TOMIC Inspiration Post - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  I hope you are enjoying the Easter weekend.  We have made, and already eaten several, Easter nest cakes here and are looking forward to this morning's egg hunt!  You may have already seen today's project if you tuned into Magnolia's debut on Hochanda TV where my lovely team mate Becky created live on the show.  I'm sharing it today on the TOMIC blog.  I saved a pretty yellow egg box ready for decorating as an Easter gift - these are a great idea to give small eggs in.

I had to get an Easter bunny on here, of course, so I chose the sweet Tilda with Little Bunny from the Sunbeam Collection and painted her with Distress Inks as always.  I added Stardust Stickles to her head band and the frills on her pockets.  I also used the cute Sunlight stamp in the background.

To add some extra interest to the image I stamped her face and the bunny's tail twice so that I could decoupage the image.

I used the bird Doohickey from Vintage Box 5 and the recipe card from the Recipe Card Collection to cut out the image.

The sentiment is also from the Sunbeam collection and I've used the feather Doohickeys and flower spray Doohickey from Vintage Box 5 too.  The daffodils were created using the Daffodil Doohickey and stamens from my stash.  I made the little eggs from air drying clay before painting with white acrylic paint, inking with chalk ink and adding the speckles with a Distress Ink marker.

I added the same embellishments at the other side of the egg box.

I made a belly band for the egg box and edged it with lace Doohickey from Vintage Box 3, cut several times.  It makes such a pretty edge!

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  Have a wonderful Easter!

Craft Heaven DT - Bath Bomb Bag

Good morning!  Over on the Craft Heaven blog I'm sharing my Bath Bomb Bag I made for my son to give his girlfriend for Valentine's Day.  The papers are a mixture of Pion Design and Maja Design's Celebration collection.
I have used lots of love themed Doohickey dies - this love tag was from kit 3, Oh La La.
The gorgeous Eiffel Tower die was from the same kit.  I have added some ruched tulle ribbon around the gift bag and added some flowers.
The main flower was made with the Peony Doohickey die from ecru Foamiran.
I used the Heart Tag die for the tag, tied onto the ribbon closure.
The love birds tag is also from the Oh La La kit and I have added feathers cut with a Doohickey die too.
The top of the bag and the band around the middle were edged with the Tilda
Lace Doohickey die.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia-licious DT - BB8 Gift Bag

Good morning!  I am so excited to share my inspiration post for Magnolia-licious this morning!  I'm a huge Star Wars fan so was thrilled when Magnolia brought out their Galaxy Collection, especially as my favourite character of all, Princess Leia, featured in it!  Now technically of course, BB8 doesn't appear with Princess Leia in this actual outfit, but it is just so cute that I'll forgive them!  One of my friends is also a huge Star Wars fan so the stamp was perfect to adorn this gift bag I made for her.  I gave a nod to BB8, who also features in the stamp, when designing the bag, with the circular shape and orange ribbons.
I painted the image with Distress Inks using the no lines technique, as always.  I also added white dots to her cheeks and eyes with a gel pen.
You can find orange satin ribbon at The Ribbon Girl.  I made a double bow for the top of the bag...
... and simply wrapped two rows of ribbon around the bag to give BB8 stripes.  I also added ribbon to the handles.
On the back of the bag I stamped a Tim Holtz 'special delivery' stamp using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, which matched the ribbon perfectly.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  You can find the rest of the Galaxy Collection here at Magnolia-licious.

Magnolia-licious DT - Anything Goes With Ribbon

Good morning!  It is time for another challenge at Magnolia-licious, and this week we have an 'Anything Goes' challenge with the option of adding ribbon.  I have altered a gift box ready to house one of my little girl's birthday presents in a few weeks.  I love being able to reuse things like this.  The box held a gift on my birthday and was originally blue.  I have covered it with gorgeous Pion Design papers and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
For the image it had to be this stunning new Tilda, Dressed for Festivities Tilda.  I have painted her with Distress Inks using the no lines technique.
The sentiments are both Magnolia stamps from quite a few years ago, stamped onto the same papers.
On the lid of the box I added a lace bow, some chiffon ribbon and lots of flowers and leaves.
The cherry blossoms and Magnolia flowers are from The Ribbon Girl, as is the lace.
I used the Rose Leaf Doohickey die for the leaves.
I love the pretty butterflies on the Pion Design paper.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Magnolia-licious Challenge.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  As always Magnolia-licious is sponsoring the challenge with a fabulous prize.

Thanks for looking! x

After Eight Mint Box Cover

Good evening!  I hope your Christmas Eve has been a lovely one so far.  This year I decided to make a box to cover up the dark green of the After Eight Mint Box so that it fits in with the rest of my Christmas table.  I'm very pleased with how it turned out.  I have used papers from Pion Design and dusted off my sewing machine to stitch around the edges.

On the front I have used the new plate Doohickey from the Magnolia Advent Calendar, a snowflake Doohickey and a swirl Doohickey, and finished it off with a Scrapiniec chipboard clock which I've covered in Stardust Stickles.
On the top of the box I've used the same swirl Doohickey and then created a spray of flowers, leaves and berries.
I have used the pine Doohickey to create some fir tree branches and added beaded twirl stems and flowers from The Ribbon Girl.  The berries are from my stash.
In the centre is a Hellebore flower and then the other side matches the left side of the spray.
I have also added a touch of silver flake ribbon from The Ribbon Girl for a bit of sparkle.
On the back of the box I have used the swirl and plate Doohickeys as on the front and topped it with a snowflake made with a Tim Holtz die.
The snowflake is adorned with a crystal and pearl centre from my stash.
The inside of the lid is decorated with the same paper from Pion Design.
I also made some place cards for my Christmas table using some of the dies from the Advent Calendar.
I've used the plate again and the glasses, knife, fork and spoon dies.
I cut the glasses from acetate and have added some Stardust Stickles to the rims to look like they are dipped in sugar.
I used one of the label dies from the calendar to add names to the place card holders.  The hearts came with the glasses dies.  These were also cut from acetate and then coated in Stardust Stickles.
Here's all four that I made for our table tomorrow.
I hope you like them and thanks for looking!
Now that my table is all set for tomorrow I can relax for the evening.  I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and it is everything you hope for. x

Magnolia-licious DT - Spring Blog Hop!

Good morning and welcome to the Magnolia-licious Spring Blog Hop!  If you've arrived here from the super talented
blog than you're on the right track.  If not, and you'd like to start the blog from the beginning, pop over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to start the hop.  I have made a tissue box holder and door hanger for my daughter's bedroom.
Here's a closer look at the tissue box cover.  My little girl has been asking for one of these for a while because she likes the one I made for myself years ago, which I still use.
I've used the super cute Tilda with Spring Flowers on the tissue box, painted with Distress Inks as always.
I have added lots of butterflies.  Some die cut with Spellbinder dies and others punched with  Martha Stewart punch.
The gorgeous papers I've used are from a new paper pad available at The Ribbon Girl, Craft & You's Vintage Time.
I have left the other sides plain so that the box doesn't take up too much room on her bedside table.
The little door hanger was cut with a Doohickey die from the Vintage Box No. 1.  Again I have used the gorgeous papers from The Ribbon Girl.  The lettering was cut with a Tim Holtz die and I have decorated it with butterflies as for the tissue box.
The sign is reversible and says 'Keep Out' on the other side.  The roses and seam binding I've used are also from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you like my bedroom set and thanks for looking!  Now it is time to hop on over to the super talented
