Craft Heaven DT - A Gift Bag

Good afternoon!  I have made a gift bag this week for my Craft Heaven post using two gorgeous new Tilda's from the latest stamp kit.  I have used a mixture of Maja Design papers and papers from my stash.

I don't know the name of these images yet but this Tilda isn't holding the present, she comes with her outstretched hand which you could place all sorts of the small accessory stamps on, which is great!  I've used the small gift stamp that came with the set.  I have painted with Distress Inks and used a white gel pen for the dots on her eyes and cheeks.

The bag was cut with the heart frame from Vintage Box 5 and the balloons are also Doohickey dies.

The sentiment is from the Raising the Ceiling collection and I have added lace and flowers from Craft Heaven.

I also added a rose gold glitter star that I recycled from a bought card.

I used the cut off strips from two different Maja Design papers to make the handle.  I love that Maja Design papers have these strips, they're so useful!

On the back of the gift bag I have used another new Tilda, also painted with Distress Inks.  I have used To and From stamps from a Magnolia kit and cut them out with a tag Doohickey from Volume 3.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Craft Heaven.  Thanks for looking! x

Craft Heaven DT - Bath Bomb Bag

Good morning!  Over on the Craft Heaven blog I'm sharing my Bath Bomb Bag I made for my son to give his girlfriend for Valentine's Day.  The papers are a mixture of Pion Design and Maja Design's Celebration collection.
I have used lots of love themed Doohickey dies - this love tag was from kit 3, Oh La La.
The gorgeous Eiffel Tower die was from the same kit.  I have added some ruched tulle ribbon around the gift bag and added some flowers.
The main flower was made with the Peony Doohickey die from ecru Foamiran.
I used the Heart Tag die for the tag, tied onto the ribbon closure.
The love birds tag is also from the Oh La La kit and I have added feathers cut with a Doohickey die too.
The top of the bag and the band around the middle were edged with the Tilda
Lace Doohickey die.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia-licious DT - BB8 Gift Bag

Good morning!  I am so excited to share my inspiration post for Magnolia-licious this morning!  I'm a huge Star Wars fan so was thrilled when Magnolia brought out their Galaxy Collection, especially as my favourite character of all, Princess Leia, featured in it!  Now technically of course, BB8 doesn't appear with Princess Leia in this actual outfit, but it is just so cute that I'll forgive them!  One of my friends is also a huge Star Wars fan so the stamp was perfect to adorn this gift bag I made for her.  I gave a nod to BB8, who also features in the stamp, when designing the bag, with the circular shape and orange ribbons.
I painted the image with Distress Inks using the no lines technique, as always.  I also added white dots to her cheeks and eyes with a gel pen.
You can find orange satin ribbon at The Ribbon Girl.  I made a double bow for the top of the bag...
... and simply wrapped two rows of ribbon around the bag to give BB8 stripes.  I also added ribbon to the handles.
On the back of the bag I stamped a Tim Holtz 'special delivery' stamp using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, which matched the ribbon perfectly.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  You can find the rest of the Galaxy Collection here at Magnolia-licious.

All About Magnolia DT - All About New

Good morning!  It is time for me to share my creation for this month's All About Magnolia Challenge.  This month our theme is 'All About New', this could be a card for a new baby, new home, new job or even using new stash!  I've opted for the latter, using a couple of new stamps.  I have altered a plain brown paper bag to create a gift bag to give home made cookies in.
My first new stamp is the gorgeous Christmas Merchant's Desk from Magnolia's 2015 Christmas collection.  I have painted it with Distress Inks and also added a tiny diamante gem to the handle on the cash register.
All of the gorgeous embellishments are from The Ribbon Girl.  I have added some white paint to the pine cone.
The second new stamp is this cute 'baked with love' sentiment stamp that I got from a garden centre shop so I'm afraid I cannot tell you who makes it.
I have also used a Stempelglede post mark stamp on the edges of the image from the Follow Your Heart collection.
I have added tags using a Magnolia die behind the image mat.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this month at All About Magnolia.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations.  Thanks for looking! x

Handbag from a skirt!

