversary...I'll totally still blog then too because I'm sure I won't have anything else to do lol. So we went to Tyson's game last night. It was good and he did well. He played QB for awhile and had a couple nice handoffs and also some nice passes. Afterwards he went to a friend's house for movie night but ended up coming home early. He had a headache...Part of it was from a helmet to helmet hit he took during the game and part of it was the fact that his friend has a theater room and Tyson said the movie was up way loud. He is so my kid. I can't stand stuff loud either. So, he and Ryan both still have bad coughs today. I'm going to keep them up on the cough syrup today and through the weekend, hopefully it can get rid of it. K, so some of you asked for the recipes for the fried rice and the chicken salad...The salad is pretty cut and dried but the fried rice is a little different just because I change the amounts up depending on how many people will be eating....Like for the other night when we had Trisha and her fam over, I used 8 cups of dry rice! Crazy I know.
Oriental Chicken Salad
1 head of cabbage
1 bunch of green onions
cooked diced chicken breasts (however much you want)
3/4 cup oil
6 tbsp rice vinegar
4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
8 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1 pack of ramen noodles
slivered almonds I just usually use a small bag, I never measure them.
pine nuts (these are just something I add because Jeremy likes them)

Cut/shred your cabbage and dice up your green onions and mix them with your cooked cubed chicken in a big bowl. Crunch up the dry ramen noodles and add to your cabbage mixture. In another smaller bowl, mix oil, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and the seasoning packet from your ramen noodles. Add your sesame seeds and whatever other nuts you are using to your cabbage mixture. Pour your dressing over the top and mix well. It's usually better if you let it sit in the fridge overnight.

So for this next recipe, I'm not going to post amounts, because I don't really know them. I just do whatever and it usually turns out good.

Chicken or Pork Fried Rice
Marinate your chicken or pork in teriyaki sauce (I usually like to leave it in overnight)
Cook your rice according to package directions
Scramble some eggs in a seperate pan.
Dice up some green onion and shred some carrots.
Cook your chicken in some olive oil and when it's done add your carrots and onion. Add your cooked rice and mix it well. Add your scrambled eggs (make sure and chop it up pretty small) to the rice. Melt some butter and pour it over the rice. Stir well. Add some soy sauce and that's it. I know, I really should write recipes for a living right? lol. But, you get the basic idea anyways.

Home sick today...

So, last week, Tyson was home sick with a bad headache, cough, stuffiness..I thought it was allergies but the next day Ryan ended up with it. Over the weekend he was really sick with it, he had fever and he was wheezing and having trouble breathing. He has gotten better, but still has his nasty cough. So, Monday my throat started to feel a little scratchy and by last night it was hurting so bad! I actually took a Loritab to see if that would help. It did, but it still hurt to swallow, it felt like I had two huge lumps on either side of my throat. I swear I was up most of the night! I was so stuffy and Jeremy was too and between the two of us, I hardly got any sleep. Plus, he had to go to work early so he was awake at 4, which meant I was too! So, needless to say, I'm home sick today. There is no way that I could make it through the day. I'm so stuffy and have so much sinus pressure, not to mention I feel like a zombie after no sleep. This morning Ryan and I went to the dr. Hopefully we should be feeling better soon, my Grandma is going to bring us our medicine from the pharmacy this afternoon. Ryan has bronchitis with some "bubbly sounds" in his lungs, hopefully the medicine will clear it up, I don't want it to turn into pneumonia. So, yesterday was my day to work only a half a day. Trisha and Maddy came over and we ordered cheeseburgers and fries (Maddy had a pizza stick) but the cheeseburgers were so gross! Luckily, it was our night for them to come for dinner and I was making Pork Fried Rice...It was so good. We all love it. I think Alexa was the only one who didn't like it. There always has to be one that doesn't like what we are having. Last week when we had Enchiladas at Trisha's house it was Ryan who wouldn't eat. I also made this Oriental Chicken Salad that Jeremy loves. He really would eat it everyday. This weekend will be the first weekend that we will all be home all weekend in like a month! It's our 10 year anniversary on Friday and Jeremy wanted to go somewhere, but I can't bring myself to travel anymore than we already have! I have to take the boys to the orthodontist the following week so I really just want to stay home. Well, I really need to take a nap, I feel like I'm about to fall asleep sitting here! Oh, have to add, anyone else watch Bonnie Hunt's new talk show? I record it during the day and watch it. She's so cute and funny, I don't know what it is about her, but I just love her.

