Pinkfresh Studio washi tape

An Anniversary card today using the Pink Fresh Studio Washi tape. This comes on a roll and it's about 5 1/2"  high, so much wider than usual washi tape. There are different colour tone frames on the roll, so I teamed some gold pearl cardstock with it and some dark reds. It's another card using the Sizzix Floral Layers die, this time though, all the layers have been cut in the same cardstock. I finished it off with thin strip sentiment and added some Nuvo drops to embellish.

Lisa Horton Postage Slim dies

Good moring, today I have the third card from a recent kit using the Sizzix Floral Layers die. This time I went with a landscape DL sized card. Slimline cards are really trendy now but the american slimline dies are not the same as our DL size. Lisa Horton has brought out a range of different edged DL slimline dies and this one is the Nested Postage set with apertures. For this card I just used the outside edge and the stitched inner one. I had some fabric looking card I brought at a show years ago, so I teamed that up with some Kraft card. Again I die cut the flowers in White card and inked them all in different shades of Pinks,Greens and yellows. Its finished off with a sentiment from Creative Expressions . I have another card I will be posting soon using the apertures, but I need to wait for the recipients to get it in the post before I blog it .

Sizzix Floral Layers

My card today is one I did for a kit this month. It uses the Sizzix Layered Floral die and it has been cut out using some of the card from the Crafters Companion 12x12 tonal pads. I die cut a stitched square die for the background and blended some ink across the top corner. I used a two part sentiment stamp set in the bottom corner and finished off with some clear Nuvo drops on the petals and leaves.

Altenew and Pink Fresh Studio collaboration Celebrate Us

Altenew have just collaborated with Pink Fresh Studio to celebrate the both of them reaching their 6th year in business. They have designed a range of stamps, dies, papers and embellishments called Celebrate Us. Today's card uses one of the Celebrate flower stamp and die. I have used Altenew inks to colour the flower. The background is one of Altenew big stamps called Faceted Stars. I stamped it with Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then run it through my die cutting machine with a stitched rectangle die from my stash. I took the lightest pink ink and blended part of the rectangle, to make the stamp design show through a little. My card blank is top folding and measures 3 7/8" x 5 3/4"  and I attached the panel with foam pads. The flower was then attached in the middle again with foam pads and I added a die cut and stamped sentiment.

Sympathy card

Today's card is one of those you dont want to make, unfortunately I lost my uncle last week , this is the card I sent to the family. I have the Rock collection of inks from Altenew so I went a few of those colours and the Floral Art stamp set from Altenew. I made the frame from two sizes of stitched rectangle dies. Whilst the stamps were out and all lined up I inked and die cut some more images and made a birthday card in a similar layout.

Fabulous Florets

Happy Sunday, hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend. Definitely not sitting outside weather, so I hope you are fitting in some crafting time. I have spent ages this week putting all my finshed cards with envelopes into cello bags and stamping sentiments inside. Taken me forever but its finally done, I need to at least do the sentiments inside as I make them. Today's card I made using some more of the washi tape roll I brought recently. This design of washi is just a geometric frame design and comes in a couple of colourways on the roll. I stuck the frame image onto some white card and using my Cricut spatula I pressed any air holes and creases out so its was nice and smooth. I picked out some matching inks from my Altenew collection and stamped the Fabulous Florets flower stamps and leaves which I finally received recently. This stamp set is from a Altenew collection a few months ago, mine just got held up with everything going on post wise. As the washi tape has a gold element to it I stamped and embossed my flowers and leaves outline stamps with gold embossing powder rather than black ink.  I used some matt gold cardstock for the layer behind and the sentiment strip. Finished off with some Nuvo drops.

Pink Fresh Studio Floral Elements

Nearing the end of another week and the weather is still gorgeous. I recently purchased a bundle of dies, stamps and washi tape from Hochanda by Pink Fresh Studio. If you haven't heard of them , they are an american company that sells cardmaking as well as scrapbooking products. I have mainly used their scrapbooking papers etc but I have always liked the look of their washi but it tends to sell out quickly when online shops over here get it in. So I grabbed a few items when it was on and it's finally came this week as its was on extended delivery. The dies and stamps coordinate but the dies can also be used on the washi tape, which I thought was a great idea. On the washi tape you get a selection of small flowers, a large wreath and a large floral image. Today's card uses the wreath element. I took a Lisa Horton die to make the square and then applied the washi tape wreath to some cardstock and used the matching dies to cut the outside and inside edge. I then took the inside die and cut that out of the square. Its easily done, just lightly mark with a pencil where the die sits in the middle of the wreath on the square, tape the die down and run through your machine. Match the wreath up with the hole you have cut with the inner die and glue down.  I added foam pads behind the square to create an aperture . I then worked out where I wanted to position the anniversary stamp and I stamped that first, then attached the square to the card blank. The "happy" die was glued on the edges that overlap the wreath, there is no way of putting foam pads under it , it's too fine. I did though run it through with some white card two more times and layered together to make it more stable. Finished off with some Nuvo drops as per usual for me nowadays.

Polka Dot Strip Glimmer Plate

Happy Bank Holiday, hope you all enjoying the lovely weather. My card today uses some more foiling plates from Spellbinders. I brought the Polka Dot stripe from the Yana Smakula collection and added some other plates from Spellbinders foiling range. I wanted to add some leaves but when I did this card, I didn't have anything suitable so I stuck some of the foil on double sided adhesive which I backed with some white card scraps from my box. The run them through the die cutting machine with a Sue Wilson leaf die I had in my stash. That way it all coordinates with my hot foiled pieces. I also used a plain circle die and added some foil between the die and some card to create the foiled ring. I kept the card a turquoise and copper combo. Finished off as usual with some Nuvo drops.

