Hero Arts - Tropical Leaves

Hello!
I've noticed a theme in my stamp collection.... florals n' foliage.
In fact my whole life revolves around plants.
My house and garden are full of them...I'm a plant addict.

This Tropical Leaves wooden stamp set is from Hero Arts and is a one of my favs.
I stamped a simple wallpaper-like design on my card using Brilliance pigment inks in a selection of greens & browns.
I die cut the HELLO word a few times and stuck them on top of each other for a raised sentiment.

Of course the hardest part was getting those clear sequins in just the right place...lol

Hero Arts Tropical Leaves & VersaMagic Inks

Ahoy!
I hope you're having a great week...the weekend is almost here...Yay!!
I thought I'd make another card using Hero Arts' wooden 'Tropical Leaves' stamps and VersaMagic inks.

I used the same stamps in a recent post (click here) in a clean and simple design.
For today's cards I've used them to create a kinda background paper look.

This time I've used a pastel blue/green selection of colours.... Turquoise Gem, Aquatic Splash & Sea Breeze.
I just love those names!!

So easy to do....just stamp!

Sigh....these inks come in such beautiful colours, so rich and creamy... an absolutute joy to stamp with.

To finish I added some pastel 'Spring Mix' sequins from Neat & Tangled and a sentiment using black alphabet stickers from Scenic Route.
Have a great weekend everyone xxx

Hero Arts Tropical Leaves & VersaMagic Ink

Hello there, I hope you're having a great weekend.
Over the past year I have been building my ink stash with some older, inexpensive sets from Tsukineko. Today's card features 3 summery colours from the VersaMagic collection. These inks are really thick and creamy and leave a perfect impression first time, every time, in a rich, chalky, matte finish.

I used Hero Arts' 'Tropical Leaves' to create a simple one-layered card using Mango Madness, Persimmon and Pink Grapefruit. Seriously...could these inks sound any more delicious and summery?

If you're on the look out for some inexpensive inks then I really encourage you to look out for VersaMagic and some of the other ink collections from Tsukineko, like their VersaColor, VersaFine and Brilliance collections. They may have been around for years but they are still fabulous inks to use and you can find them for some amazing prices.

This stamp set is perfect for so many occasions and as you can see, doesn't need to be used in traditional leaf colours, just let your imagination run wild.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll be back soon.

Splat!

I made this card for a young lady who is often adorned in fluorescent colours, so it was only right n' proper that Hero Art's Neon ink pads saw the light of day for her birthday card.

Here they are in all their dazzling, garish glory.

I used one of the larger splatter stamps from MFT's Distressed Patterns set. I think you can tell which one I used as it's stained with neon yellow.

I used my MISTI to stamp the colours as these inks can be quite blotchy on the first stamping, so being able to re-ink and stamp in exactly the same place was vital. If you haven't got a MISTI but have been 'umming n' arrring' about whether or not you really need one then I can say I highly recommend it. Yes it's expensive but if I added up the amount of card I've binned because I've not stamped evenly or the ink has been blotchy then it's repaid itself already. I have the original sized version as all of my cards are 6x6 inch.
Christmas is coming....put in on your list... I promise you won't regret it and it has so many other uses (please note, it doesn't do the ironing or make tea, it's brilliant but not that brilliant)

I had planned to just stamp the 3 central 'splats' but got carried away and ended up creating a whole background of razzle-dazzleness. The name was made using an alphabet die by Marianne Designs and the birthday message is from one of MFT's stamp sets. To finish I highlighted the sides of some of the splats with a black, fineliner pen.

Psst!

It's Mr C's birthday tomorrow and here's the card I've made for him.
Thought I'd do something different from the usual manly themes....ice lollies.
Everyone loves a lolly or ice-cream, so hopefully he'll like it.

Shock! Horror! The ol' Promarkers have been revived for this card. I can't remember the last time I used them but bearing in mind I've had them for over 7 years I'm delighted that they're all still working.

So what does Mr C want for his birthday?
A tea-pot!
Weirdo.

Oh Happy Day -Lia Griffith
Calligraphy Alpha - Altenew
Sentiment & Paper - MFT
