April Ornament

Here is the little cutie for April!! And he is the last Snowman in the series.  The next series in the book is a "Noah's ark" theme,  so, looking forward to those. I have got a small start on the First one in the series, but it was such small progress, I decided I'll wait to share it next month.

So, still staying on track with these! Even if I get very little stitching done overall,if I am still able to get these little ornaments done (one each month), I'm happy!

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last months postings. It means so much to me that you take time to stop in and read and say hello. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have been able to find more time for stitching lately, and that makes me so happy! I am really starting to see some significant progress on my larger pieces, especially, so that makes me feel accomplished.

Well, next up will be an update on autumn Peace. Thank you for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! See yah next time!

Ornament finish and progress!

Well! I was able to finish my first ornie of the year for January! He looks like this:

I think he came out super cute!

Next I started this one:
It's a snowman holding a sign saying "I love Snowmen" I was able to get most of the sign done, but still have a long ways to go! So! even though I only finished 1 ornie so far, I'm on track on my goal to finish 1 a month, and I'm hoping to be able to keep up with this trend.

Progress on Stitching as of late has been a lot less than normal, due to the fact that hubby is now home!! so, we've been spending time together as a family, and such, which totally cuts into the stitching, but that's alright...stitching will always be there, but I got 1/2 a year of time with him to make up for!

Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Thank you all for the lovely kind comments!
See yah next time!

Ornaments! Two finishes!!

I finished snowmen #'s 5 and 6. I've got a tiny start on #7, but didn't think I had enough progress to warrant a photo yet.

I've been busy so my stitch bug has taken flight, and not a whole lot of stitching has happened, but I took about a month away from this blog, so in a months time I guess more got done than I thought.

Progress Photo and a Finish Friday!

I did it! I finally finished Snowman #5! I am sure you are all probably sick and tired of looking at my lil snowy guys here, sorry about that! The good news is, I am now onto the last and final one of the series of six so you will soon no longer be bored by having to see their cheery lil' faces here. LOL! I do love and appreciate all the wonderful comments I have recieved as I have worked through these lil guys. They encouraged me greatly to push forward.

So here are my photos:

Snowman #5 finished!
Here is progress on #6

And here is the whole collection thus far!

There is one odd ball there in the center done on dark blue Aida, I was going to originally do them on dark blue and light blue fabrics, but ran out and wasn't patient enough to wait for any to be ordered, so just decided to stitch them on white and stitch in the background colors.

These lil' guys kept me busy for the better part of 2008. I have enjoyed stitching them, although at times stitching in the background colors got a bit tedious and monotonous, but they are really cute, and I think they will look cute next Christmas adorning my new home in Japan.

However the ending of a project gets me thinking of what I want to work on next...do I start a new project or do I pull out a WIP? Hmmm...I will have to think on that! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

A finish!!!!

I finished snowman #4 today!!! At 10 this morning. I am so happy to have one more down, two more to go. Let me tell you, all that background blue? Ugh! Although easy enough to do, was boring me to tears! But! I was able to push through it and get it finished!!!

And now an update on #5:

Not much progress here, but a little. And now that I finished #4, I get to start #6!!! The last one in the series! Now to figure out what I want to do with them...do I get some cute wintery fabrics and make them into a quilt, or try to make them into ornaments...but I think they may be too big for tree ornies...in the book the patterns are in, they have them all strung together, kinda like a garland, and it's hanging over a fireplace, I think...Or kinda like they are mittens and stockings hung over the fire to dry...that would be cute...hmmm...this is usually the hardest part for me...finishing. I can stitch until my face turns blue, pushing towards that finishing goal, and then I heave a great sigh of relief as my needle finishes that last stitch...then dread! Oh no! NOW WHAT?! I have to figure out WHAT to do with this beautiful piece of stitching. There is someone out here in blog land who scrapbooks her stitching, I think that is a great idea, actually! Maybe that is what I should do!!! Although I like the idea of turning these blocks into a quilt. Hmmm...I think I am gonna have to use some time to ponder this one...any ideas out there? I'm open to suggestions!!!

Oh yes, and in my next post I have an assignment/vote for you all, as I have big plans to start CDC by Ink Circles...I haven't even bought the pattern yet, but I have some floss colors picked out and would like some thoughts on that, but we'll save that for my next post!

Happy Stitching! And Happy New Year if I don't get back here before then! LOL. may 2009 be a frogless year for us all! "Pack your bags, Froggies! You aren't wanted here in stitching blogger land!!!"

