Ocean City, NJ

We took another trip to the Jersey Shore this weekend, but this time we went to Ocean City, NJ.  The beach was so much better than Atlantic City, and the boardwalk was huge!  The weather report predicted a chance of thunderstorms, but the weather turned out to be perfect.  And we took lots and lots of pictures!
Jordan and David went body surfing in the super cold water
Brittany and I got our feet wet, but for the most part we stayed out of the water so we could snap pictures of our good looking husbands.
We had fun taking lots of silly pics.  I love this one of Brit, she looks so cute
The boardwalk went on for miles.  I think it wraps all the way around the island?  They had carnival rides, water slides, miniature golf courses, cute little shops, and of course lots of food!

It was such a fun day, and nice to relax at the beach.  It almost felt like we were back on the West Coast in California.  Until the sunset anyway.  It just wasn't the same with the sun setting behind us as we looked out over the ocean.

Craft Night

A bunch of us got together yesterday for a craft night and made refrigerator magnets. Jessica bought TONS of crafty stuff for all of us to use. We did it in the office, and I had to work last night, so I kept running back and forth answering the phone, but still managed to make 4 cute magnets by the end of the evening :) It was so nice to something crafty like that!!
Clockwise from left to right: Me, Jessica, Courtney, Megan, Tamara, Hailey, & Mandy. Erin took the picture, and Vanessa & Tammy were there too with their cute kids. There were 10 (I think) kids there, I can only imagine how amazing that table covered in crafty goodies looked to all the little ones!

And here is the finished product. Cute huh?!
Thanks again Jess!

Pool Party!

The APX Philly-South Office

While I was still in California, APX threw a pool party for everyone in the office. They had a huge BBQ and played all kinds of pool games. They had a belly-flop contest, a high jump contest, and then at the end they they threw about $500 worth of quarters in the pool to see how much each guy could scrounge up. I can imagine how funny it must have looked with that many guys in such a small pool, and all of them going crazy hunting for money!! Here's some pictures of it . . .

The D.C. Temple

This morning we finally made the 2 hour drive to the D.C. Temple!  Pictures just don't do this temple justice.  Everyone always says it is one of the most beautiful temples, but by the pictures I would never have guessed.  Kind of like the Oakland temple maybe?  But in person, it is so incredible!  And it is huge!!  For seven years (as long as I have been a member) I have wanted to go to this temple.  And it is also the temple that Jordan's parents were sealed in :)  So this was a special experience for us this morning!
We left at 5:40 am, and just barely made it in time for their fist session of the day, 8:00am.  We had to get the guys back in time for their 12:30 meeting, so we had to rush right back home after the session.  We did take a minute to snap a few quick pics though.  Hopefully I get to take a girls trip and go back soon so I can have more time to enjoy the beauty!
We went with our friends Mandy and Jordan Barben.  They just got married this summer :)

Another day in Philly

A few Sunday's ago Jordan and I went to Philadelphia again with Brittany and David.  Then we randomly spotted Mandy and Jordan there too, so we hung out with them a while as well.  We went to the Philadelphia Art Museum, Love Park, tried to go to Penn's Landing but it was closed, and then got some philly cheese steaks downtown.  Here are some fun pictures . . .

Here we are on the 'Rocky Steps' outside the Philadelphia Art Museum.
There is a great view of the city from the top of the Philadelphia Art Museum steps
Here is our famous Rocky picture - I look really really silly I know, but at least it's funny.

And here we are at Love Park <3

Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks are the two most famous places to get a real philly cheese steak (so I've been told anyway) and they are right across the street from each other.  Both are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!  And they say the line never ends.  It can be 3am and there will still be lines at both restaurants.  But the only place to sit is outside.  We went to Pat's because we heard from friends who went to Geno's that it wasn't good at all.  I think the workers get paid for being as rude as possible to tourists.  They didn't give a single one of us what we really ordered.  They just told us what we're "supposed" to order and said (in a mean tone of course) that if we don't like it, they'll buy us a new one.  So we all got it with cheese-whiz and onions.  Funny huh?!  Who would have thought to put cheese-whiz on steak?  But it actually wasn't too bad.
