Sea of Roses is......Finished!!!

Sea of Roses
Heaven and Earth Designs
stitched with 2 strands of DMC
Full crosses on 18 count Aida
Started January 20th, 2014, finished December 8th, 2016
Finished size: 8X10

My biggest goal this year was to finish this project....And!! I did it!!!
I was so happy to get it done.

So, I had made this my focus piece for most the year, so I could get it done this year. Now I am thinking I will bring Day Surrendering to Night back into my rotation, and try to get it done up soon-ish. So, now my focus piece will be Autumn Peace, since it's a gift for my mom, and I would like to give it to her for her birthday in April of 2018, my secondary piece will be DS2N, Then I will sprinkle my Christmas smalls in here and there, like I do, to break up the tediousness of full coverage stitching.

So, you will start seeing a lot more of Autumn Peace and Day Surrendering to night. I would like to finish DS2N in 2017, but I'm not counting on it, so if it doesn't happen, I won't be too disappointed. But, you never know what might happen!

Well, I'm off to go visit my family for Christmas. I am really excited about that! I am going to schedule a post to go up on the 30th, though so you will get to see what I've been working on, and also probably do an end of the year wrap up as well.

I hope all my readers have an amazing Christmas, and enjoy these last couple days of 2016! Thank you all for reading and for your lovely comments. I cherish them so much!

                       Merry Christmas!!

Sea of Roses- she's got a face!

So! First off this morning, can I just say: Did anyone see that Stanford VS. UCLA game last night?! I'm all about UCLA, and I'm still seething this morning!! We had it.... And then, well... We just... Didn't. UCLA was up 13-9, there was 2 1/2 minutes left on the clock, and Stanford showed up and final score was 22-13, Stanford's win!!!
Sigh...
Ok! But enough about that ! You're here for stitching!
So this is how she looked last time:

And I am really excited to show this picture  because for the first time in a long time I actually unfolded the entire piece, and this is how she looks:

Her entire face is completely finished!! Isn't she gorgeous?! I am SO close to finishing her!!  I'm guessing (hoping) that I can get her finished by my birthday. (Nov.10). That would be an amazing birthday gift to myself! So keep your fingers crossed for me!
My mom will be coming out to spend 2 weeks with my daughter and I. She arrives on Thursday evening. So not sure how much stitching or blog posting will get done while she's here. But I'll do what I can to keep yah updated.
Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Thank you for reading!!

SOR a tiny bit of progress

The last time I posted:

Now:

I have it all rolled up but you can see the page break at 4 and 5 and the TINY little bit I've stitched in the upper left hand corner. That's just about 200 stitches!  So not a lot, I felt like I wanted to post today since I haven't for so long. I just feel like I didn't have enough progress to share.
I thought maybe my stitchy bug was gonna play nice again, as between the first 2 days of July I stitched for almost 5 hours, but then the third day came and I only got half an hour in, and yesterday I never pulled anything out. Which, it being a holiday, is not surprising, but still...
I hope all my American readers had a great Independence Day weekend. Ours was a lot of fun!
I will be back in 5 days to share progress on my ornaments.
Thank you all for reading! See yah soon!

SOR progress

As you know my mom was here visiting the last half of February so not a lot of stitching happened during those last 2 weeks, but I was able to get a little bit done.
Last time I posted:

Today:

Well it seems I got a lot more done than I thought! I love when that happens!!  So I'm happy with my progress!

Next time I will share my Christmas Snowman, he's coming along, but very slowly. Maybe I can get some good work in on him this week. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll see yah next time!

A new routine!

So! I was getting bored stitching and sharing the same project over and over, so I've changed up my rotation again. I will now be working on 4 projects.
I usually stitch about 2 hours a day, so my rotation looks like this:
Monday-Friday- hour 1: DS2N
Monday,Wednesday,Friday Hour 2: Sea of Roses
Tuesday and Thursday Hour 2: Christmas Ornaments
Sat &Sun Flower Bride

So my Primary piece is DS2N it will get 5 hours a week, my 2nd is Sea of Roses which will get 3 hours and my Christmas Ornaments will get 2 hours.  My weekend stitchy is usually not set in stone, as sometimes I don't get as much done with the family at home and we're busy running errands and stuff so if/when I get stitchy time in on the weekends I'll pick up Flower Bride.