Blogs I've been glued to....

lately. I have been reading these religiously everyday. It really makes me grateful for a healthy happy family. It's so sad to think that tragedies like this happen all over the world everyday. First, A Daily Scoop is about a family who lost their 1 year old in a backyard drowning accident this summer. Stephanie's writing is amazing (not to mention her faith) and I can't imagine having the strength she does at a time like this...Second, cjane tells the story of her sister Stephanie Nielsen (Nie Nie) who, along with her husband was involved in a private plane crash. The flight instructor didn't make it and Nie Nie and her husband are both in the hospital in critical condition. He is better off than she is (injury wise) but they are both very serious. I think she was burned over something like 80% of her body. They have 4 young children who are now being cared for by family while they have surgery after surgery to try and recover....And last is Scott and Carol Decker...My friend Lara pointed me in the direction of this blog this past week and I've been following it ever since....Basic synopsis is Carol went in to have a baby, ended up getting some type of infection. Whatever medicine they gave her for the infection blocked blood flow to several parts of her body. She has had to have both legs amputated below the knee, one arm amputated below the elbow, one finger amputated and she has also lost her sight. They don't have much hope for it to return from what I understand. Reading things like these makes my heart break for these families but it makes me so grateful for the family that I have and the fact that we are all healthy and happy.

Home from work...

and bored out of my mind! So Tyson is suffering with allergies really bad so he came home from school this morning. So, I'm here and bored as ever! Last night we had dinner over at Trisha's again. Sad to say, but their ports for Rockband are broken so we weren't able to have the entertainment we did the last time courtesy of Jeremy. But, we still had good food. She was making enchiladas and Jeremy told her he wanted the kind with green sauce and with cream cheese instead of sour cream. They were so good. I brought brownies for dessert and they were delish too. I actually finished the last one for breakfast this morning! Next week, they'll come to our house and I'm planning on Chicken Fried Rice, I can't wait! So, after I posted my pic of my purse, Julie mentioned that I needed shoes to match...I already have these gems....
Jeremy calls them my ruby red slippers and they are oh so cute. Cute enough that I have them in brown and in black as well. Gotta love payless...So my sister emailed me these pics that she had done of the kids the other day. It is crazy how much Colin looks like Tyson when he was a baby...
I guess the day that they got them done Jaidyn threw a huge fit and ran away from Eric in the store and everything. So Jess went and picked up the pics the other day and Jaidyn was looking at them and said "Mommy, me really naughty at JC Penney?" Obviously she hadn't forgotten how she had acted!

I have to be the mean mom...

More on the mean mom stuff later...So, what have we been up to since I last updated...We had the Taylor's over for our weekly dinner. We had Pasta and it was super delish. I finally gave Trisha her birthday gift (late, I know, I'm a loser, but it was a MAC gift card so I'm sure that made up for it:) I got my hair done on Friday night and Jeremy and the kids went to the high school football game. We woke up bright and early to go to Utah for a blessing for this sweet girl...
They just had her blessed there at the house so it was easy, no dressing up! We drove up and back in the same day which wasn't too bad. It was better than sleeping away from home again. We had all of Jeremy's family together.

We are quite the group if I must say. We have Jeremy's dad making a weird face (which he always ends up doing in pictures) kids looking here and there and everywhere, Jason face only halfway showing....It was Stake Conference this weekend so we didn't go to church. We had traveled all day Saturday and couldn't make ourselves travel to Panaca the following morning! Oh, here is a pic of my new red purse, it's not the best, but at least you can get an idea...

