Well, this past weekend was nuts! On Friday we were on Tornado watch, Saturday dawned bright,clear and beautfiul, and Sunday also. I guess it is that time of year.



Well, I have been really bad about posting lately. I always mean to, but then I just read other's blogs and log out. Anyway, I do have some progress photos, of Dolphins and Teddies.









I don't even know if you can tell from the last post where I worked on this, I did some fill in here and there, tried to finish up the big pink ballon and fill in some of the patches. Like the yellow patch with the blue and orange triangles I finished filling in the orange, really not a lot just a little bit here and a little bit there. I want to try to get to the point here soon where I can seriously start backstitching the top part of the boarder and maybe start backstitch on the balloons. So hopefully next time I share a photo, there will be some serious backstitching done. We shall see. Next is Dolphins:



I have put some of the darker grey into the dolphin on top and the one on the left side. You'd think that with the big dolphin to the right being so close to being done that I'd spend all my time on it, but no, I don't know why, but I moved on to the others. I am itching to start working in some of the blues of the water, but I get going on the dolphins and I keep thinking, so close to seeing a whole dolphin, just keep stitching! So, I do, and they are getting there, again slow but steady. I really need to put these two away and pull out Snow Valley Express, as my dad's birthday is a month and a half away...whatyou wanna bet it isn't finished in time?

Stitching Away in Grey

Well, I have been stitching...and here is a photo of Dolphin's Paradise. This is a project I started in my college days, right aroung the time I started Holiday airing. I have almost one whole dolphin finished! I think this project is coming along pretty quickly, just get tired of working with all those greys!

I have not worked on Patchwork Teddies for a while, at least this whole week, but I didn't share a progress photo of it either the last time. I completely finished the upper right hand corner patch and started some of the backstitching! I have been a very lazy blogger lately. I haven't wanted to post photos, or even write at all. And I have no excuse, except for my reading, which is "getting in the way" of my stitching time LOL.

Yesterday, the weather was so awesome, that I actually laid out and suntanned for a bit, got a tiny bit of a sunburn. Today it is sorta sunny but it is really windy, so no tanning for me. Plus, today is Weds, and that means rolling newspaper day. I have them done and am just now relaxing for a bit. I have really been int he mood to do some cookie baking, I have been wanting cookies. and i think I am gonna go hog wild tomororw and make batches of chocolate chip, oatmeal, and peanut butter, maybe even peanut butter/oatmeal/ chocolate chip...and maybe sugar cookies too. I make cookies but they don't stick around for long, and this time I want to have plenty for me to meet my cookie cravings. Pretty soon that will really happen, as we ordered a case (Yes, that is 12 boxes!) of girl scout cookies from my nieces. My mouth has been watering for those thin mints, and shortbread cookies, and peanut butter sandwich cookies so I thought if I made some cookies to tide me over until they get here then I will be alright. I couldn't justify going out and BUYING them from the store, since we have already invested over 40$ in cookies already, but as long as I already have the ingredients here, why not? Well, I am off to relax for a bit before DH comes home and we have to go out and throw all these stinkin' papers to unsuspecting victims who think we are littering on their lawns!

Hello! still here!

Well, lately I have still just been stuck on my Dolphins. here is a picture of my progress. I haven't been up to stitching much lately, I don't know why. I think I have been so involved and busy with the insurance stuff with my car that I just tend to shut down after dealing with them, simply because the situation makes me so mad. But I have made the decision that I will not dwell on that junk here anymore! You have logged in to read about my stitching and not my life problems, so here is a picture of dolphins. the one dolphin on the right is really coming along, just some fill in and he's done! and you can see the tail on the left of the other one. This project is stitching up pretty quickly, now that i am devoting some true time to it. I really should be working on Snow Valley Express. I will get to it soon, I had planned on picking it up again this weekend. I work tomorrow but not until 4 in the evening so I will have all day to get some stitching done. The same with today I don't go in until 1 int he afternoon,and as it is just a quarter to 8 in the morning that leaves me with 4 and a half hours to get some stitching in. Well, I am going to get off this computer and do some stitching. I am enjoying everyone's blogs! So many pretties out there!

Finally! A picture!