Today's project is one of the ones that I've been meaning to do for years!  When my little girl became too big for this gorgeous wool and felt skirt I couldn't bear to part with it.  I thought it would make a cute bag so kept it for the past four years in my craft room with the intention of altering it.
The skirt was lined so all I had to do was sew the lining together at the bottom.  I've also sewn some pink tutu trim from The Ribbon Girl into the seam so that it peeps below the wool outer skirt.
It's only visible as you move around with the bag but I think it looks really cute!
Next came the handle.  For this I've used some pink cotton ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and stitched it to the inside of the skirt with red thread for added interest.
Of course, a girl needs a bag charm.  This one was made with a small bronze frame and cameo from The Ribbon Girl.  I've attached it to the bag with some Tim Holtz Ball Chain.  I've also added a magnet clasp on the inside of the waistband for the bag closure.
The bag in use!  Think I might have to borrow this creation if I can get my hands on it ever again, my little girl absolutely loves it!
Hope you like it and thanks for looking. x

Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Doohickey's Only

Good evening!  I'm very excited to share today's creation with you for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenge's theme, which is to only use Doohickeys.  I can't wait to see what you think to my little peacock I've created with the Doohickey Feathers dies!  Once I'd had the idea to make a peacock with the Feathers Doohickey I was determined to make it work, but it took a lot of arranging and re-arranging I can tell you!  Once I had cut all of the feathers from ivory pearlescent cardstock I set to work turning them into colours befitting of a peacock.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Seedless Preserves, Iced Spruce, Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky to ink all of the feathers and then sprayed them with Gold Glimmer Mist before drying with my heat tool.  As the resulting peacock was too large for a card I decided to alter one of the many recycled gift bags I have stashed away.  I've added a pink ribbon handle to the bag but I let it hang inside the bag to take my photographs so as not to detract from the peacock scene :).
I've also used the stunning Orchids Doohickey to cut the orchids from pink vellum.  I've inked the centres with Victorian Velvet and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and then added a single pink stamen to each.  The dots were added with white Liquid Pearls.  I've also used the Heart Swirl Doohickey to cut the swirls from gold pearlescent cardstock.
I used a grunge stamp from the Stempelglede Grunge Collection stamp set around the edges of the purple paper, stamped with Archival Ink in Coffee.
The border paper is from Magnolia and appropriately has peacock feathers all over it.  In the corners of the purple paper I have used the grunge corner stamp from the same Stempelglede set.  The peacock's crown is a gorgeous charm from The Ribbon Girl and the peacock's crest feathers are actually the centre off cuts from some of the feather die cuts.  I also added a gem to cover the charm's thread hole.
I've used a pearl brad to represent the peacock's eye.  The peacock's head is actually the Heart Tag Doohickey, cut in half and layered on top of each other end to end.
The eyes on the peacock's tail feathers were created with purple and aqua coloured gems.
I made the tree branch myself using florist's wire and tape and added some pink blossoms from my stash.
All around the peacock and the flowers I have added tiny dots of Liquid Pearls to add to the ethereal look of the scene.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week using just your Doohickey Dies.  There are so many beautiful Doohickey Dies that you can really let your imagination run wild!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the amazing creations from my teamies!  Thanks for looking! x

Magnolia-licious and Wee STamps DT - Spring Blog Hop!

Hello!!! Welcome to the Magnolia-licious and Wee Stamps spring blog hop!!!  If you've arrived here from the amazing Mindy's blog then you're on the right track.  If not, and you want to start the hop at the beginning then pop back here.  As you can see I have had a lot of fun with the new Doobeepops paper for my Easter inspired projects and a couple of stamps sneaked their way in too!!  Let's start with the basket which is for my little girl to use in our traditional Easter egg hunt which usually ends up being inside as the weather is so bad lol!
I cut the grass shaped top of the basket sides freehand and then attached it to an oval base before adding tulips from Magnolia (blue tulips) and The Ribbon Girl (pink tulips).
I then made lots of tiny little Easter eggs out of the Doobeepops paper (mine is turquoise).
The gorgeous gingham ribbon is also from The Ribbon Girl and the cuter than cute mini Tilda Brings Flower #232 is, of course, from Magnolia-licious!  I've coloured her with copics, which took no time at all - LOVE these minis for that too!  I've popped her on an oval tag with 3D pads for some extra dimension and interest.
On the back of the tag I have used the "Best Before Easter" stamp from the cute egg decorating set  #433 - my children are loving playing with the moustach and crown from this set when they have boiled eggs lol!  Now, let's move onto the egg.
A larger version of the tiny eggs in the basket but this one is for me to decorate the house with!  I added some pearl string from The Ribbon Girl and a gorgeous Prima butterfly.

On the bottom I added a gold spacer from my stash and some large clear beads that I recycled from some packaging.

In three of the segments created by the pearl string I added these gorgeous cabachons from The Ribbon Girl as I think they look like they have been made from creamy white chocolate :).
This egg also matches the Easter card I made recently too!
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my blog!  Now it is time to hop on over to Cabio's blog to see what gorgeous creations she has for you to drool over!  Thanks for looking! x