So, onto the mean mom story...In past years, Pee Wee football has been 1st grade and up. Ryan played last year and it was his first year playing. Well, to make a long story short, this year they are only doing 3rd grade and up. The coach is letting his son (who is Ryan's age) play and he said that Ryan could play too. I told Ryan that if they weren't letting all of the 2nd graders play, that he couldn't either. It's not fair to bend the rules for some and not for others. He is having a hard time understanding because there are 2 boys his age playing and I won't let him. It sucks, but I'm sure he'll get over it. So Jeremy's dad is in the hospital again. He keeps having bad trouble with gout even though he is taking the medicine and not eating what he shouldn't. They called a specialist in so hopefully that will be tomorrow so he won't have to stay over there too long.

Labor Day Weekend...

We made it home! Thank goodness! I hate being away from home and especially sleeping away from home. Last night was the best night sleep I'd had in days! We headed out at about 8:30 on Friday morning. We stopped in Kingman and ate here...

Yum. Love it...We made it to Phoenix and got to our hotel...The Embassy Suites Phoenix Biltmore...
It was so nice to have a suite, kids in one room with their TV choice, us in another with our tv choice...Right next door to the hotel was a mall...I headed down to macys and bought a new purse. It's a patent leather red Nine West bag and is oh so cute. They were having a labor day sale so I was able to get it for like $60. Woo Hoo. So, the next morning we woke up and headed out to shop. Jeremy was none too pleased when I told him I wanted to make a quick stop at Costco. But really, I was only in there like 45 minutes and it saved me having to make a special trip from home to go. After that we headed over to Tempe Marketplace. We got some coldstone ice cream and then did a little shopping. The kids begged for a new jersey and of course we gave in. We went back to the hotel and Jeremy and the boys swam for a bit. Random fact, but the pool at our hotel was filled with salt water. Weird. After we rested for awhile we headed to the Outback. My fav! We got full and then headed for Tempe Marketplace again. They were having a great sale at Tilly's and I decided I wanted to go back and get more. They had clearance plus another 50% percent off. I was able to get like 10 shirts for the boys and a shirt and 2 pair of board shorts for Jeremy for like $120. We headed back to the sports store because Jeremy had told the kids that he would buy them a new hat because they had left theirs at home. Afterwards we headed over to the stadium.

Of course we got there way early. Have to beat the rush you know! I think the clock said something like 77 minutes til game time when we walked into the stadium! Ugh. I told the kids to pose for some pics and this is what they gave me...

So, the game was good. Ryan got a bit bored but it was to be expected. He wasn't feeling well earlier in the day and seriously, we were there almost an hour and a half before the game even started! We got back to our room at around 11:00...Way past my bed time! The next morning we woke up and got packed up. We hit Burger King for some breakfast and then hit the road. We were heading to Flagstaff and decided to take the scenic route through Sedona...Ryan had taken a car sick pill and it totally knocked him out. He woke up for a minute and asked for his pink lemonade...Next thing I know, its upside down in his lap. He had fallen back asleep with it in his hand and it had spilled all over his seat...I got it all cleaned up. He was saying how he was cold. I'm sure alot of it had to do with his lemonade soaked butt...A few minutes later I looked back and saw him like this...

He had tucked his head and arms in his shirt and his legs in his pillowcase to keep warm and he had fallen asleep...Anyways, we didn't stop in Sedona but I took a few pics out the window...It was so nice and cool there.

We stopped in Flagstaff and got gas and a drink and then headed to the Grand Canyon. It had been raining and was pretty foggy so you couldn't even see the other side.

Luckily it cleared up before we left and Jeremy was able to get some good pics.

After we left we got back to Flagstaff to get some dinner. We wanted Olive Garden but it was too long of a wait. We hadn't eaten lunch and were starving so we settled for Red Lobster instead. I swear, I think we spent more money on food then we did on gas this trip! Tyson no longer orders off of the kids menu and he seems to have a taste for steak and shrimp. Oh well, what can you do? We got checked into our room (Which according to Tyson was "ghetto") It was a Ramada and wasn't nearly as nice as our hotel in Phoenix but when you use priceline.com, you gotta go with what they offer. Ryan and I headed to Target to do a little shopping. Monday morning we woke up early and were on the road a little after 7. After stopping a few times we made it home around 1:00...We had a good trip and are glad that we were able to make it there and back safe. Oh, Jeremy took a bunch of pics at the Dam but I won't bore you with those. He loves that kind of stuff!

