Ornament finish and progress!

Well! I was able to finish my first ornie of the year for January! He looks like this:

I think he came out super cute!

Next I started this one:
It's a snowman holding a sign saying "I love Snowmen" I was able to get most of the sign done, but still have a long ways to go! So! even though I only finished 1 ornie so far, I'm on track on my goal to finish 1 a month, and I'm hoping to be able to keep up with this trend.

Progress on Stitching as of late has been a lot less than normal, due to the fact that hubby is now home!! so, we've been spending time together as a family, and such, which totally cuts into the stitching, but that's alright...stitching will always be there, but I got 1/2 a year of time with him to make up for!

Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Thank you all for the lovely kind comments!
See yah next time!

Ornament update

I started ornament #4 in this "Let it snow" series of snowmen. I'm late in posting because I really wanted to get a bit more progress on it so here he is:

He's wearing a little coat and hat and holding a sign that says "Let it snow". He's adorable and can't wait to have him finished up! I've still got quite a ways to go to get to that point. But he's a lot of fun to stitch, so I don't mind.
Hope you're all having a great week! My daughter started kindergarten this week... She loves it! She comes home exhausted but happy everyday. So I'm Able to get a bit more stitching in lately with her gone for 7 hours a day.
Thank you for stopping in! See yah again soon!

"Let it Snow" ornament #3 progress

Here is the ornament I'm currently working on. It's an adorable snowman wearing  a tall, pointy hat.
So sorry I've not been around so consistently. My hubby deployed again last week, so been dealing with that.
I always tend to go in a funk for awhile right around the time he leaves.
So, I've been zoning out in front of Netflix for a lot of the day, not really able to focus well on hobbies. I'll get there though.
Thank you for your patience as I try to get it together.

A finish, an almost finish and end of the year plans

So! I finished this little guy yesterday:
He was a pretty quick stitch!

So, I decided that instead of continuing on with my rotation now (the next project in my rotation is DS2N), I would pull out Web of Life and really try to finish it up by years end.

So here's how it looked last night when I pulled it out after finishing my ornament:
This is page 3. I've finished pages 1 and 2 already.
After working on it last night and this morning it looks like this:

So, I've finished all the x stitches and only have back stitching to do now. I really think I should be able to finish this by the next time I share on Dec. 5th.  So keep your fingers crossed for me!

And I think once I finish this one, I will pull out Sea of Roses and try to finish page 2 before years end.

Here is how Web of Life looks in its entirety:

Soooooo close to a finish! So throwing the rotation out the window in hopes of having another full finish for the year! (Sorry for all the wrinkles! Oops)

Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Ornaments!

I started a new ornament on the 15th and here's how far I got with it:
Not too bad for 5 days worth of stitching! I'm pretty pleased with this progress.

And I've made 3 more cards:

So 6 done, 14 more to go! Still having lots of fun with these!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! See yah in 5 days, hopefully with one finished star shaped Santa and the start of another ornament!

A finish, some progress, and a photobomb...

So!  I am very excited and happy that I have another finish for this month!!! Two finishes this month?! For me that's amazing! I finished the 2nd piece in my Santa ornament series:

Then I put in about 15 hours of work on this:

And here's my cute little photobomber:

I was very productive this month!! Along with all my stitching I also managed to read 9 books as well! So I did pretty good this month! Now looking forward to the fall and Halloween next month. It's still in the 80s here so I'm still waiting for fall to hit. Hope everyone had a great stitchy month. See yah soon!

I Love Santas! Ornie # 1!!

So, I seem to be in a partial stitching slump lately! Meaning I want to stitch, but just been too lazy to get into my stash and pull the threads I need for this next series: "I Love Santas".  For what you see here I just used some of the same threads that were used in the Winter Fun series. I think once I pull my threads and get everything correctly kitted up, this series will be a lot of fun to work on!  Well that's about it here. I also worked some on DS2N but I will share that in my next post... Hopefully much sooner than it took me to post this one!  I hope your weekends are wonderful and filled with stitchy goodness!!

Another finish!!

Well, this one is finally finished! It took me over a month!! I blame my lack of stitching mojo for that! But! With this finish comes the completion of this entire 12 ornament series called "Winter Fun". Which I started in APRIL of last year! Yup! It's taken me over a year to finish 12 small little ornaments. Of course since I am a rotation stitcher there were other larger finishes in there too, like The Abbey and Snow Valley Express, and yet I just can't believe it's taken me SO long to finish these little guys up. I guess that's what happens when you have an international move, family trips, loved ones deploy, depression sets in and Netflix decides to move in and be your best friend! Not to mention the 50 books I've read this year, and just life... I think that my stitchy mojo is back though, so we will see what I grab to work on next. Probably Web of life, as it is so close to a finish, and I really would like to see it finished by years end! We shall see... Joyful stitching to you all!

