Cake & Cats

Thanks for your messages of congratulations, I'm still well chuffed! Its been another dreary autumn week so far here, lots of rain or cloud or mist or a combination meaning its getting dark and half three, roll on spring! Lots to do and not a huge amount of time but I've been planning work stuff around Christmas time and think I'm going to manage a nice long break, where I can eat loads and watch films in my PJ's. Stuff like that! A couple of Cake cards to share today.
Both use a Two Peas Dingbat font, DCWV paper and ribbon from Ribbon Oasis, and I can't believe the sparkle actually showed up in the photo. They're painted with pretend H2Os, which come in a little pallette of 10 colours from the works. You can mix them with normal watercolours too for more colours and they're a bargain at £2.99 - up with the artists stuff.

The poor cats are really hating the rain, they seem to want in two seconds after they've been let out and have managed to get themselves soaked in that miniscule amount of time. Then of course they want a cuddle straight away, hmmm nothing like a cuddle with a soggy cat eh. I got a set of stamps recently from Rusty Pickle, the one that made them have to have stamps was a quote...

Dogs have owners.
Cats have staff.

So true!

Wild things!

Firstly I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has visited my blog and especially those who have left such fab comments. It's great to know who's stopping by and although I haven't been able to return the favour cause of a hectic week, I plan on setting aside some blog reading time as soon as I can!

This weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge was set by the wonderful Kathy, to use animals on your card, but not just iddy diddy ones, big beastly ones!

I made a cute little dinosaur card using my scallop scissors, (surprise surprise there eh!) K&Co paper, ink and a 2 Peas Dingbat font called boys will be boys. If you want to know how to do the fancy bow on the right hand side I've done a tutorial for the Wedding Crafter and all the step by step instructions are there.

I forgot to share my Santas little extra helper card the other day too. Its made in a similar way, DCWV Christmas 6x6 paper, ribbon and the Santa, with the oh so cute hat, it's one letter from the 2Peas Santa dingbat, printed on red card, cut out by hand and decorated the hat with white EP.

Not a girly girl!

Happy Birthday Tash! Thanks for a great night out.

It's always a little tricky to make cards for Tash as she's even less of a girly girl than me and flowers are out of the question, lol. Here's what I came up with this year inspired by the fashion for skulls. It's a font called Skullcaps and each letter is a skull with different eyes. You can get it here. I printed one letter at about 220 points.
Other bits I used: Dovecraft papers, white gel pen, sizzix star die, Penny Black Licorice Alpha and some spotty ribbon.
