How do you sort scraps?

I have seen so many tips on saving and sorting scraps that I thought I would show you how I do mine.

Top left, I have a strip left over so, lower left, I place it on top of the corespondent fabric and then, right picture I fold and store them together. If I only have a smidge left I store them by color in shoe box size containers. I slip marked index cards in the storage box with the color written on them so if I need to change it, I just change the card.

I have always been afraid to cut the fabric into sizes as I know if i cut one inch I will need it two inches!!

I have six more but these tend to be the ones I use the most.

Happy Sewing!

A Post To Share

I would like to share a post with you that you may not have seen.

Amanda Jean from  Crazy Mom Quilts
gave me permission to share her quilt with you....

I simply adore this quilt.

My Katie Jump Rope was my quilt for 2013 all pieced and quilted by hand.

I was so inspired by Amanda Jean's quilt that I decided that this will be my 2014 quilt!

I am so excited!!

Of course I have scraps and I cannot believe I am even saying this but I have to get more!!
Must find scraps!

Thank you to Amanda Jean for allowing me to share this quilt.
Amanda Jean has posted more about her quilt on her blog.