A tiny bit more of my ornament!

I have been busy doing family stuff so not stitching too much, but I did manage to get a little bit more done on this. I was hoping for a finish, but It just wasn't in the cards for this round. Maybe next time!!

Progress on another ornament!

I really haven't been stitching much lately, too busy with other things but I was able to get a little bit done on this ornament. He's the second to last one in this series. (Called "winter fun"), then I will be moving into the next set of ten in the book which is called "I love Santas". My goal for the year is to finish the Santa series of 10, and the next series of 10 (snowmen). So we will see just how far I get!! Hope everyone's week is going well, and you are able to get lots of stitching done.

First finish of 2014!! Winter fun Ornament #7

Well, I finally got my first finish of the year!!! Go me!! I really am enjoying working on these little ornaments, especially since I have so many HUGE projects in the works this year. I'm only expecting to see 2, maybe 3 finishes other than these little guys, over the course of the year. I hope to finish The Abbey, Web of Life, and possibly Mystic Dragon. The rest? No way. Probably won't even see a finish on them for years! LOL

And here's to show Just how the backstitching really makes an impact on these projects:
Before backstitch they are just a blob of random color!

Joyful stitching!

Winterfun Ornament #4- Progress!

Here is my progress on #4. I got alot more done than I thought I would! And I didn't even do any stitching for two of the 5 days alloted for this round. Just wasn't in the mood! This one seems to be stitching up pretty quickly! But I'm not sure if I will have a finish on it like I want by months end, but we will see!

For the next 5 days I am trying to decide what I want to pull out to work on. It is supposed to be Web of Life, but I am dying to pull out Mystic Dragon and get some work in on it, so I am thinking either 1) stitch on Dragon instead of Web....or 2) spend 3 out of the 5 days on Dragon, and 2 with Web.  That way they both get some work in on them. This rotation thing is tricky!!

Thank you for reading!!

Well, I'm back!

Wow! What a month! We were out of town to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I should/could have blogged, but I barely even stitched! I only took 1 project with me (Web of Life), and I think the entire month I may have gotten 5 hours stitching in.

We got home Sunday night, and I couldn't wait to get things unpacked so I could settle into some stitching. According to my rotation schedule I worked on ornaments for the past 2 days.
I was able to finish #2 in the Winter Fun series! I really didn't have much to do to finish it.
And I worked on #3 in the Winter Fun series.

OMG WTH?!?!?! I think my husband installed an update on this computer. My picture system is all messed up on it! It won't read my memory card from my camera. And it won't allow me to crop or change the photos at all!!! WHAT?! So, sorry for the crappy photo of #3. Dang, if I have to go through all this crap just for a dumb photo, I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna keep blogging. It doesn't seem worth it! We'll see.

Ugh! How annoying!!! I had to take the photos on my phone, e-mail them to myself, then save them to the computer,THEN post them, and I can't even edit them the way I want?! This is ridiculous!  Anyone else having issues?

Well, it is Web of life time in my rotation, but since I worked on it during my trip, I may pull out the Abbey and get some work into it! Who knows? Well, I was gonna tell you a bit about my trip, but right now I'm so irked I just wanna get off this dumb computer!

Joyful stitching!

Winter Fun Ornament #2 Almost a Finish but Not Quite!

I am so close to a finish on this. All I have is to fill in a little bit of the snow in the background and finish the backstitching. I am not too pleased with the backstitch. For this one I used the called for color (DMC 535) Which is really a dark gray color, but I don't think it shows up quite as well as the black, so I will probably go back to using the black. The black just looks so much more crisp and clean in my opinion. What do you think?

Well, not sure how many more posts I will be posting the rest of this month, as we are going out of town for almost a month for vacation. We are going back to my parents to help celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary! So it will be a fun time! But I'm not counting on getting a whole bunch of stitching or other hobby type things done while we are there.

So, until next time- Joyful Stitching!!

A stitchy update-Finally!!! A finish!!

Here is the first ornament in the Winter Fun series.  There are 12 of these. I can't believe I started this series in April!!! At least that is what I have down as the start date in my records. WOW! Lets hope the next one doesn't take so long. I think it took so long, because for about a month I set the ornaments aside to work solely on my dad's train. I am so happy to have this one finished!

I also have a pretty good start on the second one, but I was too lazy to post a photo... maybe later. Or with my next update, which will be Web of Life. Which I am really enjoying!!

