Altenew Magazine

Today's card uses the stamps, dies and stencil from the new Altenew Magazine. I used the stencil for the background, by blending some ink through one of the leaves and rotating it. I stamped and die cut three of the flowers. I added some of the papers from one of the stripes pad. Finished off with a sentiment strip.

Tatty Daisy

Happy Saturday, it's a bit warmer and sunnier out there now than it was first thing. Hope the weather is good where you are and you are staying safe in these difficult times. My card today uses the newish John Lockwood die called Tatty Daisy. I have had it awhile but not used it yet, so after much reminding ( thanks Gill) I used it to make this card. Nearly all the John Next Door dies I used before belonged to the shop so I used a MFT leaf die instead. The centres are Flower Soft, which I saw someone selling on facebook, you could use PVA drops or pearls instead. I made a frame using some stitched rectangle dies and backed with some wood effect paper. Finished off with a sentiment strip that was embossed with white embossing powder. The card blank is made from black card and its a tent fold.

Its Your Day

Happy Sunday, bit more foiling today. I have a bag of die cuts I have foiled so I pulled a few out to make this shaker card. I happen to have some similar coloured sequins, they are retired from Stampin Up. I used coloured card for a change to make the card base. The embossing folder is an old one, I dug out from my stash, by Spellbinders.

Altenew Layered Rose

Hi there, its definitely time to try and stay calm and keep on crafting.  It probably the only thing keeping me sane at the moment. So I am trying to blog more often to give you some card ideas for when you can sit down and have a play.

Today's card was a special one for my mums lady gardener. She obviously loves her flowers especially roses. So I dug this die set out that came with a magazine yonks ago. You can easily adapt it though using some other flower dies or stamps. The background uses the stencil from Altenew which I sponged through randomly with some distress ink. I added some more foliage from a Lady E die I have. The smaller leaves came with the flower die set in the magazine.

The 60 I cut several times to raise up, its much easier than trying to cut tiny foam pads and you can do it in white scraps you have and just do the top one in your chosen card. Its finished off with some Nuvo drops and these are from the new Vintage range and they tie in with the ink I used on the stencil. The sentiment is from a new set from Tailored Expressions , you get a large stamp full of sentiments for different occasions and then a large die that cut them all out in one pass.  So you can just put the others away until you need them. To be honest if you happy to cut the strips and tails yourself you dont need the die .