Progress Photo Friday!

This is going to be a heavy photo post, because I have been stitching my little fingers off and trying to stay with a good rotation...I did mess up a bit, but for the most part I stuck with it! I work on a snowman and 1 large project every day. I am working on 4 large projects, and two snowmen, so I work on three of my large projects twice a week, and one of them only gets one day. And my "main snowman piece" gets stitched 4 days a week and the other only 3. Right now, Jack, or the first photo you see here is my "main man" lol.

This is the Abbey. I have been working on this one for a few years now. I love it, but it seems to keep getting lost in piles of lost and forgotten WIP's, I was hoping to have this one finished by my birthday LAST year...to say I'm a bit behind is an understatement. But! I am on the second page of this 9 pager, so...there HAS been progress!
This is Jim...He is snowman #5 in my 6 snowman series. He is my non-focus snowman piece, he only gets stitched on 3 days instead of 4.
(Jack and Jim...Hmmm...nope, I'm not thinking of Happy hour! LOL!)

This is Howling at the Moon, I am getting close to a finish on the first page! This, too is a 9 pager! It is a fairly new project, I don't remember when I started it. Right now it looks like a bunch of grey crayons threw up! But it will get better!

And here is CH4TH. I think I got quite a little bit done on it the one day I worked on it this week,I think my other rotation day on this one is tomorrow.
And wa-la! that is it! That was a review of my week in stitching!
I have not posted my large #4 project, as that day is today and I have not had it out yet, but I will share that...maybe this weekend!
On another note, I started my new job and I like it so far. But I barely started it last night, so not much to judge by!
Alright, I am off to check e-mails, and read some blogs and get that stitching mojo-enabling thing going on that happens when I read blogs, and then I'm settling in for a nice day of stitching!
Thanks for reading! And for all the comments on my "Big news" I am starting to get excited! I am just one of those people who have apprehensions when it comes to new things, new experiences...weird, I know...but that's me! lol
Have a great Weekend!

Another blah day...

Don't have a lot to say, this week has just been a huge crap pile, and seems to just keep getting worse. But I have been using my stitching to sustain me and try to keep focused on something...it has been my saving grace all week, that and Grey's Anatomy, and my books. I'm hanging onto a thread here...literally it feels like with all the stitching I have been doing. lol.

Better photos and progress.

Well, I thought I'd try to take better photos than the last post...those were horrible. But to tell you the truth, I'm not too sure these ones are gonna be all that better. Oh well. At least you'll be able to see my progress. I have really been stitching away on these little guys!!! I am pretty sure that at this rate I will see a finish on all 6 by Christmas.
Here is Snowman #3

Here is Snowman #4...I really got a lot of progress in on this lil' guy!

And here is the beginning start of #5!! just a blob now, that is a bit of his scarf (the red) and his little sweater. So, just wanted to get another post in, plus I have really been trying to be more active in the blogging community lately, reading more blogs and commenting and blogging here. I even paid a visit to my stitchingblogger Yahoo group last night. =O I know, don't faint!
I used to be so into blogs, and then that sorta dwindled, but I'm making a comeback!!! Woo hoo!
Oh yeah and last night, I was looking at the sample photo of the lil snowmen in the book the patterns come from, and I realized the mittens and stockings themselves are backstitched!! Ok, don't ask me why I didn't think they would be, but for some reason that totally didn't register in my noggin, so now I have to go back and back stitch the first three. Oh boy! Oh well, it is pretty easy, just an outline, won't even need the pattern for that.
Ok, off to make some more progress on Snowman #4...I think I shall name him Jack. Sure, why not?

Progress Photo Sunday.

Ok, I know it's supposed to be Progress Photo Friday, but oh well. At least I have photos! Which is a milestone for me lately!!! I don't know why I have been being so lazy when it comes to blogging anymore? Hopefully this will change now that I have decided to cut social/networking sites out of my internet diet...well cutting back anyway. I don't know why I get so stuck on them, but I do, that is about to change!!!

so, as I stated in my last post I was just about finished with Snowman #3 and had started #4. and here are my progress photos, sorry they are sorta washed out and blurry. It is not yet full light here and I couldn't get the camera to do what I wanted.

Snowman #3:

Snowman #4:
See? I DO stitch!! And I am being better about blog reading and have left many comments on alot of blogs!! I am really enjoying seeing what is out there!!! I am hoping to have a finish on Snowman #4 by next weekend. And I am thinking I will start Snowman #5 sometime today. This way I am working on two at a time and hopefully that will help speed the process along...not that I want to SPEED it along, per se, as much as I would just like to see these lil' guys finished by Christmas!
I am off to get some more work into Snowman #4. Thank you all for reading!