Joyful stitching, and thank you for reading!

Ornaments Progress!

I got quite a little bit into my first ornament in the "Winter Fun" series! There are 12 of these! I love the bright colors in these! And these are the kind that will really pop when the backstitching is put in, as you stitch along, it ust sorta looks like a colorful little blob, but putting in that nice dark outline will really bring it to life!
And I also made a small start on #2, as there were only a few stitches of yellow in #1, and so decided to use the remainder of that thread in #2, as opposed to just tossing it!
However, I think I may be putting these little guys away for a bit, and working on my new start: "Web of Life" in their place.  That way I will have these little guys to work on during the move. These smaller ones will be so much more easier to work on in the confines of a plane and car than one that has a huge piece of fabric. Unlike the last set I did, I am actually stitching these on their own individual pieces of aida.  So much easier to work with!

Ok, off to work on dad's train, I am pleased with my progress this round of the rotation on it so far!

Hope all my readers had an amazing weekend, filled with lots of stitching!

Tiny critters are coming along!

I am really enjoying these little Ornaments! Such easy finishes!! I don't know why I decided to do them all on one piece of Fabric, but I did.  I have now finished 6 and started 2 more! I am over half way finished with this series! My goal for this month on this one is to finish #'s 6-8, I finished #6, and I think I will be able to get #'s 7 and 8 finished.

But for now this one will be set aside and I will move onto the next project in my rotation-Snow valley Express! Yup, the dreaded train! Lets hope I get more done on it that I did last month!

Joyful stitching all!

...and bye bye rotation!

As my title for today says this past week has blown my rotation out the window! I was not able to start my internship this week at the rehab center, because the lady who I am supposed to contact has either not been in the office, and has not returned my calls. This is making me very nervous. I need to get this done, and ...ugh, I really have no one to blame but myself since I put it off for so long. However, this has allowed for more stitching time, and I actually got a finish! I am done with the first ornament of the 6 that I am working on right now. And I am almost done with the stocking, I just have to finish the fill in on the heel and do the back stitching and the red backstitched line that makes up the plaid in the sock. And as you can see- have started the third already, I'm off from work tomorrow so I am hoping to get the third one at least most the way done and at least start the fourth. However, it being a Sunday, DH will be home and so I will probably spend much of the day helping him put up our fence that fell over a few days before he got home, so not sure just how much of my stitching goals will be met. So, I have been stitching a bit, but not a whole lot, simply because I am trying to be more disciplined with my lifestyle. When hubby was gone I turned into a huge couch potato, and now I have decided not to be anymore. I have done dishes and laundry and vacuuming, and cleaning and tidying up, and only allowing myself to watch two hours of tv a day, if that. I am making myself read more, and write more letters, and just live a more productive life. However, because I usually do my stitching while I watch TV, my cutting down on TV time has also cut down on my stitching time as well. I don't really mind right now, but you know how life is...sometimes you can't seem to stitch enough and other times you just set those needles down and live life. Right now I am just making a few changes in my life, which I think is also a contributing factor to my not posting as often this week. Plus the fact that I have been trying to get ahold of that lady to start the internship as well. Stress cuts back on my productivity! Anyway, I will share with you a progress photo of my ornies! Hope you have a great weekend.

ps...Bethann if you are reading this, I happily got your letter, and will write you soon!

And Christmas is on it's way!

Well, as I said I was going to start new ornies this past weekend, I did. I didn't think I would get very much done, but I cheated, instead of working on Fright Night Friends yesterday I worked more on my ornies. Bad me! Bye bye rotation! It is still Tuesday and Fright Night Friends day so I will just catch up today, as it is cold dreary and wet out today it will be the perfect day to curl up with a fuzzy blanket a stack of movies and Fright Night Friends.
But I do have photos of my starts.
I found these 6 cuties in the March 2005 issue of Stitcher's World. (Yes, it is odd that you'd find Christmas in the middle of the spring issue, but I would be guessing that for lack of better ideas they issued a Christmas all year long thing last year in their mag. So, every issue had something Christmasy I think.) Anyway, I liked these 6 and thought I'd start with them first for my ornaments. I was originally going to do them one at a time, start and finish, but I pulled a rather large piece of scrap aida for the ornaments, and so just used tail ends of color for the second piece. So, I am working on the santa face and the stocking. For the Santa, I basically just have the white in the beard and the back stitching to do, but the stocking has a long ways to go. I am so tempted to work on these little guys today, to see if I could get them done, but I will be good, I must resume to Fright Night Friends, Especially since I neglected them yesterday. Well, here I go to make a Cafe' Mocha and sit and stitch the day away...housework be damned! =)
