TOMIC Challenge - Winter

Good morning!  We are back with our first challenge of 2020 over on the TOMIC blog today, and our theme is 'Winter'.  Perhaps it is a good opportunity to get ahead on your Christmas cards already!

I have used Ski Star Tilida from the Waiting For Christmas Collection and painted her with Distress Inks, as usual, before cutting her out completely to add to my card.

I have used the snowflake embossing folder from Magnolia for the background of my card and then added the winter village scene from Doohickey Volume 7 in front of it.

I have added some white seam binding and a ski charm from Craft Heaven to complete the card.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at TOMIC this month.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.

TOMIC December Challenge - A Christmas Gift Box

Good morning!  I hope you've had fun opening your Advent calendars this morning!  If you managed to get your hands on the Magnolia Advent calendar you might recognise the little cuties on my gift box today for our new TOMIC challenge.  I have created a round gift box with gold and cream cardstock for a sophisticated Christmas look.

For the tag I have used a Doohickey from Volume 23 and the mini wrapping tag and Tilda from the Advent calendar's early bird envelope.  It is difficult to see in the photo but I have added some Wink of Stella to Tilda's trousers to make them a shiny gold.

This little wrap tag will come in handy for all sorts of tags and bags!

I used the same circle as the tag on the lid of my box and topped it with a paper bow and pine fronds created with the incredible Doohickey die from Volume 1, and topped them with a jingle bell.

I added tiny snowflakes cut with the Doohickey dies from Volume 23 and the edge of the lid was cut with a lace edge Doohickey from the same volume.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this month at TOMIC.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning gift boxes!

TOMIC #8 - Blue and Brown

Good morning!  It is time for another challenge over on the TOMIC blog, and this month our theme is 'Blue and brown'.    This was the perfect colour combination to provide me with an idea for my dad's birthday card.  I always find men's cards tricky!  The papers are all from Maja Design.

I painted the Dot Muffin stamp from the A Little Yummy For Your Tummy collection with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I then added 'Dad' with some alphabet stamps from my stash.  I created the background for the muffin with two different sentiment stamps: Happy Birthday, from the You Are So Special collection, and It's Your Birthday, from the Yay It's Your Birthday collection.  The muffin has been curved to add a realistic shape and added to the card with foam pads.

You can see how it curves in this photo!  I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this month at TOMIC.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  Thanks for looking!

TOMIC #6 - Clean & Simple

Good morning!  Today I'd like to share my card for our September challenge over on the TOMIC blog, 'Clean & Simple'.  Not an easy one for me, I always want to add things, but luckilly I needed a card for my brother's birthday.

I have painted the Phone Booth stamp with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  The 'Brother' sentiment is a die cut I have in my stash.

I added a little doodling in a couple of corners using a fine line pen before mounting the card front on black, kraft and white cardstocks on 3D pads to add some dimension to the card.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at TOMIC this month.  Check out the rest of the team's gorgeous creations on the blog.

TOMIC Inspiration Post - Christmas in August

Good morning!  I am a little late with my inspiration post this month as I have been on holiday and didn't get chance to schedule it before I left.  Today I have another Christmas card to share using one of my favourite Christmas stamps from Magnolia- Frozen Tilda.

I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique and added some snowflakes with a white gel pen.

The card shape, snowflakes and pine branch have been cut with Doohickey dies from Vintage Box 4 which was recently available on Hochanda.

The snowflakes look so pretty and sparkly cut from glitter paper with a gem in the centre!

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to start your Chrismtas cards!

TOMIC #5 - Christmas in August

Good morning!  Today it is time for a new challenge over on the TOMIC blog after our extended summer challenge.  Our theme for this month is 'Christmas in August'.  It's never too early to start making Christmas cards.  Even though I know this I still leave it until at least October every year!  Hopefully this challenge will help us all to get organised!

This is one of my favourite Christmas Tildas - Heavenly Tilda from the Aspen Holidays Collection.  As usual I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I have also added a touch of Stardust Stickles to her halo and the sparkles around her.

The cute bells and bows die cuts were cut with Doohickey dies from Vintage Box 6.  The card was cut with the frame from the same set.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to make a start on your Christmas cards (if you haven't already) and join us at TOMIC this month.  Thanks for looking!

I have painted Lazy Day Tilda from the Pool Party collection with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.  I have also used the postmark stamp from the With Love From Paris stamp collection at the side of the image.

The strawberries were made with Maja papers and the Magnolia Strawberry die and the flowers and lace are from Craft Heaven.

The ice-cream was also cut with a Magnolia doohickey and I've topped it with strawberries cut from one of the Maja Design papers.

TOMIC #3 - May Flowers

Good morning!  Our new challenge starts today over on the TOMIC blog and this month our theme is "May Flowers".  I have used some gorgeous paper from the Maja Summertime paper pad and another one from the Denim Collection.

I inked up the gorgeous Tilda from one of the Magnolia Day kits again and this time masked her with the honeycomb background that was in the kit.  I  have painted them with Distress Inks as always.  To make the honeycomb look more realistic I gave it a coat from a Wink of Stella pen and I have added Startdust Stickles to her wings.

I used the flower border from Doohickey Kit Volume 4 to add some detail to the bottom of the image.

The flowers are from Craft Heaven and the leaves were cut with the Rose Leaf Doohickey.

The sentiment is from the Magnolia Day kit too and I have cut it out with a tag from Doohickey Kit Volume 5.  The seam binding and charm are from Craft Heaven too.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at The Official Magnolia Blog this month.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  Thanks for looking!
