A painty inky stampy day...
... on the other side of the desk...
On Sunday I went to a class with the uber-talented Kate Crane, as part of Its Crafting Time Mixed Media weekend.
It was a lot of fun!! Creating art journaling pages with paints, inks, stencils, and stamps of course! It was fun to play and learn, and be reminded of things - like background stamps! I'm going to rummage through my stamp stash to rediscover those!

Bloom and Grow...
... is a phrase I like, and often use it on projects - it suits my JOFY flower designs. I used it this past weekend in a workshop for Its Crafting Time.. They have lovely new venue for their creative weekends and pop-up shop - & its a perfect venue for workshops.
I taught 2 classes - cards in the morning (more about those tomorrow) - where we dipped our toes into christmas using the latest JOFY stamps that were released on Saturday.. and in the afternoon we created a hanging triptych...
I LOVE this project!! (its so pretty! lol)
Usually, I take a few photos of the group holding up their lovely projects but this time I forgot - sorry everyone - but I did take some 'work-in-progress' shots - people busy creating the triptychs in lovely colour variations:
I enjoy seeing the different colour variations people create of the same project - a really useful group experience.
l to r: Cathy (different coloured background - created a sort of night/dusk effect), Tanya (lovely bright red flowers (Prawn and London Bus, complete with caterpillar and butterfly) & Cheryl (coming out of her comfort zone and embracing yellow - nicely done!)
It was a day spent laughing, painting, stamping... bit more painting.. is there a nicer way to spend a day?? I don't think so :o)
Thanks to everyone who came along - and to Ann & Cheryl for the yummy snacks (ladies, you are not helping my waistline! lol)

A little bit festive and little bit more floral...
I'm teaching 2 workshops at Harston Village Hall, Cambs for Its Crafting Time, on Saturday (12 September 2012) - here's a sneakpeek of the afternoon class project.
The morning class is card making - 2 generic cards and then 2 using the latest JOFY hohoho stamps sets (released on the same day - so its the first class to use them - exciting!!).
In the afternoon we're making a hanging triptych (nb colours can be changed to personal taste).
I.m really looking forward to these workshops - I hope you can join us!

What weekends are made for...
... an evening with friends - one of those evenings where you laugh so much your stomach muscles ache, your throat hurts and in the end you have no make-up left on because you've cried with laughter..
We started off at the Blackfriar pub - I've always wanted to go in here to see the interior - & it didn't disappoint - I wish I could've taken photos. I hadn't noticed until I looked at this photo how all the building around it have gone... but its still standing! Fantastic.
I hadn't seen several of the friends in a long time - too long - missed them - great evening.
... a fun day teaching a workshop - at Its Crafting Time - where between us we built a terrace of houses - Balamory has nothing compared to these lovely JOFY houses:
... a day in the garden - tidying up, buying and planting new plants - LOVE lupins - mini towers of colour... this is my current favourite part of the garden:
... time spent with Family - nephews birthday - I made a card for him - boys/mens cards are hard aren't they? (or is that just me!) (must challenge myself) - this one was created thanks in part to the PaperArtsy brayer masterboard video that was on the blog earlier this month.
... all that, and there's still today! Gotta love a Bank Holiday weekend!
Hope yours is good...

and for my last workshop of the year I taught the class at The Artistic Stamper - again a fun class-
I love the red versions of this project- very festive and dramatic.. Jennie and Valerie (2nd from left back row) added black swirls to their triptychs another striking variation
.. and what do you think - have I found my perfect festive hat??:

If you fancy a day of card making using the stamps then come along to the Craft Barn on 10 November - call the shop for more details.

Sunday I ran a workshop at Its Crafting Time - 'Sun, Sea & Sand'.. a fun day - nice to see everyone.. and one of the lovely ladies bought some VERY yummy bakes! too yummy! Thanks for that! (yum yum yum)
Lots of lovely beach huts were painted by everyone (and 2 of the ladies gave the sand on their project a 'pebble' effect because that's what their local beach has, instead of sand - love the effect they created):
Thanks to everyone for coming along!
What better way is there to spend a weekend!

A lovely time was had.....
..... at Crafting Time on Sunday by me while teaching my 'Grow' canvas workshop to 13 ladies willing to get inky painty.
Using JOFY stamps, Fresco Finish paints, Grunge Paste and stencils they created lovely canvasses (20x20cm) - here are a couple of snapshots, - sorry there aren't more but my other photo's weren't up to much - not in focus, bad lighting - not my best photography day.
Liz did a beautiful job of painting the flower heads - they look so round and juicy!
I think this is Jackie's - the 'mermaid' Fresco Finish was an unusual choice for the petals on this flower and really pop off the page - love it!
I'm looking forward to going back to Crafting Time soon. Keep an eye on my Workshop/Classes page for dates.

Fun filled week...
.... last week was a weird and wonderful selection of this'n'that...
tuesday - a normal day in the land of sparkly things...
.... and a quick trip over to PaperArtsy HQ.... I spy with my little eye something beginning with B H....
wednesday .... a lovely day over at Tewin teaching a couple of workshops for Card Inspirations - really nice to see some familiar faces (and of course new ones too)
thursday ...another 'quick' trip to a&e - its an on-going issue - all under control now :o)
... back home to find a pigeon has flown down our lounge chimney and can't get out - its not a big chimney (and pigeons are quite big) so we're not sure quite how it managed it - but it did.....
friday... 0700hrs operation free pigeon! it took both me and hubby to extract our feathered friend from the chimney - it had settled (probably exhausted) on the mesh at the bottom of the chimney - our chimney hasn't ever been a wood/coal burning fire one so the mess was minimal (LOTS of lost feathers) and the pigeon, I can happily report, was fine - we (lol, ahem hubby) put it on the garden table and it flew off straight away - a happy ending. We were quite proud of our rescue effort - while in our pj's at 7am!!
saturday... a this'n'that day
sunday.. a lovely day teaching my 'Grow' canvas workshop over at Crafting Time.... more about that in a later post...
It was a good week!
Something else exciting happened too but that's also for another post....
I spy with my little eye something beginning with BB...
Enjoy the sunshine...
