Gift Tags

Good afternoon!  Still finishing your Christmas wrapping?  Mine is all done for once, but I thought I'd share with you the tags that I made for mine this year, in case you are still finishing yours!
These tags were very quick and simple to make but look so effective when added to the gift!  I used one of the So Wrapped Doohickey dies to make the tags - this one is Swirly.  I cut them from gold cardstock that is white on the other side so then your Christmas message can be written inside.  I wrote mine with a gold pen to complete the look.
The bows were made with the Tim Holtz Bow Tied die from the wrapping paper I have used - this way they match perfectly!  In all I made thirty tags and because the wrapping paper is so thin I was able to cut four bows at a time, which really helped speed the process up!
Here you can see how well they match my gift wrap!
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x

Ribbon Girl DT - Teacher Gift Tags

Good morning!  I thought I'd pop on to share the simple gift tags I created for my daughter's teacher thank you gifts.  I made three in total - all identical.  They match the cards I made here.  After die cutting the circles and matting to form 'blackboard' tags I embellished them with flowers, berries, apples and ribbon from the Ribbon Girl.

I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x

Ribbon Girl DT - Magnolia Only Challenge - Make a Tag

Good morning!  It is time for a new Magnolia only challenge over at The Ribbon Girls and this week we would like you to make a tag.  I had great fun making this using lots of different messy techniques which I haven't done for a while.  First I stamped various Tim Holtz stamps onto the tag with Stazon ink before painting over with Gesso.  Once the Gesso was dry I stamped Sneaky Tilda and the sweet little birds over the top.
I have coloured Tilda and the birds with Prismacolor Pencils and added dots with a white gel pen.  I love how you can see the background stamping through Tilda.

All of the flowers are from the Ribbon Girl, and so is the key charm.
The key charm, button twine and seam binding are also from the Ribbon Girl, although the seam binding started out blue and I have died it to match the birds with Distress Inks.
I did the same with the white rose organza trim.  The pearl trim and and pink tutu trim are also from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you like my tag and I've inspired you to join us at The Ribbon Girl this week.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations.  Thanks for looking! x

Stempelglede DT - Gift Wrap and Tag

Good morning!  I have some tags and gift wrap to share with you today using the gorgeous Stempelglede Stamps.  I needed two thank you gifts recently and decided to make them extra special by creating gift tags for them.  Then when it came to wrapping them I only had plain paper in my wrapping paper drawer so decided to spruce that up a little too.
On the gift tags I used a stamp from the Postcard from Paris collection and painted with Distress Ink pads.  The vintage seam binding is from Live & Love Crafts.  I stamped a border stamp from the Vintage Baby collection onto the pink wrapping paper following the edge of the wrap around I made with blue wrapping paper.
On the blue wrapping paper I used a stamp from the Vintage Baby collection, stamped with Black Stazon to ensure it didn't smudge on the shiny surface.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking.  Enjoy your day! x

Father's Day Card

Good morning!  I thought I'd share the Father's Day card and gift tag I made this year.  Actually, I made two identical cards - one for my Father in Law too!  I must confess they were very last minute as I have had a lot on over that last few weeks and didn't have time to sit down to make them until Saturday night!
The tag is very simple, just some Webster's Pages stickers for the wording and two types of ribbon from The Ribbon Girl across the bottom and to attach it to the gift.
I've used Webster's Pages stickers again on the card and simply cut out different size stars using a Sizzix die - I love this die, it is invaluable for men's and boy's cards!
As with the tag, the ribbons are from The Ribbon Girl.  The 'you're the BEST!' was hand written with a white gel pen.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Vintage Gift Tags

Good morning!!  It is the last day of school here today so a somewhat exciting day :).  I personally cannot wait for a lie in tomorrow morning lol!  As always I had left the actual wrapping of my children's teacher thank you gifts to the last minute and created these rather swiftly yesterday afternoon!  I love how they turned out though and have plans to revisit the idea in a less hurried fashion very soon.
To create the backgrounds on the tags I first stamped a Tim Holtz flourish stamp with embossing ink before embossing with clear powder so that when I inked over the tag it created a resist effect.  I have inked the tags with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.  I have then stamped a Hero Arts script stamp with Adirondack Ink in Cloudy Blue.
Next I used a gorgeous Stempelglede Stamp from the Vintage Garden collection and stamped with Adirondack Ink in Coffee.  I have then added vague areas of colour to the flowers and leaves using a Prima Pastel Pink Chalk Edger and Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  The edges have been distressed and inked with  Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I created the large wild roses with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die using the wet cardstock technique.  I have then inked the edges with the Prima Chalk Ink to tie them in with the roses on the tag.
Underneath each rose is a lace bow and I've added some cute apples from Live & Love Crafts for the traditional "apple for the teacher" theme.
The gorgeous pink ribbon is from my stash.
I've also added a white blossom to each tag.  These are from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Going Green!

Woohoo!!!  I'm so excited to show you my creation this evening and tell you about our new challenge over at Magnolia Down Under Challenge.  We want you to "Go Green" this week, no, not with envy lol, we want you to recycle something to use on your card/project!
This is what I chose to recycle - some of the products at The Ribbon Girl come wrapped around these cute ribbon cards - one was sitting on my desk just crying out to be altered :)!
I really wanted to give Tilda as a Clown #261 a white face so decided to get my pencils out from their hiding place!  I'm so glad I did, I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this tag!  Once I had coloured Tilda I decided to create a harlequin pattern background which has also been created with pencils.  I then added stickles over some of the blue diamonds.  Tilda just had to have a clown nose - she didn't seem right without one so I have coloured a pearl with a red copic for her nose.
I have also recycled the green net ribbon which was tied around a bouquet of flowers I received a while ago.  The ric rac is from The Ribbon Girl.
I added some faux stitching on the right side of the tag along with some paint splashes where the harlequin background is unfinished.  The green stars are actually the sepal section pulled from some blossom flowers and I've added gems to the centre.
I added some Webster's Pages trim along the bottom of the tag and another star and an explosion of ric rac.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to recycle something for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenge!  The rest of my teamies have come up with some amazing recycling ideas - why not pop over to the blog and have a look.  Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Teacher Gifts

I have a fun little project to show today that I made for my little boy's teacher gifts.  Firstly I have to say excuse the crinckle look to the wrapping paper - he insisted on wrapping it himself lol!  I had a little jar of sweets and I thought it would be fun to make an apple shaped bag to take it to school in.  It worked out quite well I think.
The "An Apple For You" sentiment is from Whiff of Joy and I added leaves to the apple using a doohickey die.  I don't know why these photos look really strange on the apple but too late to do anything about it now as the gift has already left the house!
On the back of the bag I added another set of leaves and a message tag.
A view from the top of the bag.  As the jar of sweets was quite heavy I made the base with very thick chipboard and wrapped the ribbon between layers in the side and bottom so that the bag wouldn't break under the strain!  It worked brilliantly I'm pleased to report!
When I saw the state of the wrapping (bless him lol) I thought I needed to cover it a little bit without offending him so made a band to match the apple bag using some spotty Graphic 45 paper and then created an apple shaped tag to match the bag.  Luckilly he thought it was great!
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x
