With Deepest Sympathy...

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. I know I got a lot of stamping done, however it was with great sorrow in my heart. A family from the church I grew up in unexpectantly lost their son who was a freshman in high school on Saturday. It has definately left a mark on my heart. I made this card for my mom to give to his parents. They have been through so much in the past few years, I truly pray this card brings them comfort!

I used Taylored Expressions sketch #151... seriously love how it turned out. The papers, ribbon, and brads are all from November's Key Ingredients Kit. The swirl on front is CTMH and Prima flowers inside. The beautiful scripture is a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs, and the inside stamp is from Taylored Expressions.

This card is also my submission for Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #124: Show your true style. I know my style is more simple, but it is full of love! I truly feel my true style and my best cards are the ones where I am honestly trying to bring some joy or peace to the recipient. I honestly think about the recipient with every step in the process, and I think that is what makes my favorite cards my favs, the part of myself that is with it!

I made 3 other cards this weekend, and will be back throughout the week as I can get them edited to share them all with you! Thanks for looking as always, and please give your kiddos an extra kiss and hug in Cameron's honor tonight!

Lil Bro's birthday!

Hello everyone! I hope your week is going better than mine, lol! My family is all sick, except my husband, and he's out of town for work all week! So not much fun going on in the Meyer household, and not a lot of card making! I did have to get out of bed to make my "little" brother a birthday card, he turned 21 today! Sooo hard to believe. He has grown into such a wonderful man though, and I'm so proud of him!

Ok enough mush out of me! I know this is more of a summer image from Hambo digi stamps, but I just loved it with this Gina K sentiment. My brother is a farm boy at heart so it fits! And who knows, maybe it'll bring warmer weather... a girl can hope : )

I used January's SFYTT, loved it! This is also my submission for Crazy 4 Challenges #120, because he'll always be my "little" brother! The paper is October Afternoon and the brads and photo edge is CTMH.

Thanks for looking, and have a great rest of the week!

Young at Heart

Hello! It's the 15th of the month, which means there's a new challenge over at ABC Challenge! We're on to H is for Happy Birthday! Should be easy enough to play along, right?

My card is for one of my uncles. He is quite the joker and I thought he would find the sentiment very funny! I know I love it! I know it's a bit small in the pic, but it says "Young at Heart slightly older in other places"

I colored the sweet owl with Copics. Unfortunately I made this card prior to my Sugar Nellie hop cards and now I cannot for the life of me find that sweet owl again...I can see the rubber stamp in my head though! So I have no idea what company it is... I need to write those details down! I'll keep looking and hopefully be able to update my post soon. The paper and swirl is CTMH.

This card is also my submission for Cute Card Thursday: have a laugh and Dutch Dare challenges: for the boys.

Thanks for looking! I hope you have a chance to play along with us, don't forget there are prizes involved!

The cutie I've used on my card is Hugs for Fifi. Isn't she just the sweetest! I've colored her with Copics. I had a pair of turquoise boots when I was growing up, they were my inspiration for her outfit! The DP is from Bella Blvd. I used Sweet Sunday #149 for the sketch. Just some ribbon and sparkles and I'm done!

Little Lady Bug

Hello everyone! It's my turn today to share some sugar over at the Sugar Nellie blog. I decided to share a card I made for my 7 year old son to give his "girlfriend." They met at daycare 3 years ago, and even though now they go to different elementary schools, their love is still strong, lol! In fact tonight at supper Caleb told us that when Morgan has a baby someday Patrick and I will be grandpa and grandma..... Patrick and I just looked at each other and tried not to laugh!

So back to the card! I used the super cute Let Them Eat Cake image. I colored her in with Copic markers. I was initially going to color her dress to be like a lady bug, but then decided to make it colorful instead. I'm still on the fence about my decision, a ladybug dress would have been cute too. I added a bunch of sparkle with my Spica glitter pens, it just isn't showing up in my pics! The paper is from Echo Park and I added some rhinestones to make the ladybug's paths. The sentiment is Amuse. Some misc ribbons, brads, and flowers finish it off! All the spots and dots make this card my submission for this week's Sweet Stampin' challenge.

I also get to make an exciting announcement over at the Sugar Nellie blog, sneak peaks for the super cute release start there tomorrow! Thanks for looking!

Hero

Hello! Is anyone else's weekend flying by? My son had his first basketball game today, that was interesting! Entertaining definately, but interesting : )

A co-worker's son is serving in Afghanastan and our office is sending him a care package. This is the card I made for everyone who donates to sign and send along. I truly hope this little hello from home brightens his day.

I used Mojo Monday #222 for the sketch. The star is a Sissix die and I wrapped some paper twine around it. I used my Cricut to cut the HERO letters, and then I embossed them with a Cuttlebug folder and used a bit of distressing ink. I really love the look of it! The paper and red rhinestones are CTMH.

This card is also my submission for The Pink Elephant #129: Anything goes.

Thanks for looking! And to anyone reading who has ever served or has family who is now, thank you for your bravery! You are true Hero's!

Thinking of You

Hello! This week has been very trying, and I've been making cards to unwind at night. The good side to that is I have a que of cards waiting to be shared! The first is one I made for a friend who lost her pregnancy with twins last week. I pray that this card brings her comfort!

I started with Card Patterns #146, although the final result doesn't reflect it so much! The patterned paper is from Jillybean Soup. I received it, the ribbon, and the journaling card in November's KI kit. The stamp sets are from Taylored Expressions too (they are my something new for Cute Card Thursday's #198... I had a bit of fun with Taylor's Black Friday sale!) I picked up the flower at Micheals, it's from Recollections.

As always, thanks for looking! I'll be seeing you soon! Plus sneak peaks for Sugar Nellie will be coming soon! I'm so excited, it is going to be great!

Herd It's Your Birthday!

Happy 2012! I went to Minneapolis today to watch the Vikings and the Bears with my parents, hubby, and brother.... oh my both teams played terrible, but the Bears won, so oh well : ) I left and forgot to schedule my sample for today's ABC Challenge: G for Green.... oops, so much for starting off the year right! Better late than never.... right..... So without any further delay, I herd it's your birthday!

You can choose, either go green and reuse items, or be inspired by the color green. As you can tell, I chose color. Coming from a farm family green=farm, right? The stamps I used are from Gina K Designs. I sooo love the sentiment I used on the inside of the card... it cracks me up! I used some papers from an older Key Ingredients kit.

Thanks for looking, I hope you have time to play along with us!
