Rare Blessing Sympathy

Happy Thursday Peeps!

Needing a sympathy card is never an easy thing but
nice to have one already made up when the occasion does arise.

This flower in the Rare Blessing set is just beautiful.
I stamped with Black Stazon onto a piece of thick
Whisper White card stock.
I colored using my Aqua Painter and ink pads.
I used Gorgeous Grape and Pear Pizzazz inks.

The sentiment is from the retired Lasting Lily stamp set.
I stamped it with Black Memento ink

I ran my floral image through my Big Shot using the Subtle EF.

The base of my card is Gorgeous Grape and I used a piece of
DSP in Grape from the 6 x 6 Brights pack.
I added the strip down the middle of the base card.
I then used a piece of Heather Highland at an angle and added my floral piece
to it.

I used two strands of white twine I pulled
from the Flax Ribbon to wrap around
 and tie a bow
on my floral and tilted panel piece.
This panel is added to the base card with dimensionals.

I finished up with a few purple rhinestones from the Noble Peacock pack.

Listed below are all the "ingredients" used to make this card.

Beautiful Friendship Cards

Happy 4th Peeps!!

Today I am sharing 4 cards I made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.

This set is so pretty and makes some
really nice cards fast and easy.
I made these four CAS cards in less than an hour.

I used Calypso Coral for my first one:

I also used Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz inks on this one.
The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

Next up I used Flirty Flamingo:

This one also used Daffodil Delight but I used Granny Apple Green for the leaves
on this one.
The sentiment is from the retired Lasting Lily stamp set.

Next I decided to use colored card bases.

This one is Highland Heather:

I added a tilted panel to these two.
The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia set.

This color is one of the new incolors, Seaside Spray.

The sentiment on here is from the Piece of Cake stamp set.

All four of these cards are very easy, clean and simple.
I did pop up with dimensionals all the image panels on each card.
I finished each card with rhinestones.
These are flat and easy mailable.
I like how they came out, how about you?
Which is your favorite?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

With Sympathy

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a clean and simple
sympathy card made using the
Free as a Bird stamp set.

I stamped a portion of the bird stamp with black stazon
onto thick whisper white card stock.
I colored with my aqua painter and ink pads using Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake for the bird.
I used Old Olive and Calypso Coral for leaves and flowers.

I die cut using a stitched circle die.
The sentiment comes from the retired Lasting Lily set and die cut with
the Stitched Label dies.
The base of my card is thick whisper white and then a layer of white that I embossed with
the Subtle EF.
I added his piece to the base with dimensionals.
The circle image piece is also added with dimensionals, as is the sentiment piece.

This is a very fast and easy card to put together.
Not too many layers and no embellishments make it
easily mailable as well.

Thank for coming by today!

With Sympathy

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card made with the challenge this week at

I started out by stamping my daffodils onto some thick
whisper white card stock with black stazon ink.

I colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky inks.

The daffodils are a stamp in the You're Inspiring stamp set.

The sentiment comes from the SAB Lasting Lily stamp set.

I smeared a bit of ink on my piece and ended up having to cut down my front and
add it to a new base piece. Always happens when I am trying to do a no layer card.

I finished it up with a few yellow sequins from the Gingham Gala Sequin pack.

Thanks for coming by.

Vicki

With Sympathy

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

So sorry for the long pause on my ol' blog a roo here.
After a looooong 7 days in a row of work and of course getting lots of baby time in between working, I just haven't had much time to stamp.

I am sharing a card I made last week at the same time I did my faux mother of pearl card.

This is a fun little watercolor technique I saw demoed on U tube a while back.
I think they called it water color splat, or something like that....lol,.
Anyway the technique is pretty simple, just lay down some ink onto your silicone mat and spritz it with some water and then splat your paper into the water downed ink.

Love the look you can achieve with this technique.

After my splatter pieced dried I stamped a flower image from the Wild About Flowers stamp set with black Memento ink.

I added a sentiment across the bottom from the Rose Wonder set.
I finished up with just a small rhinestone in the flower centers.

Very CAS, but very effective.

I have a busy day ahead so better get to it, thanks for stopping by!

