Beautiful Spring

Greetings! Already, it is March and time for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu! This time, the challenge theme is "Anything Spring."

I gathered up a number of stamp images from Redlead Paperworks and water colored the background panel and stamp images. The sentiment is one of Alison Bomber's latest for Paper Artsy.  Love her collections of quotes!

I hope that you will stop over to see all the gorgeous samples created by the rest of the Design Team and then consider making one of your own to share with us.

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments.  They always brighten my day.  Hugs, Yvonne

Quoth the Raven

Greetings! I am several days behind in posting my project for the October Challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  Life sometimes gets in the way, doesn't it? I am grateful to Elaine for her patience.  The theme this month is: Dark/Dramatic Colors and/or Scary!

I chose to go with scary.  Black birds really creep me out, specifically in the fall. I began with an orange tag from Red Lead Paperworks, stamped the raven and sentiments, which are from Red Lead Paperworks, as well. I used Distress Inks to colorize and distress everything, and then assemble it onto the tag.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with for your own projects! Happy Crafting. Best, Yvonne

Something About Audrey

Greetings friends! I'm a bit behind with getting my post out for the new challenge over at Inkspirational where the theme is a word prompt "Hello."
For my own card, I used this iconic image of Audrey Hepburn by Deep Red. The sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks.  I added a stencil by Stencil Girl over the focal image and spritzed with Rose Quartz Dylusions Ink Spray. The panel was doodled, matted and added to a card base. I hope that you will stop over to see what the rest of the Design Team has dreamed up to inspire you and that you will in turn create a project of your own to share with us.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by.  Best, Yvonne

To the Moon and Back

Greetings! I have been away for many, many weeks, though there have been some scheduled posts. I did not have my art supplies with me either, so after taking care of necessities, I treated myself to some time in my art studio. I decided to play along with the newest challenge over at Stampotique where the theme is "Only Blue." I inked up this darling rocket ship and passengers for the first time using Midnight Blue Staz On Ink and water colored it with several tints of Distress Ink. The panel was spritzed with Periwinkle Blue Dylusions Ink and the moon was masked with Frisket, but the ink bled through and I actually like it! Stars by NStudio for Rubber Moon and a splattering of sequins in shades of blue by Red Lead Paperworks completes my card. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving love and comments. Best, Yvonne

Dance Ballerina, Dance!

Greetings! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, the challenge is to make a project based on the inspiration photo below.

Though my first thought was to go very similar to the photo above, in the end, I decided to go a bit more colorful. I grabbed a scrap piece of water color paper that had some mop up ink on it and using a Red Lead Paperwork stencil to trace around the edges before cutting the ballerina out.  The background was also created using a Red Lead Paperwork stencil. I doodled around the edges after distressing with Spun Pink Distress Ink and added some sequins for fun.  I hope that you will pop on over to Inkspirational to see what the rest of the design team has created and then share a project of your own with us.  Best, Yvonne

Time to Fly

Greetings! It is time, once again, for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, where this time the theme is Floral and Fauna and/or Nature.  For my project, I decided to use this gorgeous stamp from Indigo Blue of a butterfly. I colored it with water colors, added some sentiments by Red Lead Paperworks and splattered Golden Fluid Acrylics paint on the panel, which was then matted and added to a card base. Please stop over to EE to see the rest of the projects the design team have dreamed up for you and then we hope that you will create a project of your own to share with us.  Thanks for stopping by! Best, Yvonne

Beyond the Deep Blue Sea

Greetings! Due to technical difficulties, my post is delayed for the newest challenge over at Inkspirational where our theme this time is "Wave." Since I am at the ocean and was thinking about my visit to the beach when I worked on my project, I chose to go with ocean waves, but there are lots of other ways to go, as you will see when you check out the inspiration pieces by the rest of the design team!

For my own card, I decided to tear strips of card stock to represent waves, rather than use a stamp image.  The beach huts and sailboats are by Stampotique Originals, the sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks and the sea birds are by Crafty Individuals. We look forward to seeing what you dream up.  Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments. Best, Yvonne

You are Pawsome!

Greetings! It's time again for a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  This time, our theme is "Anything Goes." That should make it easy for everyone to play along!

