I made Prayer Flags a few years ago. Here's a little video showing my flags, I just created, to show you the flags and inspire you.

Prayer Flags
I'm thrilled to be participating in the Prayer Flag Blog Hop. As you know, I love prayer flags and have made a number of them (see them here)
Here's what I created from the Prayer Flag Value pack, which included the ready made linen banners and the ebook
| purchase a copy of the Prayer Flag e-book! |
First I got out my trusty Gelli printing plates and rubber bands, to add a bit of color and texture to the linen flags
and grabbed some fabric that I had printed before using the same technique.
I cut out circles from the printed fabric and fused them to the printed flags.
Then, I cut out the images from my fabric yardage, with my designs (that you can purchase) and fused those to the flags.
I wanted to build up a layered background on the flags.
Lastly, I stamped some meaningful words and phrases on the flags.
I plan on finishing my prayer flags with a little bit of hand stitching when I have time.
And please do visit The Prayer Flag Project blog, to upload your own prayer flags, or just be inspired and uplifted by others.

prayer flags
My prayer flags hang outside on our patio. I love how they are ageing and in some cases, rusting. If you don't know about The Prayer Flag Project, click here. Anyone can participate. (You can see all my prayer flags here.)

20 prayer flags
Twenty prayer flags hang in my backyard. This, number 20, is for Mary.
You can join me and others and make your own prayer flags, and if you'd like, be part of The Prayer Flag Project.
And I wrote an article for Cloth Paper Scissors on prayer flags.

Prayer Flags
Prayer Flag 18: for Light. Light was one of my words for 2011 was Light. Light of heart. Sharing the light...
Here's a little tutorial on this prayer flag. I love stencils, and use them in lots of ways in my work.
The markers for fabric are really easy to use.
Artist Cellar has a number of new and very cool stencils. I especially love the cathedral series. Oh, I love the steam punk series too!
I used the stencils with acrylic paint on this prayer flag for my friend Jill. I used the traditional japanese stencils for hers. She loves blue and white!
Go over to the Prayer Flag Project blogspot, and check out the wonderful group prayer flag project I recently did with a group of my friends.
