For my sample card today I used Doodle Pantry's Quirky Skunk digital stamp set, I think she's really cute!  I made my card in a rather unusual way for me this time and thought I'd go through some of the process with you, just for fun.

I first printed my two sheets of digital papers that come in this set, then went to my dies for a shaped card.  I cut out the Stampin' Up! Taken With Teal panel using the largest Cheery Lynn Designs French Flair scalloped die then cut out the striped Doodle Pantry digital paper with the French Flair regular die so I could layer them.  I wanted a strip of my Doodle Pantry polka dotted digital paper on there too so I cut a strip to fit.  I have a photo of how I did that below.

I taped my strip of paper face down on the cutting blades of my regular French Flair die to keep it in place.

There's the other side up for you before I ran it through the Grand Calibur.

I next decided how big of a circle my card would accommodate and used two of my Spellbinders circles to cut it out.  Then I could work on figuring out how large or small I wanted to print my Quirky Skunk.  In keeping with the scalloped theme I picked out my Spellbinders Eyelet Squares to see if one might fit inside my circle and it did and also a regular Spellbinders Square, it started coming together for me.

This photo is of my card in the process of being worked on, nothing is fastened down just laid out but coming to life.

I thought brads in the corner holes of the Eyelet Square die would be fun and I was pretty sure I could match the colors.  I then added black organdy ribbon and tied a bow using a couple of my Copic markers for a "bow easy" and for a finishing touch I used part of a Fanciful Flourish die made by Cheery Lynn Designs.

Be sure to make your next stop Doodle Pantry so you can see all the fun new digital stamp sets Laurie has for you and all the wonderful sample cards our design team has made!

Doodle Pantry Nutty For You

We have a new Midweek Throwdown challenge starting today at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, the challenge is to make cards for kids - how fun!

For my card I used Doodle Pantry's Nutty For You digital stamp set the pre-colored version along with the digital papers that come in this fun set.  I've been playing with Spellbinders circles making frames so I framed the sentiment and cut out the two squirrels and added them to my card.  The other cardstock colors I've used are Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip & Barely Banana.

It was a quick, easy and fun card to make - I love that about Doodle Pantry's pre-colored digital stamps.  Would you believe I couldn't sleep so I got up at 12:30 AM and made my card, I was back in bed by 1:30 AM and fast asleep :)

I hope you'll join in our cards for kids challenge at Operation Write Home this week and maybe even stop by Doodle Pantry for some cute images to use!

Conrad Construction by Dude Time Doodles

We have a new challenge starting today at Stamps R Us sponsored by Dude Time Doodles, our theme is masculine.

For my sample card I used Conrad Construction and colored him with Copic markers B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, E30, E31, E44, E50, E51, C00, C1, C2, T1, T2, YG0000, YG01, YG03, YG05, R21, Y15, Y13, Y11.  My layout is Splitcoast Stampers SC#312, cardstock colors Neenah Solar White & Desert Sand, Papertrey Ink Enchanted Evening, Stampin' Up! Green Galore & Brushed Silver.  I printed the sentiment from this digital stamp set on the Green Galore layer after I cropped it so I could use part of the sentiment on the outside and part on the inside of my card.  I used the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder on the silver panel, added a couple of silver brads and my card was complete.

I have some pictures to share today speaking of "liking to play in the dirt".  I didn't get any pictures of the guys working yet though!  Maybe later today -

New planting beds in front of the block wall, down both sides of the sidewalk and beside the driveway are going in.

I cannot believe all the unexpected company we've had since the front is all torn up.  It's usually very quiet at our house.

It's going to be nice when it's finished!  We just need to figure out what kind of plants will withstand our 115 degree plus temperatures that are coming soon.

I had to include a silly picture of Maxine on the other side of the fence since I'm showing some personal pictures today!  She came down with Parvo April 1st, a month later you'd never know she's been sick.  Thanks for all your prayers and support during that time.

One Stitch At A Time - Emboss It
Sparkles Forum Challenges - Anything Goes

Computer Ants by Doodle Pantry

I have a fun card to share with you today!
I made this for our Stamps R Us Bugs & Embossing challenge that kicks off today and runs for the next two weeks.  Our wonderful sponsor is Doodle Pantry and our team had the fun of working with some of Laurie's cute images.

I used the Doodle Pantry set Computer Bugs and colored with Copic markers BG0000, BG10, BG11, T5, T3, T2.  My layout is a "test" sketch by Julie at Operation Write Home.  I love sketches so I hope it was okay that I used it.  I added a touch of embossing and my card was ready to go.

The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Basic Black, Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow & Aqua Mist and of course Neenah Solar White.

I made a second card for the Doodle Pantry blog using the cute Computer Ants.

I wondered what red ants would look like...
Again I colored with Copic markers E59, R59, R37, T3, T2, T1.
My layout was mostly trying to figure out how to fit the large image on my card and show it off.  I had to sleep on it.

I added the clickity, Click sentiment.  To cover the seam I used the strip of Basic Grey & Cranberry and thought a line of metal dots would help bring it all together.  I matted the image on Stampin' Up! Basic Grey and the Cranberry cardstock is made by Thepapermill.com, it went through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you'll join us for our Bugs & Embossing challenge at the Stamps R Us challenge blog and go visit Laurie at the Doodle Pantry too, she has so many cute "bug" images!