I hope you will stop over to see the variety of projects that our design team have created to inspire you and that you will then crate one of your own to share with us.

Mine is quite simple.  I spritzed water color paper with water and then Distress Inks. I stamped a Stampotique image with white fluid acrylic onto the background and doodled with a black pen. I stamped, with Distress Ink, a foreground with a stamp by Stampendous. Next I water colored some Tim Holtz Paperdolls and added them to the panel. Some sentiments by Red Lead Paperworks complete my card. Thanks for stopping by.  I truly appreciate your visits. Best, Yvonne

Eternity

Greetings! It is time once again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational. This time, we are to create a project based on the photo below.

This was fun! I fashioned the boards from water color paper that I colored with Distress Ink Oxides and burnished the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Inks. The seashells by Oxford Impressions were stamped in various colors of ink on scrap card and layered onto the panel. The bottle is a stamp by Paper Artsy, the sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks and the flowers are by Donna Downey for Unity Stamps. I hope you will pop over to see all the creative makes by the rest of the Design Team and then consider joining us with a project of your own. Thanks for stopping by.  I truly appreciate your visit and your comments. Hugs, Yvonne

Cherished Memories

Greetings! It is once again time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! This time we have a sketch to follow. The circles are for placement, but the actual shape you use, is up to you!

For my own design, I chose to replace the circles with seashells! The sentiment and shells and sequins are all by RedLead Paperworks. I am not the best at CAS designs, but if you pop on over to Inkspirational, you will be inspired by the rest of the design team for sure!  I hope you will create and share a project of your own! Thanks for stopping by.  Hugs, Yvonne

Gone Fishing

Greetings and thank you for stopping by my blog! My card today is for the latest challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  Our theme, "Gone Fishing." You can make a project with anything about fish, or even a boat on the sea! My card is quite simple, but I really was trying to capture just what was happening under the surface of the water, rather than the bottom of the ocean! I hope you will stop over to FSC and see all the awe-inspiring makes of the design team for further inspiration and then consider sharing a make of your own with us.  Please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so stamping needs to be the focal point of your piece.  One lucky participant will be selected to win a free stamp by our sponsor, Ink Art Designs.

For my piece, I began with a watercolor panel. I smooshed various Distress Ink Oxides onto a craft mat, one at a time, spritzed with water and mopped up the inkiness.  I sprinkled water onto the panel and heat set it. It lacked the dimension I was seek so I added spritzes of Distress Ink Sprays in Faded Blue Jeans and Broken China. The hook, sentiments, and fish are all by Paper Artsy and some of my favorite images.  Not sure why I am enthralled by fish, but I am always on the lookout for a new fish stamp! I think I am amazed at how many different fish God created! After stamping the fish on scrap water color paper, I put down more Distress Ink Oxides on my craft mat, spritzed with water and dragged the fish through the inkiness. I also added some color with TomBow Markers and a water pen. To finish off my card, I added sequins by Red Lead Paperworks.

We look forward to seeing what you are inspired to make! Thanks for stopping by. Best, Yvonne

I hope that you will check out all the inspired pieces by the Design Team and then create a piece of your own to share with us.  For my own make, I used several sets of images from Red Lead Paperworks. Peace on Earth

Greetings and thank you for stopping by my blog! My post today is for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge where the theme is "Anything Goes!" I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the Design Team has dreamed up to inspire you and then consider sharing a creation of your own with us. Remember, ours is a stamping challenge so stamping needs to be the focal point of your creation.  One lucky participant will receive a $20 gift voucher from our sponsor, FlonzCraft.

For my piece, I began with a water color panel. I applied several shades of Gelatos and then laid a stencil by Red Lead Paperworks over top and lifted color off with a baby wipe. Torn strips of a book page were added next. The angel by Stampotique was stamped onto scrap water color paper, colored, fussy cut and added to the card front. The sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks.

Thank you for stopping by. Best, Yvonne

Heaps of Pearls

Greetings! Back again with a post for the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge, where the new theme is "Resist."

I cannot remember the last time I created a piece using resist.  I really struggled, and almost gave up and then realized I was trying to use too heavy of inks. Once I broke out my sorely neglected Distress Ink Pads the images finally revealed! The shells are by Red Lead Paperworks, and the stenciled coral is also by Red Lead, as are the sentiments.

