Woohoo! A party!

Today I want to share a card I made for one of my husband's friends who's birthday party we went to last weekend! Yes! I actually went out to a party - I haven't been out for a long, long time so it was great to get out and doll myself up! LOL he is a police dog handler so I thought it would be so funny to use this image by Mo Manning!! I think it is just hysterical given his job! He loved it so it was obviously a good choice! The papers are by MME.

I coloured the image with copics and have sewn around the image mat as well as the main backing paper.

The numbers are from a Tim Holtz grungeboard set and I covered them with silver leaf.

I used an EK success punch along the edge of the notebook style paper and added a file tab with a spellbinders die. I drew an arrow from "Age" to the silver 50 LOL!

The ribbon is some paper ribbon from my stash which I've stapled to the card and I added some pearls by Hero Arts.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT - Song Title

Hope you're all having a good week! My hubby is on holiday at the moment so we're taking the kids on days out hence the tumbleweeds round here LOL!! I have a card to share today though as of course it is Wednesday and time for another great challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Challenge!! This week it is a really fun challenge for you - base your card on a song title!!! Now, I have to admit I was stumped for a while until I remembered this Mo Manning stamp which worked perfectly for "Do you want to know a secret?" by The Beatles!!
I have used the colour challenge from Colour Create Challenge for my card using papers from Basic Grey's Indian Summer pad.
I have coloured the image with copics and added a sentiment stamp along the side from my stash.
These Tim Holtz adage tickets were perfect for the telling a secret theme!! I've inked around the edges of them with victorian velvet distress ink and added a large gem from my stash.
Ihave added a couple of Prima flowers. The orange one was placed behind the image for a different look. Again the gem is from my stash.

Hope you can join us this week at Simon Says Stamp's Challenge! The rest of the team have created some amazing cards all cleverly tied in with song titles too!! Thanks for looking! x

Simon Says Stamp DT - Check it out!

Me again!! phew! busy day today! This week at Simon Says Stamp our theme is check it out!! So get out all those checks, gingham and plaids!! I went mad and used gingham paper AND ribbon LOL - check me out!! (sorry couldn't resist LOL) .
The paper is by Magnolia and is available at Simon Says Stamp, as is the image, buttons and flowers on my card today (well they do have just about everything LOL!!). I have followed the fab sketch at Truly Scrumptious for my card although I've swapped the rectangle image for a circle (hope that is OK, understand if it isn't!).

My image is by Mo Manning from Stampavie, called The End of Summer. Isn't it a gorgeous image? Love the laid back dreamy feeling it gives just looking at it! I've coloured her with copics and simply distressed the edge of the image with my Tim Holtz paper distressing tool and did the same again on the red and white layers I've used around the image.

I added three strips of lace from my stash for the elements of the sketch and then went to town on the flowers! The image just screams summer meadow to me so I had to make one for her to be lying in!! All the flowers are by Prima and I've sprayed them with glimmer mist although it doesn't seem to be showing in the bright sunlight I took the photos in! The buttons are by Basic Grey and the ribbon is by Offray from my stash.

The ticket is of course from Tim Holtz, also available at Simon Says Stamp!!

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamps Challenge. Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the teams stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x

Crafty Calendar Challenge

Happy Easter on this Good Friday morning! It is already time for another challenge at Crafty Calendar challenge - thank you all so much for your gorgeous flowery creations last month! This month, in honour of April Fool's day, our challenge is to make a funny card with the option of embossing. It can be a funny image, funny sentiment or even both! My Tim Holtz stamp set has been very busy this week, here is another of his sentiments, which, when teamed with this cute image from Mo's Digital Pencil, I thought was funny (well mildly amusing). I must admit, I struggled as I don't really have any funny images! The stunning papers are MME and I've distressed them with faded jeans distress ink and stickled the edges.

I have coloured Kai in the Rain with copics and then I have embossed in silver the raindrops and press-studs on his coat. I have finally taken the plunge and am now the excited and proud owner of a Big Shot!!! (Well hubby very generously talked me into it as a belated Mother's Day present) I'm completely hooked on it already although I need some more practice with the stencilling through the nesties LOL!

I've used another nestie for the sentiment mat and I have stamped with weathered wood distress ink.

The stunning red rose is from Hobby Craft and has been sprayed with glimmer mist, the leaves are from a Woodware punch. The beautiful aqua gems are from the Hobby House and the buttons are Basic Grey.

The little brads are also from the Hobby House. Aren't these little dancing umbrellas cute!?

Hope you like and I have inspired you to join in with us at Crafty Calendar Challenge! The rest of the team have some great funny cards for your inspiration too! Thanks for looking! x

End of Summer already!?

LOL, couldn't resist playing around with the title of the image on today's card! It is the gorgeous End of Summer stamp by Mo Manning, isn't this just a gorgeous image, with her little feet and her hair blowing in the summer breeze - I love it! This is the last card I have to show you in my little series with the MME papers and Mo Manning images. I was quite surprised at how well the red gingham ribbon went with these papers. I tried several colours before deciding on this one and I think it really makes the card.

I've coloured the image with distress inks and inked around the edge of the image with spiced marmalade distress ink. I created a layered look with 3 different papers from the range and cardstock punched with MS daisy edge punch.

