Magnolia-licious DT - "W"ednesday Post

Good morning!  It is time for me to share another 'W'ednesday post with you on the Magnolia-licious Blog.
I have chosen to use Wallflower from Saturated Canary on today's card.  I've painted her with Distress Inks and added a touch of Stickles to the flowers in her hair and on her shoes.
The sentiment has been embossed with two different powders mixed together for a bit of sparkle.
 It is from Tim Holtz.
All of the flowers are from The Ribbon Girl except the printed one which I have made myself using a Doohickey from the Vol 5 kit.
I doodled faux stitching around the edges of both paper panels and also added a key and button twine which are also from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking.  I hope you find time to pop over to the Magnolia-licious blog to see the creations from the rest of the team.

Magnolia-licious DT - "W"ednesday Post

Good morning!  It is time for my first "W"ednesday post of 2015.  I have chosen the gorgeous Saturated Canary image "Windy Day".
I have coloured her with Distress Ink Pads and added some highlights on her lips and cheeks with a white gel pen.

I have used one of the tag dies from the Doohickey Vol 3 kit behind the image, cut from MME papers.  The lace, cheesecloth, pearl trim and resin bird are all from The Ribbon Girl.

I made the little key by cutting shrink plastic with the key die from the  Vol 3 kit, shrinking it and then painting it with Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

The laces and flowers are also from The Ribbon Girl.

Scattered among the flowers I have used leaves cut with the Rose Leaf Doohickey.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking.  If you have time why not pop over to the Magnolia-licous blog to see the other "W"ednesday creations.

The big one-o!

Good morning!  I've just returned from a wonderful holiday and thought I'd catch up with you all by sharing the card I made for my 'little' boy who was ten while we were away.  Ten!  I honestly can't believe he is ten already, time certainly flies by!  He loves Star Wars so this Saturated Canary digi was perfect for his card.
Once I'd coloured the image I set to work drawing a background around them from a scene in one of the movies.  The images and scene are coloured with copics.
The 10 is some grungeboard numbers embossed in silver.  I also created a death star to peep over the top of the card.  The star border along the top was created with a Martha Stewart punch.
I have hand written the comic strip sentiments and the ribbon is from my stash.
I hope you have a lovely day and thanks for looking! x

I have coloured this gorgeous image from Saturated Canary with copics and added stickles to her dress and liquid pearl dots to her hair.
All the flowers are from The Ribbon Girl and so is the gorgeous seam binding.  The butterflies were cut with a Tim Holtz die.

The Sketchy Challenges DT - Cordine's Sketch

We have a stunning sketch for you this fortnight at The Sketchy Challenges created by Cordine!!  We are sponsored by the amazing Krista from Saturated Canary and she has very kindly offered all of the DT an image to play with for this challenge!!  Thank you so much for your generosity Krista!  I chose the gorgeous "Windy Day" for my card.  The paper is by Magnolia.  The stunning ribbon is from The Ribbon Girls and the lace was a Christmas gift from my lovely friend Louise.
I have coloured the image with copics, and to me, she just had to be on a beach flying her kite so I also sketch in a little beach scene around her with copics.
Here's a little close up of the beach, sea and distant shore.  You can create a quite convincing sparkly sea with just a few strokes of a pen and leaving a lot of white!
The sentiment is from Magnolia, stamped onto a scrap of paper from my stash and the butterflies were cut from some Webster's Pages paper.
For a bit of texture I added some crumpled antique book pages behind the image.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at The Sketchy  Challenges!   Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations!  Thanks for looking! x

Deep Ocean Challenge DT - Swirls

Woohoo!!  It is time for another challenge at Deep Ocean Challenges and this fortnight our theme is "swirls"!!  I have used a gorgeous, gorgeous image from Saturated Canary - I think this is one of my favourite's from all of Krista's gorgeous images!  It is called Queenie and Princess.   I'm also entering my card into Saturated Canary's challenge which is May Flowers.
I have coloured them with copics and added stickles for some girly sparkle!
Here's a close up of their gorgeous faces - I've stickled Queenie's eyelids for some sparkly eyeshadow!
I have created rolled roses using Sizzix 3D flower die and there are also a couple of roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The pins were a gift from my lovely friend Louise and the ribbon is from Whiff of Joy.  My swirls were punched with an EK Success swirl punch.
The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Adage ticket and the glittery paper you can only just see is from First Edition Spring Feast paper pad.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Deep Ocean Challenges!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations!  Thanks for looking! x

The Sketchy Challenges DT - Chantal's Sketch

Woohoo!!  It is time for another fabulous sketch at The Sketchy Challenges and this fortnight Chantal has designed a gorgeous one!!  We are sponsored this fortnight by the amazing Krista from Saturated Canary and she has very generously provided our team with an image each to use.  I have chosen Pricilla Pie as I just adore her hair and gorgeous outfit!  The papers are some scraps from my stash without names but I think they might be by Kaisercraft.  I have used the gorgeous colour combo from Colour Create Challenge of deep purple, bright green and cream.
I've coloured her with copics and added some stickles to her diamond ring and her shoes.  I've inked around the image mat with victorian velvet distress ink.
I used Magnolia's peony doohickey for my flowers and lots of buttons from my stash.  The bow was created with a scrap of lace and a flower from Hobby Craft.  The twine in the buttons is from Whiff of Joy.
The doily is from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop and the pearls in the corners are from my stash.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at The Sketchy Challenges.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations!  Thanks for looking! x

Saturated Canary GDT Call

Today I have a card to share that I have created to enter the Saturated Canary GDT call using the gorgeous Indian girl image by Krista Smith.  The papers are a mix from my stash and I've sewn all the edges and inked with gathered twigs distress ink.
I have coloured the image with copics and inked around the edge of the image mat with antique linen distress ink.
I have added some gorgeous prima leaves, a feather (to match the one in her headdress) and some pine cones for a rustic autumn feel.  The blossom is from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The rose and key charm were both gifts.
I added a couple of brads from my stash.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Saturated Canary Challenge

I was absolutely thrilled to discover I won last week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge's awesome prize of 2 digis from Saturated Canary!! OMG I love these images!! I had a hard time choosing my prize but finally settled on the stunning Zorana and another I'll keep a secret until I show you her :). Of course that means I just had to enter the Saturated Canary challenge which is stitching. I dug around in my scraps drawer for some offcuts so that I could create a patchwork background inspired by Zorana's gorgeous dress!

Isn't she stunning!?!?! I just had to have her as one of my favourite things is to colour hair so how could I resist all that gorgeousness?!?! I have coloured her with copics and added some stitching details with a white gel pen and some stickles to the bells and her frilly underskirt. I have stitched around the image mat a couple of times for a distressed look.

I have created the stripey fabric rose myself and the brad is from Whiff of Joy. The hydrangea was a gift and I added a rose from Wild Orchid Crafts to the centre. The button I snipped off some old trousers my little girl has outgrown (which was also the source of the stripey fabric LOL). The leaves were punched with a punch I forgot I had and I added some strips of cheesecloth to complete the ragamuffin look.

I added some gorgeous seam binding from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop and of course some bells from my Christmas stash to match the bells on Zorana's skirt!

Here's a close up of the stitching I did around my patchwork pieces.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
