Old Nail Art :) (Picture Heavy)

I spent time tonight reading through my old blog posts from March and April this year. I always enjoy looking at past nail art, so I compiled a ton of photos from my old posts. I have not messed with nail art in ages. These manicures were all fun, but I have been really enjoying simple layering manis. Which one is your favorite?

Failed Layering: Sea Spray & Knotty

I really thought that China Glaze Sea Spray and China Glaze Knotty would make a cute layered combination. I think this looks pretty in some lights, but in others it looks like a dirty mess. Once again I liked both of these polishes better on their own before I layered them together.

Gold Flowers

For this cute manicure I used China Glaze Endurance as a base with gold stamping on top. For the stamping I used my Bundle Monster plates and Sally Hansen Chrome in White Gold. White Gold was great for stamping, but is almost nonexistent in stores. If you do not own White Gold a good substitute would be China Glaze Passion.

Knotty & Midnight Mission

For this layered manicure I used China Glaze Midnight Mission as a base, with one coat of China Glaze Knotty on top. I will have to try Knotty with a few other polishes before I add it to my list of favorite top coats. This was pretty, but I liked both of these polishes better on their own. You can see Midnight Mission on its own here.

Gold Stamping

This is an older manicure I did with China Glaze Strawberry Fields. Strawberry Fields is pretty on its own, but it is nothing eye catching so I always like to add something to it. I used China Glaze Passion for the stamping. The result is subtle, but still fun to stare at. I think this manicure is a keeper :)

Shimmering Stripes

This is my striped manicure from a while back. You can see the original post here. Like most of my manicures recently I thought it needed a little something extra so I added China Glaze White Cap. I think it is gorgeous:)

Lighthouse Over Black

If you were curious to see China Glaze Lighthouse over black I tried it out. I am not a fan at all of this combination, but I rarely like dark polishes. I still love Lighthouse though, it looks great over my large collection of pink polishes, and yellow of course.

Last day for my giveaway :)

Pink & Gold

I wanted to spruce up my China Glaze Strawberry Fields manicure so I added tape and China Glaze Magical on top. The results were actually pretty sloppy. I think this would look pretty if all of the tape pieces had been uniform. I will definitely try the hot pink and gold combination again.. perhaps with water marbling.

Challenge Tag

I was tagged by Kristin from the Manicure Monkey for this challenge..

Here are the Rules:

1. Go to your lacquer stash
2. CLOSE your eyes and pull 3 random items - JUST 3
3. Create a mani from them
4. Post your mani when you post the tag
5. Tag 3 bloggers

My boyfriend chose these three colors :-/

I decided to try water marbling but it was a mess trying to clean up the silver and dark purple from my fingers.

If you have not already been tagged.. The three bloggers I tag are

Valentine Kisses
My Lucid Bubble
You Nailed It

Goodluck ladies, hopefully you have better luck than I did :)

Marbled Stamping

I was in a hurry to do a quick manicure before going out to dinner. I used Rimmel Black Satin as a base and China Glaze Passion (from the Romantique collection) on top. Because I was in a hurry my Bundle Monster plate was damp with nail polish remover from cleaning it. The result was a blurry mess of stamping that ended up looking pretty cool.

Zoya Kiki & Magical Stripes

I wanted to show a Zoya polish since their polish exchange promotion is going on right now. For this manicure I used China Glaze Magical as a base. I then used thin strips of tape and painted Zoya Kiki on top. Kiki is one of my favorite Zoya polishes and I think it looks even prettier with the China Glaze Magical stripes.

Black & Gold

I rarely wear black nail polish on its own unless I stamp on top. I tried some simple dots today with L.A. Colors nail art pens. This manicure was super easy to do and was relatively easy to duplicate on both hands. If you own nail dotting tools it would look even better.

China Glaze: Lighthouse

I was not sure if I would like Lighthouse but I ended up being pretty impressed. It is a bright, yellow gold with flecks of metallic gold sparkle. I used Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow as a base coat.

Has anyone tried using Lighthouse has a top coat for colors other than yellow?

Gold Sparkles

Golden Ticket is one of my Sally Hansen favorites. It is a gorgeous polish packed with gold glitter. I love the brush on the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes. It is a wide flat brush that makes application a breeze. Golden Ticket is opaque in three coats. For this mani I used two coats of China Glaze Peachy Keen under one coat of Golden Ticket.

Here are a few images of Peachy Keen on its own.

I like the look of the gold and the orange. I think it would also look pretty layered over black or pink.
