A Vintage Birthday Card

Good morning!  I have a vintage style card to share with you today that I made for my dad's birthday recently.  I have used lots of gorgeous Stempelglede stamps and Maja Design papers.

The focal point of the card is the clock face, mounted onto several layers, all stamped with stamps from the Steampunk Journey stamp set and the Grunge Circle stamp.  I have then surrounded the clock with balloons, also from the Steampunk Journey set and some ephemera pieces from one of the Maja papers.  The postcard was stamped with a stamp from the Post Card from Paris stamp set.

The swirl and leaves were cut with Memory Box dies.

The cute letter tags were also cut with Memory Box dies and I added them to some thin wire to add some interest.

The straws are from my stash and the It's your Birthday sentiment is also a Stempelglede stamp, from the Have a Beautiful Day set.

The photo above shows all of the texture and layering - I used lots of 3D pads on this card!

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - Lil Victorian Blog Hop release!!

Woohooo!!! Welcome to the Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Victorian blog hop! If you're hopping along you should have reached my blog from the talented Fran's blog, if not you may want to start back at the beginning at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to enjoy the hop! I have used two of the amazing new images on my card today - Lil Victorian Lilith and Lil Victorian Evie.

The card tells a story around the fab Tim Holtz sentiment "It's never too late to find out who you want to be". Stamped in antique linen distress ink is Lil Victorian Evie - all in her Victorian finery and restrictive corset :( - but underneath it all, deep inside she really wants to be dressed like Lil Victorian Lilith in her amazing Steampunk outfit hehehe!!! I've coloured Lilith with copics and added glossy accents to the glass in her goggles, the ivory handle of her gun and the glass in her watch.

The amazing papers are Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutant. The corset sizes sheet was cut from the backing paper and the corset was cut from one of the other papers too.

I stamped the sentiment onto the reverse of the corset paper - love the colours of this paper! I distressed the edges and stickled them. The pin is one I made myself from a pearl headed pin and a gorgeous bead (from Whiff of Joy but no longer available I'm afraid). The flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts and the gorgeous leaf was a gift from Fran (thanks again hun). I added a few black pearls along the edge of one of the papers too.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Now it is time to hop on over to the amazing Kellie's blog to see what she has created for you! x

BEFORE you hop along, I wanted to let you all know that there is a sale starting today on the 7th May at Tickled Pink Stamps too! Buy 3 rubber stamps and get a 4th FREE.... How amazing is that. While you are free to offer your choice, you may not always get it.

Another Tickled Pink Stamps DT preview!!

Woohoo!! It is time for me to share another preview of the gorgeous new Tickled Pink Stamps range - Lil Victorians!! Meet Lil Victorian Lad Eric!!

I was halfway through making my card (the hot air balloon on this layout) and was going to cut out the globe and telescope from this amazing Webster's Pages paper and just couldn't bring myself to do it LOL - so I decided to put my card onto a scrapbook layout!

I love this picture of my husband and little boy so much - they look so engrossed! It was very sunny when I took it and they had the window behind them so there is a lovely soft light coming from behind them. I printed it in sepia so that it toned with the rest of the page.

Here's Lil Victorian Lad Eric and his balloon in more detail. The balloon card still lifts up and I am going to put some journalling underneath the basket and balloon sections so that you can only see them when you lift the balloon up. I made the balloon from acetate and then added some gorgeous Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutant papers for the balloon and basket. I added ropes with button twin, a cordoruy scrap for a patch on the balloon and some jute ribbon. The amazing coggs are by Tim Holtz.

I have coloured Eric with copics and added glossy accents to the glass in his goggles and on his watch.

The butterfly I've had in my stash for about two years now - no idea where it came from but it was absolutely perfect for the textures of this layout!

This amazing sentiment was another reason I decided to create a layout instead of a card - such a powerful sentiment! This is another from the sentiment set being released at the same time as the images! I stamped it onto kraft cardstock. I added some gorgeous wide jute ribbon and a Basic Grey button too.

The kraft cardstock behind the image is from a scrapbook paper by MME - it has spaces for journalling underneath the title - the whole piece slides out from behind the photo.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Pop over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see more inspiration from the fabulous Pink Ladies using Eric! x

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - Lil Victorian Lad Luca preview!

WOW!!! How amazing was the Royal Wedding!?!?!?! Oh I watched it all and then watched all the news about it too because I didn't want it to end!! I cried so many times too - it was so beautiful and emotional!! How handsome were Princes William and Harry in their uniforms!?!?! and Kate's dress - WOW!! I want to get married again to wear one like it LOL (to my hubby of course LOL). My little boy made me chuckle during the proceedings - I was telling him who was who as they were arriving at the Abbey and told him who the Duke of Edinburgh was - which made him think of The Grand Old Duke of York nusery rhyme bless him and he wanted to know if there was one and where he was. So I spent the rest of the time scouring the screen for Prince Andrew (The Duke of York obviously) and my little boy was disappointed that he didn't have a hat with lots of feathers or any ten thousand men LOL - aren't children cute!! Anyway, enough hogging this preview post with wedding talk and back to business......

Woohoooo!!! It is preview time again at Tickled Pink Stamps and today is my turn to provide you with a sneak peek of Lil Victorian Lad Luca!! These images were just crying out for steampunk of course and was lucky to find some Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutant papers at my local craft shop!! My card is larger than I would normally go for but I just HAD to use this amazing lady with all the coggs in her hair - she matches the sentiment so perfectly!!! The sentiment is also from Tickled Pink, it comes in a set and will be released at the same time as the images.

Luca is coloured with copics and I added some glossy accents to the glass in his goggles. The Steampunk bike image was cut from another Grahpic 45 paper.

The heart behind him is a chipboard one from my stash which I've wrapped in Tim Holtz' tissue tape. I then coloured some seam binding to tie around it and added a cogg - also by Tim Holtz and I added a couple of strips of film strip ribbon by Tim too!!

The sentiment, as I already mentioned, is from a new set coming soon to Tickled Pink Stamps and I've stamped it onto kraft cardstock and added another tissue taped heart and some grungeboard wings (Tim Holtz again LOL). I painted the wings with rock candy crackle paint and then coloured them with vintage photo alcohol ink.

Hope you like it! Pop over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see the cards from the rest of the Pink Ladies and don't forget to pop there tomorrow too for another preview! Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekend! x
