Hello Blog World... Happy New Year .....I Have Missed You!

Sometimes work gets in the way of everything ! I love my job but it keeps me hopping with very little time to spare. I have missed not sharing my "ponderings "and memories with my blogger friends.  I will pick up where I left off in March and share Maddie's Seaside Cottage with you.

                                          We began here...

Here are a few "after photos.
Black and white accents and a bright kelly green door.
A Tybee Turquoise ( jane coslick colors) painted concrete porch floor. Pink rose bushes and a brick path will be added soon.
We saved the wonderful old windows and added these  awnings to help with the summer sunshine

the bunk pillows are from WWW.celeadonhome and the round throw pillows from the"Joy"
collection at Target

a typical Tybee closet...hooks and a basket

the colors and fabrics flow to the back bedroom and sprinkle all through the  cottage.

the kitchen got new counter tops and the top cabinets around the bar are gone. It opens the space and makes the biggest difference.

Picking Colors……When your favorite color is White!!!!

It is now time to get serious about the colors of the cottage  called Maddies Beachside Cottage. The owners have left all decisions to me to select the color and fabrics and furniture. There is one large pecan tree on the property and shades and trees are always a consideration when selecting colors.
The ocean is 1/2 block away ( the "information hut" I designed for the city of Tybee) is close by

location! location! location!
I had thought about bright and Happy colors…………………….

                                                      HOWEVER……..

My  personal favorite color is WHITE!!! I love it's simple calm unassuming nature…………...

Time Keeps on Slipping...

Hello world. Are you still there? Remember me, your friend, Jane Coslick? I just wanted to say Happy Labor Day. Happy Halloween. Happy Thanksgiving. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Yes indeed. That is how long I have been M.I.A from the blog. I have been basking in my new found Grandmotherly bliss. I have been blessed with beautiful twins, a boy and a girl. When I haven't been spoiling my precious grand children rotten I have been up to my eyeballs in design projects. That's a good excuse right?

I have missed blogging and interacting with all of you. It's one of my favorite things to do. Every time I found myself intending to sit down and publish a post time would slip away. So here I sit wondering where to start or what topic to hit on first. I think I will just switch up this year and talk a little about this and that.

Since I never share candid photos of myself I thought I would share some vintage family images. Who doesn't love a good vintage photo. These were discovered in my storage unit. Always happy to find old photos. My sister Joy and and me at Christmas …My Mom and her brother in their Speedy Coaster wagon and my sister Joy in the waves at the beach. Great memories.

Ahhh the waves of the ocean! That sound never gets old. There is just something so calming about the the sound of the ocean. This next pic was taken early one morning in December. I was getting ready for the 4th Annual Jane Coslick Holiday Cottage Tour. Most folks were still sound asleep on Tybee.

The Island kitties like to sleep in too. Not me though. I'm an early riser. I like to get up and get the day going.

My Mom is busy with a photo shoot for The Best Of Flea Market Style magazine at Southern Tides. This wonderful quilt I am sitting on is now in master bedroom of Southern Tides. I miss it! I think I look great sitting on it. .. It matches my eyes

When I'm not busy shooting with magazines you find me doing what I love to do best designing and preserving these amazing old cottages on Tybee.

There never seems to be enough hours in the day. Can you tell I have a thing for polka dots?

Football. I love football. Not sure who is winning because I am a kitty..but I love the game. It keeps my humans home and happy.

Here is a view of my porch on Tybee. This is where I end my day. I promise I will not wait so long to blog next time friends. Have a great week.

Sundew Sunday….

Sundew on Sunday…a happy little cottage I must say!! A great collaboration between my client and I has made us great friends and "partners in crime" on this project.
A few more images for you . ….We are getting steps for the back to the pool and a few more touches here and there. In cottage design, the fine line between "to much" and "not enough" is tricky. Everything that comes thru the door occupies more space that in a normal size house. It takes less  and what does come in …comes in larger than life.

These are vintage  pieces of architecture converted  to make the trellis for Sundew Cottage  . I bought them in Nashville and have saved them for something very special…….
