Yes, I went a bit mad with these cards...lol

Honestly, sometimes I sit back after making a card and wonder what the bloody hell I was thinking.

The idea in my head was brilliant...but somewhere between my brain and the final result I clearly inhaled something 'groovy-man' .

I started by stamping the cat stamps (a freebie from an old magazine) onto my card base, then created masks with Post-it notes to cover them.

Then I went a little (Cough!) crazy with my Altenew inks in a mad, frenzy of bright colours.

The flower & foliage images are from lots of different mini Majestix stamp sets from Card-io Crafts.

I made a few of these cards, simply stamping the little images and then removing the masks.  

On the one above I drew collars and added a little jewel name tag.

On the one below, I just added some random gems.

No need to adjust your eyeballs...these cards are as mad as they look.

Majestix Clear Peg Stamps

Thought I'd inject some floral cheer in to your lives today.

It's flamin' freezing where I am and apparently the temperature is set to plummet even further over the coming days.....Brrrrrrr. 

C'mon spring!!!!

For this card I used a selection of Majestix Clear Peg stamps. 

I love these stamps....all sorts of teeny, tiny images that are brilliant for creating backgrounds, wreaths, etc.... 

I stamped with a selection of Versacolor inks, nothing fancy-schmancy in my technique, just clean, honest stamping....lol.

Now if you've never seen Majestix stamps before, they come in tiny packs with maybe 5 - 7 mini stamps per set. Instead of having loads of tiny packs, I stick all of the stamps to a piece of A5 acetate, draw with a Sharpie pen around each set (so I know which set is which) and then I cut up the packaging and stick that to a piece of A5 card. I then keep it all in an A5 plastic wallet like my other stamps.

(I hope that makes sense!)

I can squeeze about 12 sets on 1 piece of A5 acetate....much better than storing 12 individual packs of stamps.

So there you go.... Mother Nature has been on the phone and promised me that spring and some warmer weather will be here soon.

Christmas Cards Galore

A whole heap of festive cards to share with you today.

I totally stole this idea from Jennifer Mcguire, using her 'Sentiment Backdrop' technique. The sentiment on each card is from Paper Smooches' 'Christmas Sampler' set, the Polar Bears are from MFT's 'Polar Bear Pals' and Santa is from their 'Merry Everything' set.  You can see how to do this technique here. 

For this card I used 'Festive Fir Cones' Majestix stamps from Card-io and a host of Versa Colour inks cubes. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter's 'The Big, The Bold, The Merry'.

I used these stamps last year on some Christmas cards and I love it. It's 'Festive Greetings' from WPlus9.

A handful of simple, glittery foliage cards using MFT's 'Leafy Greenery' die set.

Another one using MFT's 'Merry Everything'.

MFT's 'Beast Friends' and 'Precious Polaroids' dies.

And finally, as I've probably bored you senseless, a bounty of baubles from MFT's 'Santa' Elves' with a sentiment from Winnie & Walter again.

My card today was made using a stencil from Memory Box ‘Texture Wave’ and stamping through the gaps with a variety of clear peg stamps from Cardios’ Majestix range using Versacolor ink pads….Simples!

New Homes

 

I’ve been having a BIG crafting clear-out & reminiscing over some of the crafty purchases I’ve made over the years.
There are some seriously cringe-worthy items, lots of shamefully unused bits n’ bobs and, I confess, enough papers to carpet the planet (with several layers).
I’ve also found some real treasures including this cute little house stamp set from a company called One Four Zero. I’m not sure they exist anymore but I’m so glad I rediscovered these stamps in my stash

Off to bundle everything up & to find it all a new, worthy home.

Sheesh I’ve missed you all..sniff!
It’s been a busy year chez nous. I’ve been gardening almost non-stop, our son n’ heir has started at a new school and fav’ daughter has applied to university. It seems like only yesterday they were wee babes.
Life sure is flying by...sigh.
Anyway, I’ve dusted off my crafting corner et voila!
It’s good to be back.