CCMC.....With Sympathy

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, this week it is a fun color challenge:

I pulled out my new Hostess set called Gifts of Love to use.
I stamped the image onto some water color paper and again onto some scrap vanilla.

I water colored the flower using The Dapper Denim and the leaves are done with the Mint Macaron.
I used the Tip Top Taupe for a wash in the background and to shade all around the flower.
I then used the splotchy image from the Swirly Bird set with the Taupe and Denim stamping of twice before stamping onto my water color paper.

I colored the flowers that I stamped onto the vanilla and fussy cut out and added them over the original using some dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped using Memento Black ink.
I added some twine around the bottom and a few little white perfect accents.
I added a small stripe of Tip Top Taupe Envelope paper along the side.

The front was then mounted onto a base of Dapper Denim card stock.
Thanks for stopping by today!

SIP One Element......Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello Peeps!

Today I sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at Stamp Ink Paper.

This was a fun challenge, a One element Wonder. I pulled out my neglected You've Got this Stamp set from Stampin Up and paired it with one of the new in colors.

I stamped the flower with Black Stazon onto some thick white card stock and colored with my aqua painter using the Peekaboo Peach ink pad. I used some daffodil Delight for the center and Old Olive for the leaves and stems. I used my Clear Wink of Stella Pen to add some shimmer to the flower, I love the look you get with this pen, it does not show in the pic, but is really nice in person.

I stamped the BG image from the same set using Soft Sky ink.
I fussy cut the flower and added it to the panel with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set called Close As A Memory.
I matted this panel with a piece of Peekaboo Peach Card stock.
All of the new in colors are awesome and I can not choose a fave.

I finished it up with three small rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello my sweet peeps!!!

Today I am sharing another card I colored st the same time I colored the one I posted yesterday.
This is the Best Thoughts from Stampin Up.

This one I colored using Crushed Curry ink along with a bit of Calypso Coral.
I stamped the image with black stazon ink onto some rustic cream card stock.

I used Wild Wasabi for the leaves.
I used my white gel pen to color the stamens.

I decided to add a Sympathy sentiment because it is nice to have this kind of card ready when it is needed. This sentiment is from a retired SU set.

The main image is matted with a die cut piece of Crushed Curry. this particular die cut is from My Favorite Things. I had to make it a bit smaller to fit my piece, so I just cut it and then ran it through again cutting it off shorter on two sides to fit my image.

The DSP on here is from the English Garden pack.
I added a few tiny pearls here and there and added the main image two the base with dimesionals.

Thanks for stopping by!!

The Card Concept....Sympathy

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept.

Here is our wonderful inspiration photo for this challenge:

I took my inspiration from the beautiful palette and of course the flowers.

I found myself in need of a Sympathy card this past week so I decided to use
this challenge for my card.
I pulled out my most loved stamp from Stampin Up called Best Thoughts.
I used a couple of retired colors on my card, I used some Regal rose and just a bit of Bravo Burgundy. I did not have my Burgundy ink pad any longer but still had the marker so I scribbled a bit onto a clear block to use.
I stamped the flower image onto some Naturals cardstock with Black Stazon and colored using my aqua painter and inks.
The leaves are Old Olive and I used my white gel pen to color the stamens.

The base of the card is Early espresso and then I dug into my stash of retired DSP to find some
Bravo Burgundy paper.
I matted this with some of the Naturals cardstock.
The main panel is matted with Early Espresso card stock.
The sentiment is from the retired Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set.
I used some mini silver brads here and there.
I cut off the prongs on the brads and then used a bit of glue to add the tops.
Be sure and head over to  The Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this challenge, you are sure to be inspired to play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sweet Sunday....Sympathy and Prayers

Happy Sunday Peeps!!!

Time for a new sketch challenge at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Bllog.

Here is our Sweet Sketch this week:

I started out with one of the new in colors, Watermelon Wonder.
Don't you love this new color?

The next layer is also Watermelon Wonder that I embossed with the Elegant Dots EF.

My main image is from the Wild about Flowers stamp set.

I stamped the stem/leaves part of the stamp onto some whisper white card stock using Old Olive ink and then I stamped the flower heads onto some scrap whisper white with Watermelon Wonder ink.
I then fussy cut them out and added them to the main piece using some dimensionals.