The large flower and the little flower in the centre are from the Hobby House and I've teamed them with a paper flower punched with my EK success retro flower punch.

I made the sentiment with some more of the alphabet beads from the Hobby House in colours that matched the papers.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Bella and Bronte

Sorry, I hope you're not fed up of seeing these Mo Manning cards with the MME papers as I have another one for you! I have inked the edges of the papers with peeled paint distress ink.

This cute image is Bella and Bronte by Mo Manning. Her hair is just like my little girls! I've coloured the image with distress inks - I'm particularly pleased with how her wellies turned out. I loved colouring this image.

The large yellow flower is from the Hobby House and I added a punched flower. The spacer and brad are also from the Hobby House. The zig zag edging is actually the edge of the paper that I've utilised as a border!

I have used some alphabet beads from the Hobby House to make a fun sentiment - perfect for a child's card I think. I also added a cute flower charm from the top flower.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Truly Scrumptious challenge

There is a gorgeous sketch at Truly Scrumptious challenge this week! I've used some more of those MME papers and inked the edges with peeled paint distress ink.

I've used Psst Dani and Taylor by Mo Manning, coloured with distress inks. Wonder what they're gossipping about LOL!

The flowers are from the Hobby House as are the cute little flower beads in the centre, they come in a bag of lots of different colours too! The ribbon and gems are from the Hobby House and I arranged the gems into a swirl myself.

More beads from the Hobby House!! Aren't these great for making up sentiments! I think they look really young and fresh, perfect for the image!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Create 4 Fun challenge

WOW!!! Before I show you my card I have to say a HUGE thank you to all of you for being so lovely and supportive about my little "outburst" last night. I am so touched by everyone's understanding and lovely words and thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I feel truly blessed that you all cared so much to leave me a message or email me and I do feel better for getting it off my chest as it were. I woke up this morning feeling like I've got rid of my upset about the incident and I would like to say that I hope it doesn't stop anybody taking inspiration from anything I make as I'm more than happy for that to happen, just not a complete copy! OK, enough said on the horrible subject I think and onto a nice sunny card to cheer things up around here......

There is a gorgeous sketch over at Create 4 Fun Challenge this week, I just had to join in!! How gorgeous are these papers by My Minds Eye!?!?! It's their Jack & Jill range and I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them!! Now you will notice there are no torn edges (gasp!) - they just didn't suit these papers I didn't think, too fresh and modern for tearing LOL! I've still inked them though, they don't get off that lightly LOL! I've used peeled paint to sponge around the edges. The lovely scalloped paper comes with the holes already punched around the edge too!

I have used one of Mo Manning's gorgeous stamps, Soaking up the Joy. I just think this is my little girl in a few years time, beaming up at the sun! I have coloured her with distress inks and I've inked around the edge of the image lightly with spiced marmalade distress ink.

The flowers, brads and ribbon are all from the Hobby House and I've sprayed them with pearl glimmer mist. The gorgeous flower pins are also from the Hobby House. The punched flower has been punched with an EK success punch and the leaves with a Woodware punch.

The gorgeous border punch is MS daisy punch. I added a few gems along the edges for some extra sparkle, also from the Hobby House.

Hope you like my "different for me" card and thanks so much for looking! x

Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge GD meets Friday Sketchers

This week Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring the Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge and I am their Guest Designer! The challenge is to make a card for someone you love letting them know that God loves them. I have used the brilliant sketch at Friday Sketchers for my card although as my image is rather large you can only just see the corners of the central square of the sketch peeping out from behind the circle! The gorgeous papers are K&Co and I have teamed them with some gorgeous gold pearlescent card.
I have used the stunning "sending peace" image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I absolutely love this image it is so beautiful and I love colouring all the folds of her dress. I have coloured her with copics and the edges are distressed with antique linen distress ink.
The edges of the papers have been distressed with vintage photo distress ink and I have stamped a flourish from Stempelglede around the edges with Vintage Photo too. I'm loving this new swirl punch from EK success, it adds such an elegant touch. You can just see one of the corners in this photo peeping out behind the swirl.
The flowers have been made with EK success retro flower punches using the BP. I have added a gorgeous pearl brad to the centre of the largest flower and some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts on the smaller flowers. The sentiment I made on the computer and used a Woodware circle punch for the sentiment mat.

Hope you like it and can join in the challenge, thanks for looking! x

Friday Sketcher's and DP2 challenges

I was incredibly lucky enough to win challenge 13 on DP2 challenge and got to choose one of Mo's amazing digi images as a prize!! It took me ages to decide but I finally settled on this adorable "Flossie and her doll". Gorgeous isn't it!? I have used the wonderful sketch at Friday Sketcher's challenge and the colour combination at DP2 challenge which is white, bashful blue, almost amethyst and elegant eggplant.
I have coloured Flossy with copics and distressed around the edge of the image with walnut stain distress ink and stickles. The sentiment I have written with a silver gel pen.
The lilac rose is from Hobby Craft and the small white ones are from Wild Orchid Crafts. They've been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist and I've added a few white branches punched with my MS branch punch.
The gorgeous spotty ribbon and the pearls are from my local craft shop, Running With Scissors and the butterflies have been punched with MS monarch butterfly punch. I coloured the edges lightly with a copic, blended in and then covered them in stickles.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