I just needed to mix it up a little bit.
And when I post I'll be sharing a different project each time. Today I thought I'd share Sea of Roses.
The last time I showed it here:

Today after working on it a few hours :

Not a whole lot done, but a little. This is about 2 hours worth.  There will be a lot more progress the next time you see it.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day. And I'll see you in about 5 days with an update on Christmas Ornaments.
Happy Stitching!

Late progress! Oops

Last time I posted:

Today:

So I've got a pretty good start in on page 4. That red petal you see at the top of the page took FOREVER! Confetti hell!! Lol, so I kept switching between the confetti and the larger areas of skin, so I was able to get quite a bit done. I'm proud of my progress.
This one will be set aside now until February. As today we are driving to Florida (13.5 hours each way) to visit family. And I will be taking my ornaments with me to work on. Smalls work better for me when traveling.
And when I get back it will be the New year and I'll start my new(ish) rotation for the year. Which will start out with "Day surrendering to Night". Oh how I've missed working on that one!
I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas. I did take a couple days off posting here to enjoy the holiday with my family. We had a wonderful couple of days. My daughter was properly spoiled!
As was I!  My next update will be a year end wrap up and a 2016 plans kind of post. So anyway, I gotta go pack my suitcase and get ready to head out here soon!
Thank you for reading! Happy New year!!!

Woo hoo!

Page 2 is FINISHED!!!
Now I'm going to move down and start page 4. I'm just going to keep working on this piece throughout the month.
The next time it comes up in my rotation is in mid February, but that's around my daughters birthday and my mom will be here for 2 weeks so I'm not anticipating a whole lot of stitching time then, so thought I'd keep working on it now, to make up for then. (If that makes sense)
Hope you have a great weekend!

Sea of Roses progress!

Last time I posted:
Today:

So I've decided I'm going to do all 4 of the full pages of this together (1,2,4,5) so when I'm done with this page (p 2) I will move down and work on 4. Then do 5, then work the remaining 5 partial pages (3.6,7,8,&9) together, because all the combined stitches of those 5 pages doesn't even equal half the number of stitches in one of the full pages. In fact page 9 only has 32 stitches in it!  So that's my ideas going forth with this one, and if I'm able to keep with the schedule I've set out with my rotation that I've worked out for next year I should finish this one mid to late September, which I'm super excited about!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a great holiday season!

Sea of Roses Progress!

Last time I posted:

Today:

It's slow, but I don't mind too much. I just want to be done with this page by the end of the month/year. So I'm taking it slow, also because of all the Holiday stuff things are, of course, busy. So if it takes me the entire month to finish this, That's fine with me!
So! Is anyone else out there looking through their projects and making plans and lists and goals for next year? I know I am!! But I'll share those later on, closer to the end of the month!
I hope you're all enjoying a fun weekend, maybe getting some of that Christmas crazy out of the way a little early. I know I am, so I can sit back drink egg nog lattes and just relax and enjoy the holiday, without having to run around frantically at the last minute. I'm almost done! I'm hoping to have it all done by the 10th. Wish me luck!
And as always, thankyou so much for stopping by!

Sea of Roses

Last time I worked on it:(October 6)
After working on it the past 9 days:

Not a whole lot of progress, as on the 10th I didn't pick it up, it was my birthday and I was busy with other things. On the 11th I also didn't pick it up as it was Veteran's Day and my hubby being one, we were busy with the holiday.
Then! This past weekend I picked up supplies to start making these:

So! I would like to make 20 Christmas cards this year. These are the first three, so I've got quite a ways to go yet. But they are So much fun to make! I am enjoying the process of coming up with designs and assembling them. And I am able to incorporate my stitching as well. So these next couple weeks are gonna be a load of fun!! However I think my stitching might suffer because of this... But oh well. It's that time of year.... I'll jump back into it full swing again come the first of the year.