Photos finally!

I finished him!!!! Yippee for me!!! I did actually finish him by my dead line, on Sunday, I have just been lazy and not posting here. I have been more into reading lately than stitching. I have done SOME stitching though.

I must admit I didn't finish page 1 of Howling at the moon by the 10th as I'd hoped, but there is some progress, so that is good. As for The fruit of prayer sampler, I haven't even laid eyes on the thing in awhile. I don't even know where it is! So I better get a move on it if I plan on finishing it by the 20th, although I doubt that will truly happen. But you never know!

I have however started the next snowman in my 6 piece series. And have gotten pretty far. I have been stitching while listening to a book by Janet Evanovich. "Metro Girl" It's pretty good. I have recently invested in a few more audio books to listen to while stitching, that way I can do both at the same time, sorta. I don't consider listening to an audio book "reading" but ::shrug::.

So, here is my photo of the next Snowman:

Poor headless guy! lol! Although I think this one is a girl. She has heart shaped buttons on! It looks like a blob right now, but hopefully that will be changing soon. All that red you see is the scarf, if you can't tell!

and here is my progress on Howling at the Moon. So, I didn't make it to finish page 1, but I'm kinda close.

This is what the pattern looks like, so you can see that I really don't have that much left to do on this page! With all the color changes on this one is does take awhile, but I love it!

Well I hope you are all having a lovely week so far. I am doing well. I have to take Freedom to the Vet today, poor girl. it's just for her yearly check up and shots though, nothing major. She hates going though. I think I will share a photo of my pup, she is part German Shepherd part something unidentified! She has beautiful coloring though. She's my baby!

Mr. Snowman

Ok, I know I haven't posted in forever, there was a reason for that tho, and it was because I had no way to share photos, my hubby took our digi cam with him on deloyment, and my scanner broke, however, my wonderful hubby realizing what "dire straights" I was in without a way to post my wonderful stitching online, ordered me a new one!!! So, here is Mr. Snowman. To tell you the truth I am sorta disappointed that he isn't finished yet, but I have been working on something else. Plus getting things finished up with school, and reading, I have been very busy! I will share more photos later, for now I gotta run, but wanted to drop in and say hi to all and share Mr. Snowman! Next time I will share what other project I have been working on! Thanks for reading!

Just sailin' along...

Wow! this one is coming along quick! I am really enjoying it alot, I worked on it alot yesterday before work, and a bit after work, which I left work 3 hours early because I smashed my hand and it started bleeding and made a big mess, I thought after I got the bleeding under control I could go back to work, but they sent me home. So I returned home really early, and got started on this little guy, agan, then a friend called and we started talking then I got on line and spent the rest of the afternoon/evening playing around on the computer! But this morning I woke up and got my coffee and set down with this, and this is how far I've gotten, I still have some time until I have to go to work today so I think I will continue on with him until it is time to get ready for work. I think this lil guy is so cute! Thank you all for your lovely comments!!!

Progress!

Wow! this is my progress on the newest snowman, the mitten just since yesterday. I started it right after I posted here yesterday, I think I have come quite aways already, so far this one is stitching up pretty quickly! I am off count with it, but I am working with it I didn't feel like frogging it all out. So, anyway, he is coming along, maybe he'll be finished before I thought he would. The last one took three months practically! It must have been the fabric! lol!!! Well I am off to get ready for work and then off to work! I will probably stitch more on this when I get home, I have a short day today. Thank goodness. More stitching time for me!

Two new finishes!!!

Well happy Windsday, as Winnie the Pooh would say!! it is so blustery and windy here it is driving my allergies crazy and ugh! I hate the wind!
anyway, I had two new finishes to share, so here they are! My snowman, finally done!!! I plan on starting the next one in this "series" it is a mitten and has a snowman on it as well. The background is a light blue color, though. It is really adorable, the only thing is, with this little guy with the dark blue back ground I had the navy blue fabric to stitch him on, where as I don't have the light blue for the next one, so the entire background for it will be stitched in. They are charted to have the background color stitched in but I cheated with this one, and used the dark blue fabbie since I had it. So the next one will probably take me a long while to finish to put in all that background color! yikes!

