The Abbey and Dare to Dream

I don't know what it is, but I guess with my not blogging here for so long, and only posting a mere 110 times this year I have really wanted to write here. Plus having a scanner that works really helps! I can show photos of my progress.

Having said that here are some more progress photos: of The Abbey and Dare to Dream:

This is Dare to Dream a few months ago on the 3rd of August:

This is Progress done since then:

I have filled in the wolf a bit more, his hind leg/hip area, and the border on thr right side is a bit more filled in. So there is the tiniest bit you can see there. I know I spent some time doing some frogging, and recounting and what not, because of a boo boo I'd made I had to do some modifications.Anyway, so that is that one.

and here is The Abbey on March 11th (the last time I shared progress on this one):

And here is the Abby now:
I am especially proud of this one...because it is a 9 page pattern, the largest project I have ever taken on and I have finished page 1 and have moved onto page 2, (well really finished page 5 of the pattern and have started page 4.) So, this is the center of the project. I was afraid I'd make a counting error if I tried to start on page one, so I did the sensible thing and started in the middle. Anyway, I think it is really looking great! I can't wait to get the back stitch in, then it will really look awesome!

Well, I am not sure how much stitching will be done today as my mom is coming out to visit tomorrow and I have a million things to do to get ready for her arrival, and that also means I may not get on here very often this week because I will be busy entertaining, but I do hope to stitch a little bit today and a little while she is here.
But if I do get any stitching in today it will probably be on Snow Valley Express! My father's gift that I have been working on FOREVER!!! I really want to get it done, and i think i have worked out a sensible rotation so I can. We shall see. Happy Monday!

Progress photo

Well here is an update on Dare to Dream. I spent much of yesterday late afternoon and evening working on this while watching episode after episode of CSI...ones I'd already seen so I didn't have to pay close attention!

After a few hours of workin gon this, though I got bored so pulled out Dolphin Domain, and put a few stitches in it too, however not quite enough to warrant a photo for right now. I think I will work on that one this week, and share a photo on Friday. I am thinking one week rotation should work well for me.I'm gonna try it. so, every monday I will switch out my focus piece. And of course I will be workin gon my monthly freebies as well. I still have not kitted up August or got any kind of start on it yet, though I have the pattern all ready to go, just got to pull threads and get to work on it, maybe today.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week!

July Freebie...

Well, here is my July Freebie photo that I was chatting about. I have yet to start August. Today has been a really crappy day...which I figured it should be better, seeing as how I am out of school now, but no...got in a fight with DH, and had a panic attack, and paid bills (who likes to do that?!) The one good thing is that I get to buy stash this weekend! Hubby says he's gonna take me to Micheals, but I am gonna ask him to buy me a pattern off the internet instead. There is one at Herschners called "Howling at the Moon" it's really pretty, of a couple of wolves. So, I am going to ask for that instead of going to Micheals, where besides floss, there is a slim chance that I will find anything that truly calls for my attention. Anyway, speaking of projects with Wolves in them...Here is "Dare to Dream," which I have not been able to put down for most of the week!

Sorry the bottom part is a bit wrinkled. I am really enjoying this one... at first it was hard when I picked it up this time, because I had to frog out some area as I had made a bad boo boo on the last time I worked on it, which I think was the cause of my putting it down in the first place. But once I got it sorted out, I have been working on it steadily.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I don't know how much stitching I'll get done, seeing as how we are going to Fort Worth this weekend, but we'll see....maybe I'll take my August freebie with me, it's nice and small, to work on in the car...a two and half hour ride. Or maybe I'll start something new. I have been wanting to start something new for awhile...which so far I have been able to keep from doing, however, I don't know how much longer I can hold off. The thing is I work on such LARGE pieces, very few small ones, that I get bored of working on them after so long, so I have to switch every so often...and when I get sick of ALL of them, then I get startitis. I think I will try to be good though and wait it out until I have rotated through all my projects I have going now. You'd think that'd be variety enough for me, seeing as how I have about 20-25 projects in the workings right now. But then there is all that lovely stash just sitting in those drawers, taunting me!!! Maybe it is time to start Christmas stitching? Hmmm...NOW there's an idea....

Progress!