Thank you all for reading, I hope you have a wonderful week and I'll be back in a few days with progress on Christmas Ornaments (the next project in my rotation)

And MORE progress.....

I am disappointed that I didn't make my deadline of finishing this page by today, but what can you do? My stitch you mojo took a vacation!

So! Onto the next!
I will be pulling my daughters cat piece out and hoping to finish it this month. We'll see how that goes!!
See yah in 5 days!

I don't think I'm gonna make it!

Last time I posted:

Today:

It's still super slow going! I really do not see a finish on this page in 5 days!!
I've had a bit of a stitching slump as of late. I have to MAKE myself pick it up and work on it. So I haven't been putting as much time in as I'd like and should in order to reach my goal.
So now I'm just not sure if I want to continue on and just try to finish this page as soon as possible or to move on in my rotation.
I'm not sure... Something to ponder on!

Well happy October! Thank you for reading!

Stuck in confettiville

Last time:

Today:

So.... The title says it all! Again it's kind of slow going as I keep hitting patches of intense confetti....I love the result and detail of all that confetti, but getting through it is just tedious! I keep having to remind myself that the end result will be well worth it.
However! This confetti is really slowing me down and I don't know that I'll be able to make my projected day of completion on this page.  I've only got 10 days, and I really don't see that happening. So we shall see!!

Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a great weekend!

Until next time: happy stitching!

Sea of Roses...progress!

Last time I posted:
(Wow! What a craptastic photo! Sorry!)

Today:

This go around I was able to finish another column and get a good start on the next one. (3 of 7) this section seems to have a lot less confetti.
Sorry again for yet ANOTHER craptastic photo... It's dreary and looking like rain here this evening so the lighting isn't too good!
Hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful week! And I'll see yah again in 5 days! Thank you for reading!

Sea of Roses update

Last time I posted:

Today:

I lost my stitchy mojo a few days between my last post and today, so it's been slow, but I was able to finish Row 2, and start row 3. But then changed my mind and have now decided to work in columns instead of rows, so I'm working my way down column 1.

Hope you are all having a great week! See yah next time!

Sea of Roses page 2 Start

Well I got a pretty good start on page 2. That's the whole top row, and the first about 300 stitches in the second row. So there are a lot of huge chunks of the same colors in this area so it's stitching up pretty quickly! That is ALOT of pink! There are about 10 different shades in that area. I can't wait to get down a bit lower where there are more of the darker shades.
I am really enjoying this! I can't believe this is 6 days of stitching. It's stitching up SO fast!
Here it is in its entirety so far:
It's coming along, I just hope I can keep up at this speed.

Oh! And I have a new toy! Some of you who are my Facebook friends have probably already seen this, but I'm super excited, so want to share again:

I finally got an SUV!! It's time! We've always just had 2 door cars, and now Alyssa is getting so big and we are traveling so much it just seemed like it was time. I'm still getting used to driving such a big car!  I'm used to driving a Ford Mustang so it's quite a difference in size!! But it's fun and VERY comfortable!
So that's my exciting news.
I hope you're all having a great weekend and getting lots of stitching done, and I'll see yah again in about 5 days!
Thank you for reading!

My first HAED page finish!! Woohoo!!

You can see her face coming into play now. There was so much confetti in the lower left, as well as the start of her lips and eye. But her cheek was made up of large areas of the same color. Well, only 8 more pages to go... But not really as 5 of those pages are only partial pages. So I have 3 more Whole pages and then 5 very small partial pages to finish. I really love watching the picture emerge within the midst of stitch after stitch after stitch.

Well next I will be pulling out Mystic Dragon and finishing page 1 of it. We will see how long it takes. I really don't enjoy stitching that one. If I find that I just hate working on it I will set it aside and pull out something else. But we will see how the next few days go with Dragon.
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my posts. It is really encouraging!  See yah in a few days!