I matted this main piece with some Basic Black card stock and added it to the base with more dimensionals.
The black striped piece is from the Neutrals pack and I used just a bit of glimmer paper and my small banner punch for the flag element on the sketch.
I was in the need of a sympathy card this week so I pulled out the Petite Pairs stamp set for my sentiment.
I added a few small basic pearls to the flower centers to finish up the card.

Be sure an hop over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this sketch!

Sweet Sunday.....With Sympathy

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch this week:

When I sat down to make my card for this sketch, a couple of weeks ago, I had the death of a school friend fresh on my mind. A girl who was a important part of my young life, a good friend and confident. We had remained friends into adulthood but I had loss touch with her several years back. Last fall she began to be on my mind and I had mentioned her to my husband several times and was wondering where she was and what she was doing. I wish now I had made more of an effort to find her then, because by the time I was made aware of her situation she was in a coma in the hospital and passed just a few days after I spoke with her husband. I was so very sad.
Any way this card is for her, I won't be able to send it to anyone, no services for her but it is for her none the less.

I started with my crumb cake layer. I used a stencil and crumb cake ink to had the harlequin BG.

I have to say I was very inspired by our former Sweet Sunday team member Jackie Pedro in making this card. Altho I did not use a particular card of hers I have always admired how she used kraft and vanilla with a pop of one color and these roses are some she used a lot. They are made using the MFT mini hybrid heirloom rose die. I love it and the die was a gift from her.
I used Crisp Cantaloupe card stock for my roses.

The leaf flourish is also a MFT die and is cut with some Pear Pizzazz card stock. The sentiment is
from a retired SU set.

Thanks for dropping by today and for helping me honor my friends passing.

Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to be inspired by the rest of the DT, they have some fabulous samples with this sketch to show you!

Sending Love and Sympathy

Happy New Year's Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made recently for a friend who had a death in the family.

Making these kind of cards are never fun and I always wish when I sit down to make one that I had several made up in reserve. I need to try and do more duplicates when making cards so I have them when needed.

I am kinda hooked on this color combo, Real Red and Crumb Cake. I decide to go simple with this one. I pulled out my Stampin Up set called Love and Sympathy and got with it.

I colored the flower image using my markers, Real red and Crumb Cake and then stamped onto Confetti Cream card stock. I stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake ink.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then another layer of the same that I embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF.

The main image is matted with Real Red card stock. I added a strip of DSP from the Flashback paper pack. I used some Real Red 3/8" Satin Ribbon around the middle and tied a pretty bow.
I added this piece to the base using some dimensionals.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by!

Splitcoast Color Challenge.....With Sympathy

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing another Corner Garden Card, this one is much like the last one I did, I just used different colors and a different sentiment.

I received an order for a set of these card after posting my last one and I was mixing them up just a bit, I took the opportunity with this card to use the SplitCoast Color Challange for my colors on this card.

Cherry cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight with the dessert option Add A Fourth Color

I used Wild Wasabi for my leaves.

The base of the card is Rustic Cream card stock and then a layer of Cherry Cobbler and then the image is stamped onto more Rustic Cream card stock. I then colored with my water brush and ink pads.

The sentiment is from the Blooming With Hope stamp set. When stamping  I got a line of black across the top from the rubber, my fault totally did not check to see if I had ink around the edge. So I used that little mishap to embellish. I added the row of pearls across the top to cover it and then added another row under the sentiment to balance it.

I then added some pearls to the center of a few flowers.

Hope you like it, this BG stamp is really fun to work with and to color, if you like to color or want to learn this is a great stamp to use.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday.......Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Sunday peeps!!

Here is our Sweet Sketch for this week:

As you can see I flipped the sketch for my card.
I used the Stampin Up "With Love and Sympathy" stamp set. Love the pretty flower in this set.
I used my Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral markers to ink up the image and stamped it twice with out re-inking and then again one more time full strength.
the sentiment I used comes from the retired "Close as a Memory" stamp set.

The DSP on here is all from the same pack the Two for Tea pack.
I added some mini silver brads to the image panel and some half back silver sticky pearls to the top corners.
I promise my top layers on the main image piece are straight, not sure why they look wonky in the picture....hmmmm.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

and this week's Sweet Guest Stamper:
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!