And here is my finished letter C for my Erica Micheals freebie mini samplers. I totally changed up the colors on this one, because I am not using the called for threads on these, i am substituting with DMC, so I am sorta doing my own thing. plus this one had little flags stitched in on the castle, but I ommitted them.
So, now it onto letter D for this series. I have also been working a bit on The Abbey, but not enough to share a progress photo yet. So, maybe in my next post.
I hope you all have a very stitchy week/weekend, and thank you for all the lovely comments! I love them. I am trying ot get around to your blogs and leave notes here and there, it is so hard to find the time, I am sorry! I probably have over 900 feeds right now in my google reader. But I will get there, I promise!! I usually just read the posts and move on, but I do try to stop in and say hi, and oooh and aaaah over your work!!!

My 400th post!!!

Wow! it doesn't seem possible!! I'm already on my 400th post! That's alot of writing! and stitching! lol! Well, I have been working on mr. Snowman, still. I think he should be finished soon, I have just about finished his backstitching and the fluff at the top is just about half way done. That white stuff is killing me!!! I try to work on it while watching TV, but then I just set it back down and zone in on my show, instead of stitching too. It is really bad! Maybe I should stitch without the TV on! I would probably get more done. LOL! So, here is a scan of my meager progress.

Today I am out sick from work, I have a sore throat and my ears hurt, and my nose is running, I feel achey, but I am going to try to get some more progress in on this little guy! Unless I decided to pick up something else. I have had the itch to pick up "The Abbey" lately, so we shall see. Of course I still want to get to work on letter D of the sampler freebies. Wow! I cannot believe the month is more than half over and I have hardly done a thing! (Stitching wise!) I really need to pick it up!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Progress!

And you get to see it! Hello! Well, today is day two of our deployment, my DH left yesterday! And amazingly enough I am not torn up, I cried a little at the Airport when I hugged him good bye, then I broke down for about 5 minutes when I returned from the airport and then I got ready for work and on with life I went. And I have felt fine ever since! I'm sure it will hit me here and there every so often as the months wear on, but for now I'm good!
So, anyway, I thought I would share my progress on Mr. Snowman! I just have to fill in all that white up top and then do all the backstitch which you can see I've already started, and then he will be finished. I hope to have him done by the end of this week. Then I can focus on my letter C sampler, and get that finished up so I can move on to letter D!!! I also really want to try and get an entire page of the Abbey finished up this month! As well as moving onto the next snowman in this series. So there is LOTS to do!

Here's Mr. Snowman! He is really comin' along, I think if I continue to work on him everyday I should get him done by Sunday night before bed, what do you think? I'm SOOOO close! Well, with that said I am off to make more progress on him, and maybe work on letter C! Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Some WIP's to share

I have been really lazy when it comes to blogs, not leaving comments when I read others, and of course blogging here.
So, I am trying to be better about that!

I thought I would share a few photos of the two main projects I have been putting most my time into lately, My snowman, and mini sampler alphabet letter C. The snowman still has quite a ways to go until a finish, but letter C is almost finished, just have to finish the castle, then it is onto letter D!

I have actually made a few goals concerning my stitching for the year. I have decided to

1) finish two of the alphabet samplers a month
2) Finish one stocking/mitten a month
3) finish 1 page of the Abbey a month

Let me explain the stocking/mittens. The snowman piece I am working on is a tiny little stocking, and with it is 5 other pieces with cute little snowmen on them as well, 3 are mittens 3 are stockings I want to finish the entire set of 6, by finishing one a month. So, we shall see if that actually happens, but that is my goal.

Also I think I may be stretching it a bit by adding one page of The Abbey a month, but hey a girl can dream, right? It will at least help keep me focused and continuing with the stitching, I hope!

Here is mr. snowman, he is starting to look a bit cozier with his little sweater on, although it has holes in it! I have some fill in to do! But i think he is coming along nicely. For such a small little chump, he is sure taking a long time. I'm thinking that dark blue fabric may be slowing me down, if that makes any sence! I hate working on dark fabbies, it is hard to see the holes to put the needle through, and wih my Christmas tree up, it cuts back on my lighting, but that should be remedied today, as I am taking that stupid thing down today, then I shall sit nicely and comfortably in my easy chair and stitch the day away.

i made some changes to the little sampler, changed a bunch of the colors because I think the original wasn't done on white fabric, but mine is, so all the little C's were to be done in white but they wouldn't show up well on mine, if at all, so I thought I'd make them in varying colors of the ocean, blues and greens, I like how it is coming out. I should see a finish on that one very soon, today maybe even!

