Sepia Colouring Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

I'm sharing a card today I have made especially for the launch on Hochanda of my Language off flowers stamp collection and I thought i would share this sepia coloured daisy panel which, would you believe, is all coloured with shades of grey Graphmaster alcohol pens.

I will be sharing the technique on my Hochanda shows next week however the colours used are:
warm greys 0.5, 1 & 2 all totally the same but it gives a sepia or peach shade.

I stamped one of the corners from the Michaelmas daisy clear stamp set four times in an inverted square design as shown using London fog momento ink.  I then shaded the flowers and foliage using the greys and cut the piece out using the Sue Wilson Noble double pierced circles.  I mounted this over a circle cut with the same set in tan foundation card.  I then mounted this over a piece of stunning Kraft and Gold patterned paper form the brand new A6 DCWV kraft and gold paperstack.

Finally I made up the card as shown using the noble double pierced squares die for the pin picked layer along with layers of tan, kraft and coconut white foundation card.  I then added the sentiment, from the same set, cut this with the pierced dies and mounted this with a twist of ribbon on the bottom right.

Day 2 shows...

Happy Saturday,

Another couple of the samples from todays shows on Hochanda Today I am sharing cards made with the Apron die and the Easter basket, this time an actual easter card!

This first card is made as a card blank using the die to make the blank.  Next I cut the apron again in hessian fabric from the DCWV everyday wreath 12x12 paper pad I have on the show.  I then shaded around the the apron using a smoothie and archival jet black ink to add some age to the gardening apron.

I then  sued the dies from the window box die to make the flowers gathered in the pockets of the apron.  I finally used some black twine as the loop and ties for the apron and a perfect card for a gardener made!

Next is the easter basket where I have again used just the front die to make a flat basket on the front.  This is another demo on the show so tune in to see how this was made heres a close up of the basket!

Don't forget to join me, if you can, today on Hochanda at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and final call at 7pm!

Midnight in steel...

Happy Tuesday,

Another card made using the Pacific ocean collection today and a few more shots of my Christmas Decorations at the bottom.

I cut the inner die form the lotus striplet into a piece of midnight pearl foundations card and mounted it onto steel pearl foundation card.

I then cut dies 1, 2 and 3 in steel and midnight card and backed them with the alternate colour.  I mounted them over a set of the double stitched flags cut again in alternate colours.

Where the frames meet a new diamond pattern shows which gives the perfect frame for the flags alternating colours.  I added a crystal flower in the centre and a few l;ayers of midnight and steel.

Finally a few more pictures of my chroistm,as decorations.  I have to admit I really like the wreath and the ivy over the Stags Head ( a precut stack from DCWV)

shows continue...

Happy Tuesday,

I hope all of you enjoyed the launch of the festive dies ODS last night.  I haver to admit that working with christmas dies is my favourite time of the year!

Another demo form todays shows remember Im back on at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm and will hopefully be working through loads of different ideas and techniques today!

Todays card is a change for me a clean and simple card however there is a twist as this is a light up card using some of the items I have on the DCWV shows tomorrow ( yes its a Hochanda week for me as Im back tomorrow and thursday!)

This is a hard card to explain so tune in or watch on catch up to see exactly how it was made however Ill try to give you a run down.

I stared by cutting the festive shadow box die into white pearl card.  Next I repeated the process with several layers of funky foam to give me the dimension. Next I layered these together and placed the lights inside before adding a layer of vellum, another layer of foam and a final layer of the die cut.

I then cut some of the smaller festive shapes in the set and adhered these to the front in the windows.

I added a spare of roses made with the gilding polish and my Christmas Rose stamps ( I will be demoing this technique on the shows as well)

A really different card for me but I have to admit it is fun!

Brown and Gold...

Happy Thursday,

As I'm sat here typing my blog post at home wendy ( who's just opened her second bottle of white zinfandel telling me its very weak compared to the Spanish Wines ) is taking pictures of me writing this.  I'm told they will appear on Facebook so look out for pics off me writing this Lol!

Wendy helped choose todays card as she loved the textures and different finishes on this one.  This was made as a sample for the shows I did on Hochanda last weekend.  I simply LOVE the papers own the DCWV everyday wreaths stack and the great thing is they are not die cut in the pad its all full sheets meaning that you can use them for anything!

I started by selecting the different papers from the stack I chose the dotted gold foil, the glitter in gold and the hessian papers.  Next I simply layers the card with black and vintage gold card then cut the different papers into flags.  I layered the different sized flag on different papers and added some stitch edged ribbon.

I made three roses, using one of the other papers from the stack, using the Spellbinders spiral blossom three die by cutting and rolling the die cuts tightly.

I made up the card as shown,
