Different ways with distress ink

I had a class last week looking at different types of ink. This card uses distress ink in different ways. I used a water brush to paint the flowers with the ink off a mat, to distress around the edges and also over a heat embossed image for a resist technique. The stamp is from Stamps by Chloe. The edges have been stamped with the same one as the stem in embossing ink and covered with clear embossing powder. The stem has been stamped in Adirondak Lettuce ink. The flowers have been heat embossed with clear powder again over black pigment ink. The sentiment is from Crafters Companion. Its been all done on watercolour card. I added some yellow pearls in the centres. The distress ink colour is Scattered Straw.

Quick and Easy card class

Todays cards are from my quick and easy class from a while ago. First one uses the Dotty Flower stamp from Woodware. I masked off a circle and blended distress ink Dried Marigold through the middle. The stamp is inked with Black Archival and I stamped the leaves on some green card and then attached them back onto main stamped image. The sentiment comes with the stamp set, finished with some Black pearls.

Second card uses some lovely dies from Spellbinders. I die cut the separate pieces with different coloured card. The smaller one has been stamped with a block text stamp from Woodware . The sentiment is from Crafters Companion.

The last card has used a Honeydoo stamp with Creative Expressions cloud ink. The back panel has been masked off to created a straight edge and then cloud ink blended over it. The flowers have been stamped and then coloured with a smoothie using Lilac and Moss cloud ink. Sentiment is from Woodware.

Backgrounds

Todays post is about the backgrounds for cards. First card uses a Sue Wilson Butterflies striplet die, which has been cut out of white card and the 3 butterflies that come with the set cut in black. Then attached to a piece of double sided adhesive and then gold flake from Creative Expressions rubbed over the exposed sticky areas. Simply matted onto black and the sentiment from Crafters Companion

Second card uses the squishing technique of applying distress ink onto acetate and spraying with water before applying over an embossed image. Colours used are Dried Marigold, Preserved Raspberry, Tumbled Glass. The background stamp is the Honeycomb background from Phil Martin and embossed with Wow white embossing powder. The 3d butterfly is from X cut and the sentiment again from Crafters Companion.

The third card uses strips of card from a Tatty Teddy pad from Trimcraft to make a pattern.....great wait to use scraps. the coordinating Tatty Teddy stamp has been coloured with Spectrum Noir pens, Its then been cut out and attached to a circle die cut, the sentiment is from same set as previous cards.