And here is the scan I took last night, so you can see there has been a little bit of progress, mostly fill in on the dolphin and the blue water above the dolphin. Over to the left you will see a streak of dark gray going down at a slant, that! is my froggy area, I have stitched it in twice now and it's just not working! I'm going to have to try another tactic to get it to look right, so wish me luck! I am thinking that is what I will put most of energies on today, I don't go into work until 2 this afternoon, so that gives me about 4 and a half hours to figure out something, I already have an idea in mind. So, we shall see how it goes. However, even though I am anxious to get this all sorted out I am also wanting to work an another WIP. Although I am not sure which one. We shall see. I have many things I want to do today, stitch, read, maybe do some writing. well, gotta get going. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I work all weekend but I will have Monday and Tuesday off, and I don't go into work until 3:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday, so I almost have a three day "weekend", except that my "weekend" doesn't start until Monday. Dolphin Domain

Well, this is what I worked on yesterday! mostly just more grey! All that light grey that is in the face area of the larger dolphin here, that is pretty much it. Plus a little bit in the dolphin up at the top. I think I only got about 1 hour in on this one so not much got done, but a little can go a long way if I keep on working on it, right? well, today is Sunday and it is Nov. Quilt day. We shall see how much more backstitch I can get in today before and after work, as I don't go into work for another 4 hours and get home fairly early this evening (6:30, as apposed to 9) And I have Tomorrow and Tuesday off. And tomorrow is also Nov. Quilt day as well, so I am hoping to get lots done, but it always seems that whenever I say that nothing gets done.

I have actually been really tired lately, sleeping in later than normal for me then wanting to take naps and go to bed early, maybe I need to do more exercise. Well, I guess I will go do that right now!

...With my rotation, that is! I worked on Dolphin's Domain yesterday a little bit before having to go into work, here is a picture.

It is hard to tell from this photo, but I put just a bit of Light grey into the dolphins, there is probably less than 100 stitches in there, but! I did work on it, in so doing, I kept with my rotation! Yay for me! I have to work this entire holiday weekend! I cannot wait for tomorrow to be over! Then I have two days off, then work 5 hours Thursday and off Friday. Yesterday I worked 7 hours, today I work 8 hours, tomorrow I work 8 hours. Although I guess you could say I volunteered to work a full 8 hours tomorrow anyway, the store is only open until 6 because of the holiday, well for some reason the electronic printout of the schedule had the normal hours for my schedule, meaning they scheduled me until 9, so I was scheduled to work 1:30-9, but if I did go in at 1:30, I would only get 5 hours because the store really closes at 6, (clean up and getting all the stragglers out takes us about half an hour) So, I asked my manager if I could come in at 10:30 and then I would be getting a full eight hours, which was what I was scheduled for. So, I guess it is partly my fault, but oh well. I am looking forward to my days off this week, though, oh the bliss of three days off! ::sigh::

Last night, my friend Dianna and I went to a bar and watch a guitarrist that she is a groupie of, that was alright. It was weird though, because last night I was super tired after work and I really didn't want to go, plus I'd hurt my back at work, and I am a major intravert, so after I have been in a store around what seemed like millions of people all day, the last thing I want to do is go to a dumb smokey bar and listent o music that is being played WAY too loud for the tiny space it is being played in. So, I really didn't enjoy myself as much as I could have! But oh well. I would have much rather been at home stitching or sleeping. I am dreading today at work, because although I was dead tired last night, whenI got home I couldn't go to sleep until after 2 in the morning, and for some DUMB reason I was awake this morning at 5:30! So, I CANNOT wiat for today to be over! Actually I cannot wait for tomorrow to be over! I just want the next 48 hours to fly by! Sometimes I really hate my job!

Photos finally!

O.k. I have decided it is time for some pictures. So many of you have been posting such nice pictures of all the things you are working on and I don't, or haven't been. and I love it when people post pictures, so I am sure you all would like to see some, right? So, this is November Quilt, with some of the back stitching on it. I started the wagon,a nd the pumpkins on the ground there, I don't know if you can even tell.

something occured to me this morning...I never showed you my finished Easter Bell Pull....there's a reason why....I didn't finish it yet! Because I didn't get it done by Easter, I just sort of set it aside a forgot about it. I think that should be my goal for now, is to finish the bell pull this month, shouldn't be too hard, don't have much left to do on it. I know it is WAY past Easter, but there is always next year to display it.
This picture is of Dolphins Domain. I love the colors in this one. You can see the start of dolphin #1 here, just the outline. then in the upper left side there is a couple dark blotches, that is another dolphin, and then there is the outline of the third one and you can see where the fin will go, directly under dolphin #1's tail but I haven't started any stitching on it yet, you can just see where he is supposed to go. This one is fun, I love the colors in this one, there are alot of blended threads though, and alot of the background colors are all half stitches so they go quick. I pulled this one out from my stash drawer, just for a change in scenery. I love the fall colors in November Quilt, but in the middle of spring, they tend to seem very drab and dark. So, I pulled this one out just for a change, and also because I was starting to get the starters bug, and I really should not start another project, I have way too many WIP's and so I thought I might as well work on one that hasn't seen the light of day in a long time, just for a change. well, since not much stitching has been getting done on my end, I don't have anything else to show. I am really going to try to get more stitching in. You all inspire me, when I look at your blogs and they have all these finishes and progress pictures. Well, hope you enjoyed my photo update.