I hope you all have a very stitchy weekend!

Long, rambly post!

Well, it is now almost a whole new year...only 3 more days until 2007 is a gone thing. I really didn't do so well on most of my stitching goals. I didn't get any big finishes done, although I got lots of small ones finished. I finished all 12 of the Erica Micheal's freebies for the year. Plus some of the other smallish freebies she has...the alphabet sampler minis...I have finished letters A and B. No big finishes though. How disappointing. And to think that for most the year I wasn't working. Even though I started school in the Summer, I still had half a year to stitch, although I had lots of other goals as well, such as my 50 book reading goal for the year. I just finished reading #35, and started #36. So, I didn't reach that goal either, but I got sorta close.

I think part of my problem is my addiction to the computer. I spend WAY too much time on here, playing SIMS, and surfing the web, reading blogs, spending time on Myspace.com...things like that. I think I am going to have to do something about that next year, maybe then I will get more stitching done. Oh well, it's all been fun, so why care? Although now looking back, I wished I had spent more time with needle and thread. Oh well.

I do have a finish to share...the last of the Erica Micheal's freebies for the year. I was able to finish it last night while watching one of the DVD seasons that hubby got me for Christmas, because of another gift my hubby got me...my white thread that I needed! He got me 50 new skeins of floss!!! And! he stuffed my stocking with them...but he wrapped them!!! there were 25 individual wrapped things of thread. well, like there were two to a package... unwrapping them was a pain, and he sat and thought it was hilariously funny! It really sorta was! So, I got floss, but he said I had to work for them....funny funny guy!

So, I have to share with you my finish, and show you my progress on my little snowman mini stocking. ornie.

Now I just have to finish out what I want to do with the quilt I want to make all these into.

next up is my snowman...
I got his little face in almost, just have to finish up his cap and scarf and sweater, and the reast of the stitching on the stocking itself. so, that is what I have been up to. not too much, and i am hoping that next year will produce much more stitching from this end, but we shall see.
I had a great Christmas, along with floss, I told hubby I wanted him to get me things that will keep me occupied while he's away for the year. So, he got me some of my favorite TV DVD series, and some jigsaw puzzles, and a bunch of new SIMS games. So, I think I will be kept happily busy. He refuses to buy me any new books or stitching stash, besides the floss, because I have so much already.
My parents sent a huge box of goodies too, so I made out pretty good!
And things with work are slowing way down...all week I have had short 5 hour shifts, so that allows for more relaxing, but hubby is home this week, so we have been spending time together. He goes back to work on Monday. And we only have 13 more nights to throw the route...thank goodness. Then he leaves for a week to go visit his dad who is leaving to move to japan the middle of Jan, which I can't go with him, because of work, which is fine with me. Then he comes home for a few more weeks and leaves for four weeks for training, then he comes home for two or three weeks then leaves for 6 month deployment.
I just can't wait for the route to be done and over with! I am sick of getting up int he middle of the night and throwing papers int he freezing cold, then having to work in the day, although I think it may take my body a bit to adjust to the new sleeping all night thing again, as I find that even when hubby goes and throws the route all by himself because I have to work I still wake up at 2 am without an alarm. So the first week without the route, I may have to take Tylenol PM or something to help me sleep through the night, and get me back on track with an all night sleeping pattern.
Well, that is about it here, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! sorry this is sort of a rambling post, but had a lot to share!

Happy Saturday...er Sunday!

It feels like a Saturday to me as today is the first of two days off in a row from work for me! I am happy to report that I have completed the 2007 Fall semester!!! I am done! Finals are finished, papers and assignments are all written and turned in, all there is now is to await grades! ::biting nails:: But I am not too worried about it, I feel like I did well, despite the end of the semester being so compacted and hurried with life's other little oddities, but it is finished now, and onto Christmas!!! And stitching!

Ok, during winter when I think of a color that describes this season I think white, what about you? Well, I am currently in the middle of two stitching projects that require this particular color...alot of it! And what do you know? But that I have run completely out!!!! So, I need to stock back up on it, which is weird to me, because I see white and black as two basic colors you should always have on hand, and I have run out of white, HOW DID that happen?! ::shaking head:: oh well, and I am not sure that I want to run right out in the holiday rush to acquire one skein of white, or a few to have on hand, so I shall wait. Hubby keeps asking me for a list of DMC's I need so I will put that on the top in BIG bold letters! So he knows to get plenty, and maybe I will be able to finish these two projects before the first of the year, or!!! I can dip into a kitted project and pull white out of one I don't plan on starting for awhile. I might just do that!

