Peonies and Ponies

I'm totally enamored with peonies! I was in Maryland recently, and witnessed them growing in the gardens and coming into bloom in a vase on the table. They are sooo beautiful! They don't grow in San Diego, so of course, they seem even more precious.

Spring in San Diego

 
It's beginning to feel like Spring in San Diego. How can we tell? The temperature has risen from 75 to 79 degrees? The sky is blue, the sun is shining? Everyone is going to the beach? oh yea, that's all year 'round.
 

I took these photos on a recent walk around my neighborhood.

Crape Myrtle

Crape Myrtle trees are blooming in San Diego right now. I love them and am fascinated with all the colors they come in. I took these photos on my neighborhood walk.





The red is my favorite.

How I see

Husb and I went to Balboa Park this week, and visited the San Diego Museum of Art. When I go places, these are the kinds of photos I take:




As I was preparing this post, I thought the photos would be one post, and my latest stitched monotype would be another post. Then I realized how similar my inspiration photos are to my work. Funny how something that should be obvious occurs to you, isn't it?
