One Stitch at a Time Challenge 126

This week at One Stitch at a Time, it's that easiest of all challenges: Anything Goes!

Our sponsors this week are
and
where you can win this month's collaboration

This week, I got to work with an image from the selection at Lil Diva called Woodland Scene which is available at the Stitchy Bear shop and as part of the collection above.

The image is gorgeous, and doesn't need a lot of work - in fact I could have left it as I printed it, but I thought I'd try out something a little different. I dabbed some Distress Ink onto the image using an Ink Duster brush. That gives quite a subtle effect. I started with Mustard Seed in the centre, shading to Wild Honey and finishing with a bit of Fired Brick towards the outside. The paper is from Papermania, and I finished with some pretty metallic gold ribbon and some sticky gems which I coloured with Promarker.

Hope you can join us this week.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 100

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we've got two sponsors for our 'anything goes' challenge.
who are offering the winner three Promarkers, and
who are offering all the Stitchy Bear images used by the design team this week! So, if you want to see what's included, check out the design team projects for this week.

And don't forget, if you're not lucky enough to win it, you can get all those images and papers free when you spend $7 at the Stitchy Bear shop.

My image this week is from Lil Diva, and it's called Fun in the Jungle and it's available here.

Now, my DT team mate, Hazel, chose this image for both of us, and generally, I think we've got pretty similar taste in images. But, I had some concerns about using this one, as it looked most suitable for a child's card, until I gave it some thought, and so I added a sentiment.
And suddenly, I had a much more general image - perfect for all sorts of cards. That's one of the things I love about digital stamps - it's so easy to add something like that. Use any fonts and sizes you want, and never be constrained by the bits of rubber you happen to own. So, I was all set to make a fairly general card with the image, but then my daughter saw it, and she told me that my younger son (who's twenty later this month) would love it. I was confused for a moment, but then she reminded me that he and she get a bit silly whenever he's home from university. When they were much younger, they used to video various soft toys in amazing adventures, and as a result, all the toys had names. While it's been many years since they videoed anything, they still refer to the various toys, and they all live in my daughter's bedroom. So, I asked her to go and get a few of the favourites, and took a photo. A few moments in Photoshop Elements and I had a second sentiment added.
And so the card became an easel-style card.
closed and
open!

The paper is from Papermania's Capsule collection, and the die is from Spellbinders.

I hope you can join us this week!

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 90

This week, I got to work with an image from Lil Diva called Skating Snowman Family and it's available at the Stitchy shop. Ths sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

Isn't that a cute image? I coloured it with Promarkers and added a little sparkle with a Sakura Stardust pen. I framed the image in red card cut with my Fleur de Lis nestibility, and used some paper from my stash. The snowflakes were cut using a Cuttlebug die, and they've also got some Stardust pen added.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 86

The theme this week at One Stitch at a Time, is Christmas! I don't know about you, but I make a lot of Christmas cards, so I try to start early in the year, but I'm still making some at the last minute. So, why don't you get out your Christmassy stash and add another card or two to your collection? Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps, and there's a wonderful selection of options there for a lucky winner. So, why not give it a go?

This week, I got to work with a gorgeous image from Lil Diva called 'Winterville'.
It's such a pretty image, I didn't do a lot to it at all! I did sepia-tone it in Photoshop Elements because it's got such an old-fashioned look to it, and then I added a little Glamour Dust to the snow. The backing paper is from Dovecraft, and the ribbon and mirriboard are from my stash.

I hope you can join us!

Digi Doodle Shop's Best where anything goes,