And now for some pictures! Here is my December Freebie by Erica Micheals. as you can see all i have left is white to finish and alas cannot, because of my no white onhand predicament, the outlining of the buildings I added as I didn't think the white stood out enough on the fabric, so I added that so you could actually see the sillhouette of the buildings.

And next up is my little snowman stocking/ornament

This is not a very good picture, sorry, but you can see how much I have done and how much I have left to do. I am not enjoying this piece as much as I thought I would, for such a small project, it sure has a ton of color changes, for the detail and shading. And I'm sure that when it's finished and the backstitching is in, it will look wonderful, right now though, it looks a mess. Probably because he's missing his face! Oh well, maybe today I will have to pop in a DVD and watch something Christmas-y and stitch away on it until he looks much cuter! So between school and work (both jobs) and life, not much stitching has gone on here, but I try to do just a little bit at least once a day, usually before I go to work at the store, as it calms me down and ready to face the mob! Especially this time of the year! Good grief! But now with school out of the way I anticipate alot more stitching. I do see a light at the end of the "going crazy" tunnel now, After Christmas my hours at the store will slow way down, and I will be getting rid of the route in less than 25 days, and then hubby will be leaving for his deployment in less than 2 months, and I am not taking "in classroom" classes next semester just online courses, and 1 less class than last semester so I think things will calm down, they already are with no school right now.
Well I think this post is nice and long enough so I shall sign out and go crawl in the Christmas tree, or behind it, I guess, and see if I can't make this snowman look a bit cuter!

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Well, it's been awhile since I last posted, mostly because not much stitching has been done at all here! It is coming up the end of the semester...crunch time!!! So, with trying to get things done for the end I have been busy with schoolwork and not much else! but!!! It is the Thanksgiving holiday weekend...so, I'm throwing it to the wind (and let me tell you with this Texas wind, it is LONG gone! lol!) and I shall sit and stitch and read to my happy heart's content!

The weather is just perfect!!! Yesterday it was in the 80's. This morning when I went to get the papers, it was still nice out, drove the convertible with the top down, was fine. Came back to the house, rolled the papers, woke hubby to go with me to throw them, and we were still nice and comfortable, with the top down, Hubby had JUST gotten done stating something to the fact that it was still nice out, because we have been expecting a cold front to come through for the weekend, and how it had not arrived yet, no sooner did the words leave his mouth, and There was a gust of wind and our cold front had arrived, just like that (Snapping fingers here.) It was SOOOO wierd! I mean, we were just going along all comfy no wind, the air wasn't cold, just comfortable and in ONE second, there was a gust of cold air, and the cold front was there.

I have been looking forward to this weekend for about a week, they kept predicting this cold front to hit us for the holiday weekend, and now it's here. You'd have thought I was a kid, this morning I was squealing in happiness driving down the road to the store to pick up last minute odds and ends for Thanksgiving. It was overcast, and windy and cold! Now the sun is out but it is still pretty brisk out there. Perfect fireplace weather for the holiday!!!! ::sigh:: We are even expecting snow maybe on Sunday!

Anyway, now ontot he good stuff...stitching! Thanks for listening to me ramble on about the weather. I can't help myself, the Texas summer heat is finally gone!!! And winter is here! The holidays can officially begin!

So, even though I have not been stitching terribly much due to the onslaught of homework and papers and studying I have had to do in prep for the end of the semester, I have put a little bit of progress on my tiny stocking ornament!
I am doing this one on 18 count navy blue aida. Pattern called for the background color (navy blue) to be stitched in, on a white fabric, but why bother if you can cheat? LOL! I am enjoying this, even though I have not had much of a chance to really get into it. Just a bit here and there, because of school. but I think it is going to be really cute when it's done. I am hoping that maybe I can finish it this weekend, while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I am so excited to watch that!! We had not had Television for the last two years, because we didn't see the need, as we would pay for something that we hardly use, but this year we have dish network, and I am watching the parade!!!! It's traditional holiday kickoff, man!!! Once Santa Clause rolls through at the end, that's it! There's no turning back, the holidays are here! Bring on the turkeys and the christmas trees and the santas and the lights, and the festivities, and go crazy for a month, and then make promises to change yourself that you never live up to on the first of the next year-ta da! the end!!! LOL!

I'm really psyched about the holidays this year, can you tell?