Well, here is a photo, a crumby one actually, it is crooked and sloppy, but a photo none the less!! For the most part this weekend I worked on the top left part of this picture, the greenery and the gray of a wolf leg. I was on a roll with this one this weekend! And now I am thinking I need to get back to Snow Valley Express, as it has een neglected for a bit now. my stitching time will be cut a bit short today as I have a dentist appointment at 2:00 today to get my teeth cleaned, and Then I will probably have to go straight to work right after that. But, I only have a week and a day until I will not have to go to work anymore. I will be leaving to spend the holidays (3 weeks!) with my family in California, and then when I get home I get to start looking for a new job. So, I am anticipating lots of stitching time in there, while looking for a job! I am hoping to be able to find something by February. But if we can financially swing it I may not work at all. The other idea I am thinking about, and don't laugh, is a paper route. I saw in the ads, that they are looking for routers, and the pay is about the same as what I make at Sam's in a month. That would be awesome if I could get up early, and get my two or three hours in and be done for the day before the rest of the world even wakes up, and have the rest of the day to myself. I think that would be very fitting for me. Plus it would allow me more time with my hubby in the evenings, as right now I start work when he gets off work, so we totally miss each other, and I work most weekends when he is home, and so we don't get to spend much time together unless I have the day off. I am nervous but excited at the prospect of being unemployed. Well, I am off to stitch, as my stitching time will be cut short today so gotta go! I have really enjoyed reading lots of blogs, and everytime I turn around there's a new one I have never read, and on the list it goes! Thank you for all my comments you have been leaving! I love comments, and I try to leave them for others as well. So, if you are reading this, please leave me a comment and let me know you were here! I love to hear from you!

Come on Blogger! Cooperate!

I want it to cooperate, because I have a bunch of photos to share with you...well, three progress photo's! so, here it goes:
The first one is of Snow Valley Express, I am almost done with the stitching of the first page. I have been diligent about working on this one, and as I wrote earlier this week, it goes quickly once I actually pick it up, it's just picking it up that is the hard part. And I am definitely not looking forward to backstitching this one! Ugh! But that is a ways off. The next one is of what I worked on yesterday for a bit, not for too long, though. "Dare to Dream". This one has been in the "TO DO" pile for awhile, and I think the last time I dragged it out was...well a LONG time ago. So, here is Dare to Dream, which has been put into my rotation now. It doesn't look like much right now, but give me time, and it will! =) and lastly is my hubby's eagle piece. He hasn't touched it in quite awhile, but the last few days he picked it up for a bit. I think he is doing really well.
I am not sure what I am in the mood to work on today, maybe more Snow Valley Express. Yesterday it snowed here. Just a little bit, but man, it was freezing! Brrrr....But it will probably be all melted by this afternoon, as we are supposed to have a high of 55 today. Which is just fine with me! I hate icey roads! I made DH drive me to and from work yesterday because I was freaked out by the ice, as it was he said he slipped on some ice on his way to pick me up last night. So, I know alot of you in the states are having snow and icky weather, and I hope you are all safe on the roads. Well, I am off to look at projects that are calling for my attention and figure out which one I will give my attention to!

I Give you three guesses and the first two don't count!

Can you guess what I've been working on? Yup, I'm still very stuck on this one. Which frustrates me because I know I could finish my mom's Nov. Quilt in a few hours, but I haven't so much as even looked at it lately. Maybe tonight I will work on it. Work has been hectic lately, pulling full shifts, which is a major cut in my stitching time, and yet, in the end will be alright because it is a major "not" cut into my stash money. Now if I can just figure out how to stay out of Target. does anyone else like that store? It is such a fun store, isn't it?

Well, seeing as how i have to go to work in 2 hours (And for once it is a short shift, yippee!) I am going to get off the computer and do some stitching.

Dare to dream...

That seems to be the one project I am stuck on right now. see? This is just why a rotation doesn't work for me. I worked on Dare to Dream for two days and got quite a bit done, but none of my other projects got very much work done on them. No work got done on Snow Valley Express, Patchwork Bears or Dolphins. But here is the picture of progress of Dare to Dream. Sorry it is sorta wrinkled. That is the lower left hand corner of the project. I am almost done with that area of the border, and a small part of the wolf that is right inside, the paw is outlined in yellow/cream there with the bottom touching the border. Do you see it?

Well, today is sunday November Quilt day...I am thinking I really need to get itdone SOON, as my mom will be here to visit for about a week, and I would like to have it done by then. Hmmm...? well, I am off from work today so I think I will be doing lots of stitching and housework and reading. what should i do first? Should I do the housework, and then reward myself with stitching and reading? Hmmm...of course not, afterall "Needlework forever, Housework whenever!"

Not much done, but here's a picture anyway...

Well, I did very little stitching today, but I did do some, you proabbly can't even tell, but since I have vowed that I am going to share photos everyday of my rotation progress, here it is. I worked on Dare to dream, I just put a little bit of green into the border there, I think that is about it. not much at all, but a photo is here. I am really trying to be disciplined, but truth be known, I am really not in a stitching mood lately. So, here it is, it is coming along, but it will be a slow process. Have a great weekend everyone!