I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the design team has cooked up for you and then consider creating a piece of your own to share with us. Remember, one lucky participant will win a gift voucher from our sponsor, Flonzcraft.

To Have Faith

Greetings! It's time once again for another new challenge over at Inkspirational. This time, the challenge is to "Mask." I do not do a lot of masking, and I am always thankful for challenges that push me a bit to grow my skill set, so this one was perfect for me.  I hope you will stop over to see what the rest of the Design Team dreamed up to inspire you. Please consider submitting a piece of your own for us to enjoy.

For my card, I began by laying a number of different colors of Gelatos onto a water color panel. I added water until I was happy. Then I stenciled with a number of stencils on top of the panel. I found a stencil by Red Lead Paperworks in my stash that included a package of the cut outs created by the stencil, i.e. mask. I laid the masks on the panel and then spritzed with Black Marble Dylusions Ink Spray. After removing the masks, I splattered Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint in various colors over the panel. The sentiments and birds nest are by Red Lead Paperworks, too. Thanks so much for dropping by. Yvonne

Life is the Flower

Greetings and thank you for stopping by today! There's a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenge.  This time, the challenge theme is "Beautiful Blooms." Perfect for June! I chose to ink up this Donna Downey Poppy Flower Stamp by Unity Stamps. It is huge at 7" tall.  I stamped it onto watercolor paper after inking the stamp with TomBow Markers.  I outlined the flowers with black ink to give them more definition and added a bit more color to some of the blooms.  The little fairy girl is by Red Lead Paperworks and was stamped onto the panel and watercolored with TomBow Markers, as well.  The sentiment is by Oxford Impressions. Texture was added with Black embossing paste through stencils, all by Wendy Vecchi. Scraps of torn book page were added and then the piece was matted and mounted to a card base. Finished size is 8" x 8."

I hope you will stop over to the inspiration pieces of the rest of the design team and then make a piece of your own to share with us.  One lucky participant will win a gift voucher from our sponsor, Flonzcraft.  Please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so stamping needs to be the focal point of your piece. Full details are available over at FSC.

Thanks for stopping by.  I truly enjoy your comments. Best, Yvonne

Please check out all the cool samples created by the rest of the Design Team and consider submitting a project of your own.

For my piece, I used images by Red Lead Paperworks, stamped onto water color paper and selectively colored in with Towbow Markers and a water color brush.  Thanks for stopping by. Best, Yvonne

Peace on Earth

Greetings! It is time once again for another challenge over at Inkspirational! This time, it is anything goes with silver.

Not having any silver items, I chose to paint over some rusted metal items with Distress Paint.  The background is done with red and green Bister spritzed with water on water color paper.  The sentiment is by Red Lead Paperworks and the Angel is by Oxford Impressions.  I hope you will stop over to see all the beautiful inspiration pieces of the rest of the Design Team and then create a project of your own to share with us! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Yvonne

Boo!

Greetings! It is time again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! The theme: Cute Halloween.  If you are not into Halloween, you can still join in by making a project with an Owl or Pumpkin instead.

For my card, I used some background paper and then stamped several vintage inspired Halloween stamps, which I thought were cute onto scrap card.  I colored them in softly with Gelatoes, distressed the edges and matted them and added them to the card front.  The chip board letters are by Tim Holtz and the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.  I hope you will stop by Inskpirational to see the inkspiring work of the rest of the Design Team and then submit a project of your own!

Thanks for stopping by! Yvonne

Changing Seasons

Greetings! It is time once again for the latest challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenge! Our theme this time around is "Changing Seasons." Isn't autumn a beautiful time of year? I love pulling out my cozy sweaters and corduroys! For my own sample, I began by spraying fall colors of Dylusions Ink Sprays onto a water color panel and spritzing with water.  The focal image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps.  The girl is colored with TowBow Markers.  The acorns are from Red Lead Paperworks and the bark is from my yard! I hope you will pop on over to see what the rest of the team has dreamed up to inspire you and that you will then create and share your own project with us for the chance to win a prize offered by our generous sponsor, FlonzCraft.  Thanks for stopping by.  Yvonne