Dinner with the Taylors...

So, a long time ago, we decided that we would do weekly dinners with Trisha and her fam, rotating one week at their house, one week at our house...So, since we are trying to get back into the habit we started last night. We had some good BBQ meatloaf and 4 cheese potatoes and corn. Oh, and she made couscous which she loves. Jeremy told her it tastes like baby formula. We also had some awesome entertainment. Jason had bought Trisha Rockband for the Wii for her birthday a few weeks ago. Jeremy was quite the headliner...He sang The Who, Rage Against The Machine, some Oasis...Jason told him he has a standing invitation to come over every night if he promises to sing. The kids had fun with it too. Ryan's specialty was The Killers and Tyson did some Fall Out Boy song that we had never heard. All of the kids did All American Rejects Dirty Little Secret and did well. I looked for it a few weeks ago but they were sold out of it for PS2. I planned on getting it for Christmas but I don't know if Jeremy will let us wait til then. Trisha is pretty good on the drums too, just watching her makes me have an internal freakout. It's so fast it gives me some type of sensory overload! I couldn't handle it. Trisha and I are taking dinner into our friend Milly tonight. She had her baby on Monday. She sent me a text message to let me know that she had her that night but they still hadn't named her. I guess we'll find out when we drop dinner off. Our last softball game is tonight. I don't think I'll play. We are leaving for Arizona tomorrow morning and since I'll have to finish up laundry and pack for all 4 of us I'll most likely just stay home and get that finished up. Well, I better finish getting ready for work. I'll post lots of pictures when we get back Monday!

Sunday

I can't think of a title today. It's been almost a week since I've posted. I guess it's been busy just trying to get back into a routine. Trying to get the kids into an after school routine is hard too. Not knowing for sure what their football schedule will be is really frustrating to try to get anything established. I've been trying to get them in the habit of the order things need to be done after they get home. They would prefer to go out and play or play their video games but I'm getting them used to getting homework done and piano practiced before any of that. Jess and the kids came up over the weekend. The kids were glad to see her kids. So, I got the kids Halloween costumes ordered on Friday. Ryan is going to be Indiana Jones and Tyson is going to be Michael Myers (scary movie Michael Myers not Austin Powers Mike Myers lol) They are excited about it. Jeremy's brother Mike and his family came down for the weekend. It was good to see them and the kids were excited to see their cousins. We'll head up there in a few weeks for their baby's blessing. We are heading out on our big family vacation on Friday. I'm excited but dreading it at the same time...I hate driving long distances and the kids appreciate it about as much as I do. Plus, we are such homebodies. We all hate to be away from home for too long (basically too long means overnight!) and we usually end up coming home early. I know, it's kind of ridiculous but it's so true. We're going to get ourselves set up with the ipods, gameboys, x box, just about anything that I can think of to ward off the boredom in the car. Well, I still have dishes sitting in the sink from dinner last night so I better get on it!

My very own Shrek...

This just confirms it...My kids are ogres. Cute, loveable ogres, but ogres just the same:) School started yesterday and I didn't get a pic as the boys headed out the door. Trisha texted me awhile later and said that she had gotten a pic of Ryan and Logan before they started 2nd grade...
Rest assured, Ryan is in fact 7 years old. He totally looks like he could be the middle school attending brother of little Logan who has come to accompany him to his first day...It seriously cracks me up. I don't have proof of Tyson, but he is tall too. (In all fairness though, Logan is pretty small for his age) Anyways, the kids had a great first day. They rode the bus to piano practice after school and did well there. When they got home Tyson helped me grate some cheese for dinner. I let them choose and they decided on Taco Bake. They both took leftovers of it for lunch today. Tyson loves to take a lunch because his teacher (who also happens to be Grandma :) lets him and his friends eat their lunch in her classroom and watch ESPN. I'm glad to be back into a routine. I have my dinner menu planned out for the whole week. I'm so proud!
