Art Journaling.. No' 2...

... another journal spread with touches of neon paint (and why not!)...

I wanted to create a spread using one of my new word stamps (JOFY68) and one of the reasons I chose these particular words is that they can be used at other times than christmas (except for 'christmas' obviously!)

This spread is a bit 'motivational' -  and I like how all the different fonts mix together..

Paint splatters, die cutting, flowers (JOFY62) and some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers make for a nice less-is more-spread - well, I say less is more but the background is made up of layers of writing (painted over), stenciling, a splattering of stamping, painting around the edges and then the main images....

Thanks for stopping by...

#365Challenge.... August

aaaah yes.. August... back when it was lovely, hot and sunny - and I created these pages for my Flow365 project ...

I'm not going to beat around the bush - I a 'little' behind schedule - but I WILL finish this project!! lol   so without further waffle.. I give you ...AUGUST!!

I really like the layering on this page - a painted background with layers of tape and papers sewn on, finished with a die-cut and self-adhesive letters.

I have a  sheet of this background paper for aaaaages - paper created by layering up tissue dress making patterns and instructions.. seemed appropriate to sew elements on to this page..

Stencilling white paint onto kraft card- what's not to like! lol

Pink and green - one of my favourite colour schemes... here I've cut up gelli printed flowers to mix with die cut flowers.. and more self-adhesive letters (I seem to have quite a lot of those to use up..)

Another lovely gelli print from a stack that needs using - anyone who gelli prints will have a stack (probably an ever increasing stack! lol) of these to use up!

The dates in the page corners have been created using a circle doodle from JOFY36 and the numbers are 'garamouche' by Purple Onion Designs...

There it is - August!! coming soon - but probably not too soon - will be September and October.

#365Challenge.... July!

I know I shouldn't have 'favourites' in this 365Challenge but I really like July's book.... its one of the books where I planned it beforehand:
*  I sat and stamped all the date tags (front and back because I didn't know which way they would lay so both sides needed to be printed).
*  I laid out the pages so they ran in order:  a 'signature' of kraft,+blue+white+blue+kraft; followed by a 'signature' of white+kraft+blue+kraft+white and these repeated until the month was filled...
*  printed out the questions ready for answering (or not as the case may be! lol)

these little things help give the process focus and almost helped me finish quicker...
(nb sometimes I write the answer on the back of the page.. a sort of 'note to self' )

The stamps I've used this month for date numbers are 'Lizziebelle' from Purple Onion Designs. They have all sorts of interesting alphabets.

(question: what can you live without?)

(aaaah, Mr Garton!  He taught us well and made us laugh at the same time... great teacher! )

Sometimes when I'm editing and adding the photos of pages I have to go back and see what the question was to the answer given on the page... 27 July was one such page! lol  The question was 'Do you hold onto something you should have let go of a long time ago?' ... I obviously couldn't think of something specific but this phrase I'd cut from a book seemed a great response! lol

One of the things I like most about these book is that they don't close - and bits stick out of the edges of the pages, artfully scruffy....

Woohoo!! I am past the halfway mark!!  (doing a happy dance!!)

153 days to go!!   (does it seem less if I say 5 months?!)
