September Smalls SAL

Hello all!  It has been a crazy month.  We are been in homeschool mode and have joined a co-op this year, which has been great.  The kids have already made some new friends.

But with the start of the new school year, I don't get to stitch as much, but I was able to stitch up this quick, little stitch from Country Rustic Primitives - Jenny Hoffman called I'll Get You My Kitty.  I used a piece of scrap fabric and DMC 310.

Have to run and finish planning our school week for this coming week.

Until next time

May's Small SAL

Just a quick post of the small I stitched for May.  It was in my previous post, but forgot to mention it.

Sorry, I don't know why it is sideways.  This is a free chart from Primitive Betty.  I used a piece of fabric from my stash and the DMC she recommended.  It was such a fun stitch.

2013 Stitching Goals

I have spent the last week pondering what my stitching goals for 2013 would be and I think I have finally came up with a plan.

I proclaim 2013 to be the year of smalls for me.  I would love to be able to fill my baskets and shelves with pieces I have stitched and I figured this would be a great way to do it.  My plan is to stitch 2 Halloween, 1 Christmas and 3 monthly themed smalls each month.  I know it may sound like alot, but I am thinking if they are smalls, they hopefully shouldn't take to long to stitch up.

When I am done with the smalls each month, I am going to stitch Autumn on Marigold Lane and Fancy Blackett Brooms from Pineberry Lane.

As you can see from my previous two posts, I have stitched one Halloween and One Christmas small so far.  I started Season of Love from LHN last night, but there was not enough to warrant a picture.  I will share that next time.

What are your stitching goals this year?  I would love to hear them.

1st Finish of 2013

Happy New Year everyone. I hope the Holiday Season was wonderful for everyone.

I am happy to have my first finish of the year. I am taking part in a Halloween monthly SAL and this is my piece.

The designer is Plum Street Samplers and the pattern is Stranded Jacks. This is one of five patterns. I used 36 ct. Linen and mixture if WDW, CC and GAST threads. I loved each stitch of this piece. I am really looking forward to stitching the other four pieces soon.

Have to run to the doctor. I have been having a stabbing pain in my ear and my jaw and cheek have been hurting when I open it for a few days, so i am thinking either an ear or sinus infection.

A Little Too Early

Hello!  I know, I know!  I haven't posted in awhile.  I haven't been doing to much stitching as I have been really into this whole reorganization thing.  I finished the kids playroom and will try and post pictures of it soon.  We recently had our basement finished and I have a craft area down there now.  So, that has been my next project.  My DH and I hung shelves in there this pass weekend and I have now started putting the area in order.  I am hoping to have it all done this week, since the kiddos are on Spring Break next week and I want to spend the week doing fun things with them.

Is it to early to stitch Halloween?  For me, it is never to early.  Halloween is my favorite holiday and I can stitch Halloween pieces year round.  SoI started going through stitching withdrawal and decided to fondle my stash.  This is what I stitched up.

Primitive ABC Witch Pinkeep Pillow from Primitive Stitchin.  It is stitched on 40ct. Golden Harvest  using the recommended DMC threads.  It was a quick, fun stitch.

Now I need to decide if I want to stitch another Halloween piece, an Bunny or a Christmas Ornament.  Decisions, Decisions.  Maybe, I will have my kiddos choose for me.

Off to make supper.

UCJC Starts for Days 7 & 8

Here are my starts for Days 7 & 8.  They are both Blackbird Designs Halloween Stocking from their Tis' Halloween Booklet.  I am really enjoying these stockings and just might have to find the booklets in my stash from their montly stocking series.

Sorry the pictures are not the best, I couldn't get the lighting right and my 2 little ones are getting on each others nerves.

This one is called Night Song and was picked out by my son.  He says this one will be for him.  We will have to see, as I would love to put it on my Halloween Tree this year.
This one is Candy Corn.  My daughter choose this one for me.  She thought all the Candy Corns were cute.  It will be really cute when it is done.

Have to run and get the kiddos to bed

Fright?

Here is my start for Day 3 of the UCJC.  It is Fright from Shepherd's Bush.  It is a kit that included the fabric, threads, button, and chart.  Since I am in a mood to stitch on 40ct fabric, I changed out the fabric to 40ct. Rock Quarry from Silkweavers.  You will see that I love this color.  I am using it for the piece I started on Day 2.

I am making a change to the challenge.  Instead of going off the list I created of 31 projects, I am just going to start which ever project grabs my interest that day.  I have been reorganizing my stash and have found lots I can't wait to stitch, so by creating my list as I go along, I will be more inclined to stay with the challenge. :)

If you check out my Challenge page, the list will only be up to the day that we are on.  So, by the time we hit the beginning of February, there will be 31 charts listed there.

Off to fondle my stash and find my new start for tomorrow.

Day 2 Brings

Light Your Way from Blackbird Designs.  The pattern can be found in their Trix or Treat Booklet.  I would have had more stitched, but I changed fabric 3 times, before I finally found this one.  I am stitching it on 40ct. Rock Quarry Linen from Silkweavers.  I am using DMC floss as my hand dyed floss is all buried in my front room since we are having a major reorganization of our basement done.

Now I am off to figure out what to start for Day 3.  So much to stitch and so little time!

1st Start of 2012

Here is my first start of the year.  This is Haunted Hill House by Homespun Elegance.  I am stitching it on 28ct. Carpe Noctum OOKA from Sunny Dyes Fabric and using DMC thread.  It is a fun stitch!

You will be seeing more starts from me this month as I have joined the Ultimate Crazy January Challenge.  The challenge is to start a new piece every day in January, so by February 1st, you have 31 new starts.  Then you finish them off through the course of the year.  I am feeling very ambitious and feel I can get it done, plue make progress on my WIP/UFO list.

Off to decide what my start will be for tomorrow.

Do You Think I Love Halloween?

Hi,
I have been stitching up a storm this last week and also have been doing some finishing.  Here is what I have been doing.  I think we are finally getting over the sickness that has been going through this house.  We have all had our flu shots now and I hope that will help ward some of this stuff off.  Though, I have to worry about strep throat right now, as it is going through my son's school.  I am already looking forward to Spring and Summer and having these sickness be gone.

I will be back on Sat. with an update on Something Wicked from LA D DA.  It sure is a fun stitch.  I hope to have it done by Halloween, as my mom is coming to visit and I would like to send it back with her, to have it framed at my framer's.

More Halloween Stitching

Hey,

Here are a couple of more Halloween finishes. I know the picture is not the best, but I really wanted to get this posted before I had to put the kiddos to bed.

These are both from The Prairie Schooler and from her new leaflet Boo to You. They are so much fun to stitch. I am stitching on my 5th right now and then only 3 more to go. When I am all done stitching them, I am going to make them into ornaments and attach them to a wreath. I can't wait to finish them up.

Until next time
