Reinker technique

Happy Saturday, it's a gorgeous day here in Essex. Hopefully you will get a chance to sit in the garden this weekend . Today's card uses a technique with reinkers, I decided on two colours and you get better results if you use watercolour card. Place a few drops of ink on a glass mat or non stick mats and with a wide wet paint brush , pick up some of the ink and swipe up and down the watercolour card. Repeat with the next colour and if you want it lighter in colour you can a little water to the ink on the mat. I found it dried really quickly. If you dont have reinkers you could use watercolour paints. This card is completely flat besides the drops. The stamp set is the same one as I used in yesterday's post.

Wild Rose Anniversary card

Happy Friday, nearly the weekend and the weather's going to be fab. Today's card uses the Wild Rose stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh. I have used a background stamp, I have had for ages and not used...shock! It has been heat embossed with white embossing powder and then I have blended some ink over the top that coordinates with the alcohol pens I have used to colour the flowers.  Finished off with a sentiment stamp/die combo I found when I was doing out my craft cupboard last week that had fallen down the back of something. I has been stacked three times instead of using tiny foam pads and I used the Velvet ink from the red sunset collection to stamp the happy for a change from black.

Embossing a stencil

I brought this stencil this year and I have used it several ways. In this card I run it through my machine using the foam mat underneath to get an embossed effect. I then dropped the stencil back on and sponged some ink onto the berries. The trees are stamped in the same ink, onto a stitched square panel. I then stamped the sentiment strip and matted onto some linen effect mirror card.

Leaves and Berries stencil

I have been playing around with different techniques using stencils. I fell in love with this one from Pretty Pink Posh. The technique I used on this card is not quick but is worth the time spent. I worked my way across the stencil applying Distress Inks through the stencil, masking off areas as I went with post it notes. So for example when I was inking through the leaf part, I covered the surrounding berries so the colours did not blend together. I wanted to keep it simple, so I just cut the finished piece down to fit a large square card . I have noticed a new trend of stamping a sentiment onto vellum and the creating a frame around it. This way you can still see the stencil behind, through the vellum.I dug out a nesting labels die and I made a frame. To co-ordinate I inked it with same colour ink I used on berries. I added Wink of Stella to berries for a touch of sparkle.

Wild Roses

I decided to take part in a sketch challenge last night and this is my entry, you could do a scrapbook page or a card. I used Pretty Pink Posh Wild Roses stamp set. I love this set and its great for all sorts of colouring. This time I used a dauber and gently blended some Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry on the flowers and Twisted Citron on the leaves. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and is from the Say It In Style set. The square die is from Presscut. I finished off with some Kaisercraft Pink gems.

I'm having a day out tomorrow at Ally Pally. I have a little list , lets see what I come home with that's not on it lol !!

Have a great weekend.
