Jordan loves snickers salads. I finally made one a couple weeks ago. I searched through SO many different recipes (some call for pineapple, some for bananas, some yogurt, milk, marshmallows, red apples, etc). I finally just picked one and made it. YUM! It tastes like a caramel apple! And I Love caramel apples! I don't think I'll be changing recipes. We've already made it three times since then! So I decided it was 'Recipe Scrapbook' worthy :)

Texas Sheet Cake & Fruit Dip
I was surprised last that week was the first time I made this cake while married. And even more surprised that my Texan husband had never had it! What? haha
It is a delicious cake! And the fact that it can be done and ready to eat in about 30 minutes is even better!
The key is to frost it as soon as you take it out of the oven and let the frosting soak into the cake. Yummmm!

Steak Gorgonzola & Veggie Lasagna
Ok, I know I have been bad about posting my recipe cards. I'll try to do better :) I just don't have that many FAVORITE recipes yet.
{So send me yours}
:)
This first one is my favorite dish at Olive Garden. It was a little hard to fit everything onto one card, so hopefully it makes sense. Just make sure to read through all of it, before you start to make it.
I still haven't found an alfredo sauce that I just LOVE, so just make your favorite (and maybe share the recipe with me so I can try it out too), or you can even use a jar.
I used Olive Garden's Alfredo Sauce recipe when I made this last time. It turned out good, but I think the egg yokes can be halved {my sauce was yellow, not white - yuck - I guess it still tasted ok though}
And the gorgonzola cheese can be substituted for regular blue cheese
But DO NOT substitute shredded parmesan for grated. When I was making this I only had shredded so I sent Jordan to the store to pick up some grated parmesan. I emphasized "GRATED nor shredded" 3 times, and said "right by the pasta and sauce" at least twice. He came home with shredded parmesan from the refrigerated section. Haha haha. We both had a good laugh and he admitted he "wasn't really listening." Well, at least he was willing to go to the store for me without any complaints :)
And really, once I added the rest of the ingredients you can hardly tell the sauce was lumpy. (I even put the cheese in my food processor first, still didn't do the trick)
The first time I had Vegetable Lasagna I was at my grandparent's house. When my grandma told me what we were having I was so grossed out (I was little. And quite a picky eater). Then I tried it. And YUM! I couldn't get enough!

Not Your Typical Enchiladas
This weekend we're heading to Utah to spend Easter and General Conference weekend with family. We can't wait!! We just wish we didn't have to come back Sunday night.
Yesterday my S.I.L reminded me that I haven't been posting my recipe cards. Oops. So here are a couple.
I think these enchiladas are DELISH, but if someone else tries them, let me know what you think (for those of you who have my typical recipe - this one is NEW)
I love white sauce enchiladas (the filling part), but not the white sauce. I like to use red sauce. But my little Calin Bug doesn't like things that contain tomato sauce, so I've had to change up my recipe while nursing. And I think I like this one more anyway :)
The corn tortillas make a HUGE difference (I've tried it with flour, and ended up wrapping the leftovers in corn because it's so much better) they are harder to work with, but definitely worth the extra work. And of course you don't have to use a crockpot, but oh it makes it so much better!
{Sorry I don't have a pic, once I finally remember to take one I'll add it on}
I made this cake a couple years ago for Jordan's birthday while we were in Philly. It's so yummy, and easy to put together. If you don't already have most of the ingredients, it can get a bit pricy, but still way cheaper than buying an ice-cream cake. And really, it is YuMMy!!
Hope you all have a good Easter! Don't forget to watch Conference :)

Buttermilk Syrup
I'm not a big syrup fan. I feel it overpowers the actual food itself a little too much for me. But I love buttermilk syrup! Yum! Next time you make Pancakes, waffles, or french toast, try this syrup!
Also, growing up my mom always made buttermilk pancakes and waffles with Bisquick mix (actually my grandpa made the BEST ones, but moms were still delish). Maybe it's just because I grew up on them, but I haven't found a recipe I like more, and I've tried quite a few. Try it yourself and let me know what you think. Just follow the recipe on the Bisquick box, omit the regular milk, and add the same amount of buttermilk as you add Bisquick (example: 2 cups Bisquick, 2 cups buttermilk, 1 egg, 2 Tbsp oil - for waffles)
I just like how easy this recipe is. No prior prep whatsoever. Just dump it all in, make some noodles or rice, and you have a yummy main dish.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Last week I bought two bags of these
to make this cake (found at kevinandamanda.com)
We're down to one bag. Hmm . . . hope that will be enough. Next time I will have to buy the Reese's the same day.
Sugar cookies are so fun to make. Even Jordan enjoys it (notice his "I can be your superman" cookie?). This is the recipe I like to use. The icing is one of my favorites. It's shiny, and smooth, and it dries hard.

More Recipes
Earlier this week I spent some time sewing with some neighbors. Two of them have girls who are about 1 1/2 months older than Calin (the other little girl was asleep by the time I realized I could snap a photo with my phone). He has so much fun with them. Braylie may look smaller than Calin, but she is so active and mobile she always ends up right next to Calin. It's cute. Calin sticks his fingers in her mouth and tries to grab her paci, while Braylie tries sharing her toys, but usually just ends up hitting Calin in the head with them. He's fascinated with other babies that can move around more than he can.
And here are the two recipes I finished this week.
You can always just use store bought frosting for the Oreos if you want to skip a step.
(I like to put mine in the fridge when they're done - AND DON'T over cook them!!!!!)
This taco seasoning is soo good! Way better than the packages you can buy at the store! And many people usually have all of the seasonings already on hand. My S.I.L Kelly shared it with me when I was making tacos, thought I had some seasoning and didn't. I like to make a bunch ahead of time and store it (usually just use the chili powder container), but I also included the measurements for just one time use.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!

This Week's Recipes
I can't believe I went all week without a single post!
Well, here are two more recipes for you guys to try over the weekend ;)
Jordan even helped making this recipe card :)
It's great wrapped up as an enchilada style burrito also! Just pour some enchilada sauce on top and sprinkle on some cheese, put it in the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt.

Recipe Cards
Just about anytime time I cook, I look up my favorite recipes online. Then I have to remember what changes I usually make to it. So one of my goals this year was to finally put together a recipe box or book. I couldn't decide how I wanted to do it.
This week I decided. And this was my inspiratin.
I just started yesterday, and I am having so much fun with it!
I am hoping to make at least 2/wk, which should give me over 100 recipe cards by the end of the year (wow do I have that many recipes? Maybe you can help me find some good ones :)
These are the ones I've made so far. I thought I would post them in case any of you wanted the recipes. You should be able to just print them off from here, but let me know if you did want them and they aren't printing correctly (should be 5x7).