Spellbinders Glimer Plates

I spent an evening with my Spellbinders Glimmer machine recently. I tend to spend some time just foiling lots of different plates in various foils.  I die cut them out if they come with the additional dies and save them in a wallet to make into cards later. I also do some backgrounds and today's card uses a new plate called Geometric Florals. It comes with this geometric shape, some leaves and tiny flowers. For this card I just used the shape and some foiled elements I had already done weeks ago.

Birthday Wishes

Hope everyone is doing ok, looks like it's going to be another scorcher! I have been spending sometime in the evenings colouring. I have used this new stamp from Altenew before with watercolours, this time I used the Altenew alcohol pens. They also do striped paper pads and I used the one of the green sheets to match the pens. This is a big stamp so doesn't need much else besides a sentiment.

Fun Fold card no. 8

Happy Tuesday, another fun fold card today that's called an inner shadow box or tunnel card. I made it for my daughters friend, who has just had a baby. I have made this card before and followed the tutorial from Jennifer Mcguire, the link is here. Once you have got the concept of the card fold, you can easily adapt it to make it bigger or smaller. The elephant is a old stamp from Crafters Companion Humphrey' Corner collection. You could of course use anything to fit in the middle. This little elephant is my go to for baby cards and I have coloured the image with alcohol pens. I die cut a circle for the front and just stamped and coloured the elephant on part of the circle.  I then added a sentiment and instead of doing it on white card I used a coordinating pink plain card and stamped in black ink. I finished off with a stamped verse on the inside front cover, which is actually easier to do before you glue the shadow part of the card. I added a pink circle die cut behind the elephant to make it stand out abit more and my I added some foam pads behind the coloured image.

Watercolour card

Happy Sunday, hope you all having a lovely weekend. Today's card is made with the new Statement Flower stamp from Altenew. This time I have heat embossed it with clear powder after stamping it with a black pigment ink on watercolour card. I used the Altenew watercolour paints to colour and added a sentiment. I am still practicing with these paints, having previously used the Zig Pens to watercolour. This card is completely flat and measures 5 3/4 x 4 3/4" .

Fun Folds : Card no. 7

A version of stepper card today, but this time it has a support in the middle to help it stand up better. My card is a Limetree DL adaptable measuring 16 1/2" x 3 7/8". You could use a piece of A3 , Craft Uk that make the most popular card blank packs sell it, link in products used.

Its scored at: 1 5/8" , 3 1/4", 8 5/8" fold on the 8 5/8" score line and butt the fold up against the left hand side of your score board ( this is just so you can get the rest of the card on your board) carry on scoring at 5 3/8", 6 3/8" and 7 3/8".

Burnish all the remaining folds. The first two folds make the front stepper and the last three score lines make the support in the middle. There is a small tab to stick your tape or wet glue to the bottom of the front panel.

The paper mats are: for the front 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" and for the back 3 3/4" x 5 1/4"

The flower stamps and dies are from the new Altenew Magazine kit. In the kit you get a magazine, papers, a stencil, dies and stamps, for this card I used just the stamps and dies.

I used a Creative Expressions sentiment die , cut three times in black card and layered together. I added some gems as the little dots on top of the i's were so tiny. The papers are from one of the Altenew Stripe pads.

Statement Flower

Good Morning, hope you all had a lovely VE day yesterday. I'm having a break from fun fold cards for a little while. I have sent a few more different ones out to people, but with the post taking a lot longer at moment, I'm not sure if they have them yet. This week I brought one of the new Altenew stamps from their latest release. Its a large stamp and it's called Statement Flower. For this card I used my Zig watercolour pens on watercolour card. It's just been stamped with black pigment ink and definitely worth using a stamp positioner , so you can make sure you get an even stamped image. The background is the watercolour stripes stencil that I have gently blended ink through, but not all over. There is a die for this stamp, I dont have it, but it's easily cut out.  I have put foam pads on back and finished off with a sentiment.

Altenew Waterbrush stencil

Fun Folds: Card no.6

Today's card is very tall and thin, it fits a DL envelope. It's similar to yesterdays card , but this time the stopper is at the top and for a change I used a bow. I had a piece of card that I had foiled and I used that for the middle topper.

I used some Altenew stamps for the embellishments. The sentiment has also been foiled. My card blank measures 16 1/2" x 3 3/4" and is scored at 8 1/4" and 4 1/8" . If you dont have the Limetree adaptables you can use either some A3 card or you could do it in two pieces and add a tab to attach at bottom of the back. My middle piece is 5 7/8" x 2 3/8" you could make it slightly wider if you wanted. Mine just happens to be the size of my foil stamp. Again I just added a small foam pad under the bow to make the stopper.

Fun Folds: Card No. 5

An upside down "Z" card today, using my Orchid Expressions stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink. My cardstock size measures 11" x 4 1/4", scored along the long side at 5 1/2" and 8 1/4" fold as in photo.

The patterned paper sizes are :

5 1/4" x 4 1/8" for the back
2 5/8" x 4 1/8" for the bottom

The flap inside measures:

9" x 2 3/4" ( you can make this wider, I just did it to fit my stamped image) score at 4 1/2"
Mat of white card on front 4 1/4" x 2 5/8"
I stamped my sentiment before I attached it to back.
Stamp a circle sentiment and punch or die cut with circle dies. You could use some patterned paper or a flower to make this stopper. It doesn't have to be a certain size, you just need to remember to only add foam pads to the bottom of the circle.

When you ready to stick together only attach flap part on the back, the front opens up to reveal message. Make sure the foam pad part of the stopper just touches the bottom of the opening flap, then as the card stands it will still hold it in place. Again make sure you burnish score lines well , as this will help it stand up better.
