Let's get Shabby - Alice Garden Goddess

Meet Alice the Garden Goddess....
(click on pic for a bigger view)

Oh, I so enjoy joining in with the Shabby challenges
...and the latest

is to...
*Create a Shabby garden on your project
*Include a quote from anywhere in the book 'Alice in Wonderland'
*and as gardens are usually full of a mix of flowers you will need to include a variety of at least five flowers on your creation.
-oOo-
and here's what I had so much fun creating...

..anyone following my blog recently will know,
that I've got a little addicted to making paper dolls
So, when I see this 'Shabby' challenge it inspired me to make..

Alice the Garden Goddess
-oOo-
Alice is made from a card base
(using the fabby Goddess Template
from The Enchanted Gallery Website)
First, I painted the body with flesh coloured acyrlic paint
then I made Alice's pinnafore and dress from paper
and added some buttons and lace
Her clay face is painted with acrylic paints
added some wool for her hair
then I created a shabby garden from a mixture of shabby flowers and mushrooms.
-oOo-
* The Quote I chose from the 'Alice in Wonderland' Book
was 'What a curious feeling'
I used some alpha beads to spell out the quote, and made them into the hanger for my paper doll.
This quote is from Chapter 1, when Alice drinks from the bottle labelled 'Drink Me'

I filled a little craft bottle with some small blue beads, to make the magic potion
added a label marked 'Drink Me' !!
Can you also spot the key Alice uses to open the door!!

..and here is my Shabby Garden of flowers
with a variety of more than 5 different blooms

You need hands....

The latest Gothic Arch Challenge over at Inkurable Stampers is Hands.
The first thing that popped into my head, when I see that the theme chosen by Sarah was 'Hands' was..... Clocks!!
You have to use at least one stamp on your Arch...and being as I have no stamps with 'hands' this turned out to be a good idea!! I used a Crafty Individuals Clocks stamp (C1-255) for the background distressed it with some inks. Chose an image also by CI with some 'hands' in view!! So I covered all bases by having two sets of Hands LOL!!...added some german scrap, a saying and a pointer onto one of the clocks.
If you enjoy making Arch atc's why don't you pop over too Inkurable Stampers dedicated Flickr Group (Arch Challenge), we are only on our 4th Challenge, so plenty time to catchup and join in with the Fun!!

Catching up again with Inchies, matchboxes and paper dolls

Hello ......
I'm still here!
Life has been a little hectic just lately! ...
but I've still been creating....
Got a few things to show.....

First of all the Alpha inchies !! Over at inchy by inch we are up to the letter 'H', and being as I'm playing catch up again!! Here are my 'G' and 'H' inchies, I'll try my hardest to get 'I' done on time next week!!

..as promised, here is the little altered matchbox, that I made for Bee for our swap, I've made a few more different ones, so if anyone fancies a trade, drop me a email!

You can see the lovely 'rose' matchbox that I received from Bee in a previous post.

..Now, for something really exciting, I got to know Sherry through the One World One Heart Blog Hop, and I was fascinated with her paper dolls, so I was so thrilled when she said she would trade a paper doll with me..
-o0o-
So..... meet 'Fritzi' the Festive Fairy...
...Isn't she just fabulous!!
this is the paper doll that Sherry sent too me,
...a little birdie told her that I liked Glitter.
and Wow, she is definitely full of Sparkle!
Fritzi now has pride of place in my craft room!

Check out Sherry's Blog to see more stunning paper dolls!
-o0o-
Well, now to my very first paper doll that I made for Sherry, for our swap....
I was a little nervous swapping with Sherry, because she has created lots of beautiful paper dolls
but I was quite pleased with my first attempt...

..I'm really into shabby-chic at the mo as you can see.

...meet her Shabby Sister! - doll #2

got a little carried away, and had to make another paper doll for myself!
