Sego Kitchen progress

The kitchen is nearly done here.
Fine-tuning the lights, and working on the punch list.
We'll be waiting on a few Miele appliances to finish it all out,
and there are a few remaining pieces of cabinetry still due in.

This shot shows the induction cooktop in action.

plywood adoration society

as a fellow lover of plywood,
I thoroughly enjoyed this video,
"Love Letter to Plywood."

Rainbow cabinets

what's not to love?

bad blogger; I can't recall where I found this.
if you know the source, please tell me!

aluminum and glass wall

rustic building, neither falling down nor over-groomed.
precise metal and glass facade opening up to the landscape, neither neglected nor manicured.
warm light, and tools for cooking.
wonderful.

this blog is fantastic.

drawer door

this door mounted on drawer hardware is a clever idea:
I'm sure it doesn't flop around.

 and I love compact kitchens.
the stainless counters are great, love the color, inventive vent-hood drafting, open shelf, and the juxtaposition of the painted exposed conduit against the precise equipment

no upper cabinets

i noticed this kitchen in the background of a video

and admired the clean look of the ikea shelving instead of upper cabinets.

it sometimes makes it hard for me to follow the plot when the sets are great.

like what is american gigolo even about?

a trellis like this will stall my brain:

what is the spacing of that framing?

are those 2x6?  notice the blue steel post?

how deep is that thing?  Oh, are they still talking?

thanks to here for the images

ikea kitchens

a selection of a few ikea kitchens

We used Ikea cabinets in our house, replacing the fronts on some of the boxes.

They are pretty great quality -
blum hardware, easy to clean inside and out,
and you can get all the self-closers for the drawers and dampers for the doors.

here are a few more that look pretty good to me.
I'm sure the price was right!
Ikea isn't the only way to get nice and affordable cabinets
but it does rank high on the list.
